Axess Cleaners

This review is for their wash & fold with pick-​up and drop-​off services.
At first, I had a lot of questions to be answered, so I hesitated using the service. I finally wrote via Unilocal to the owner and asked all my questions. He emailed back and offered to have a quick call to address all my questions. This was very nice of him. Here is the lowdown of everything I asked and learned during that call — hope it’s helpful to you guys. I’ve been using their services for ~6 months now and really enjoy the convenience of it.
There are two options for wash and dry services:
Option 1: pay as you go
Option 2: pre-​pay a certain amount and get VIP treatment
Option 1 is pretty straightforward. You must go to their location on Castro street and drop-​off or pick-​up your clothes if you choose this method. Standard pricing is $ 1.49 per pound for wash and fold.
Option 2 is where things get more interesting. Here’s how it works:
* You pre-​pay a certain amount. Based on how much you pre-​pay, you get a discount on their standard pricing.
* If you pre-​pay $ 100, you get a 10% discount. Pre-​pay $ 250 for a 25% discount. Discounts are applied automatically.
* Pre-​paid amounts never expire.
* If you sign-​up for the pre-​paid option, you can get refunded in full the remainder of your balance if you cancel after the very first time you try the service.
* As pre-​paid VIP member, you get free pick-​up and drop-​off of clothes at your place. You simply send a text message to a number they give you with your info (name, address, etc.) the night before and they pick-​up your clothes the next day (e.g., text Sunday for Monday pick-​up).
* They normally take 3 – 4 days to return the bag of clothes. It has taken up to a week.
* You can also send clothes for dry cleaning or professional services through the pick-​up/​drop-​off service. Just make sure you label them in separate bags.
In general, the service has been good. I highly recommend it for those of you who hate enough doing laundry that you’d pay for it. The folding service saves a lot of time. I don’t have an in-​unit washer or dryer, needed to used shared machines, so I opted to use this service instead.

I work long hours and appreciate Axess’ home pick up and delivery service. Recently I had an extremely positive experience working with the manager Michael, who went to great lengths to repair a jacket collar that had been damaged during the dry cleaning process. I feel he did right by the customer with the steps he took, and it’s this kind of management and customer service that deserves repeat business and positive reviews on Unilocal.Thank you Michael and the Axess team!

I recently had some shirts dry cleaned and some repairs done on my clothes. Everything came back beautifully and on time. The people that work there are very friendly and the manager, Michael, goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with the quality of service that you receive at Axess.

To their credit, the alteration job was fine and all the pants were nicely ironed, which I did not expect, so I’ll give them that.

Didn’t think their service is going to be this good. I certainly suggest Axess Cleaners to all family and friends as well.
Having been a customer for over 6 months now, I have tried their service enough to say that they’re reliable, professional and on time when it comes to providing all that they offer.
I brought my wedding gown here for cleaning as I had plans to sell it. When I dropped it off at the store, the lady at the front desk took my order and left it for Michael to look at and get back to me with pricing. I think he’s the one that handles unique items as such.
Meanwhile, I also had a chance to do some price shopping elsewhere and waited for Michael, who got back to me the next day with full detail. He’s very polite, professional and explains everything in great detail.
There was a stain on the gown that I was mostly concerned with and he also went through in detail and explaining what could be the outcome. After all, the dress was a expensive one so I had to make sure it gets the best care. Eventually, with the information presented, he moved onto their preservation process. They have a cool flyer there that explains the preservation in detail as well and so he showcased and even showed me a sample.
The difference between preservation and cleaning to me wasn’t significant enough plus I preferred optimal care for the gown so I chose to Preserve the gown instead.
I had done my research and called up few spots before Axess and all except one was priced higher. But, I choose Axess mainly due to the information I was presented and overall customer service.
I’ve gotten the gown back, the stain that I was most concerned about it now gone and it’s nicely packaged in a beautiful box. I’m almost hesitant to sell the gown now, but Im sure the new owners will love it.
Michael was also nice enough to include their promotions and they do carry those at times, so ask Michael for it.

I am very pleased with their service.
I don’t usually write much reviews, unless Im very upset or very happy about a particular service or product I’ve received. I think most of us can relate to this.
Axess Cleaners have yet to disappoint me, and I’m not an easy person to please — sometimes.
This said, as many of us are going through this Holiday Season, I’m sure we all have an item or two for a special event or party that needs a last minute care or cleaning. Same happened to me! although Im usually on top of it and give myself plenty time to prepare for a special occasion, this particular situation was out of my control.
In fact, twice Michael and Axess Cleaners team pulled through for me. Once before Thanksgiving, as I needed a dress cleaned and pressed and although I had plenty time, the dress had a major stain that I brought from my local cleaner to Axess to take a look at. Michael was there and he took the order and in no time returned it back to me cleaned, pressed and ready to wear. I was impressed because to me it seemed to be a bad stain and plus my local cleaner couldn’t take it out.
This time around, after my first experience with them, I called the store and asked for Michael specifically. I had three dresses, that not only needed cleaning but also Alteration. Explained to Michael over the phone and also we communicated the rest by text message (pic etc). Michael made it very easy for me to show him what I needed done without having to go to the store — so this helped a lot and saved me a lot of time. However what impressed me the most is the time frame, he promised to get them done by today and so he did.
Needed two of the dress to be hemmed, as well as one to also have it taken in from the waste. They are all gown-​type dresses so I assumed this may not be possible. He pulled through and made it happen.
I am very happy with Axess Cleaners. Although it’s not close to where I live, I’m lucky to work in the area so I will be using them more often. I haven’t tried their delivery service, but I think I will go for it and may be put an updated review down the road.
I def suggest them to everyone, Michael and his team are great.

I used Axess Cleaners for about a year when living down in Mountain View. Michael the manager is extremely responsive on any issues and is quick to address them.

HUGE thanks to Michael for helping do a zipper repair on my jeans super quick! I needed them fixed by Friday morning so I called ahead Tuesday morning to see if they could fix in time, and even with the holiday rush, Michael made sure to have them done by Thursday night! 5 stars for thorough and timely follow up and response time. I’ll definitely keep coming back thanks to their attention to detail and excellent customer service. I also got a discount on the repair because I pre-​purchased the Silver VIP package years ago and was able to still use the credit.

Great service, ready when they told me they would be, and the clothes looked wonderful. What more can you ask for from a dry cleaner? Only complaint was that it can be really hard to find parking along Castro during peak times, but that is not their fault. I just try to go during off times.

I am posting from my boyfriend’s account to talk about the very good experience I had at Axess Cleaners last week. I especially want to give a shoutout to Patty. She went above and beyond when she didn’t have to.
I had a very important work meeting in New York and had to look my absolute best. I dropped off a custom skirt that needed repair and a blazer for cleaning on Wednesday afternoon for a late pick-​up Friday. It seemed like it would take a lot of effort to get my skirt stitched in that time frame, but she promised it would be done according to my specific instruction.
Michael followed-​up with a phone call to confirm my request and timeline. We moved pick-​up to Saturday which was fine, since I was flying out Sunday morning.
Time got away from me Saturday, prepping and all. I looked at the clock and it was 30 minutes to closing time and I was clear across town. I called and spoke to Patty, she said she could wait for me since she knew how important the garment was to me. I gave her the option to leave it on the outside of the door, but she said «Absolutely not! I’ll wait for you.» I rushed through the streets and retrieved it from her after closing time. Everything was in perfect condition and she had the best attitude.

I don’t like to review many places simply because I tend to find faults with businesses that I use than necessary be happy. By this Im implying that Im a perfectionist and care to get utmost experience I can possibly get BEFORE I review them. I’m hard to please since Im also detailed oriented.
My experience however with Axess Cleaners was different. Im going to admit it, at first I wasn’t so fond of their service at first glance. Walked in, it was toward the end of the day so Im assuming the girl assisting me was tired, but I don’t think its a good reason to not get the best service. However, I still went with it based on seeing their reviews and just feeling comfortable about the service they can provide for me.
This said, other downside to them was their parking, which I noticed few others had mentioned, but again theres ways around that. Including may be calling them to have your order ready before you get there so it’s a quick pick up (this way I usually park my car behind other cars for a quick stop).
Now their service. I’ve had nothing but a great service here when it comes to what I’m most here for. That is dry cleaning service. I don’t do much repair so I won’t touch on that, but with my experience in Dry Cleaning, I have been very satisfied.
They are prompt and on time, and every time I’ve asked for rush or next day service they never missed it. The quality is great — here Im comparing it with my old dry cleaner who was beyond amazing and they used brand new equipment and my clothes always came out great. These guys come very close to what I was used to and what I was using before them.
I haven’t dealt with any of the other staff much and mostly with the girl who comes toward closing time, but overall Im very satisfied with their service.
Moreover, I am considering their discount program to also get home delivery. I think its a nice touch, now this I’ve never tried before so we’ll see how it will turn out for me.
I definitely recommend them, but just like me I don’t suggest taking my word for it and may be give them a few tries before making your mind up. :)

I absolutely love this place. Great service, environmentally friendly, and most of all reliable! I can count on them and trust them with my articles of clothing, even with alterations. Although I don’t live in the area, I make an effort to take my clothing to them whenever i visit my family and friends around the south bay/​peninsula. I am happy i found these guys.
My most recent service was for two party dresses of mine that i needed to be cleaned asap for an event that was two days later. I didn’t want to trust just any cleaner considering the delicacy of my dresses so I just gave them a call to see if they can do the job that day or the next. Sometimes they don’t answer their phone right away, but after two tries I spoke to a lady who prompt and accommodating. She wasn’t sure if she could get it done that day but she said she would ask the manager and call me back. Within five minutes, the manager Michael himself called me. We exchanged information about the type of stain and material of the dresses and then I sent him pictures of them. That alone saved me a whole trip there (imagine if they couldn’t do the job). With all the information presented, he assured me that he can take care of it. So I proceeded with the job and drove there to drop off my clothes. To make things easier for me, they offered to drop off my clothes to me the next morning near my work at no charge. Wow! So generous.
I received my dresses and they looked great. Stain free, nice and clean. What more can I ask for? If you want quality service, this is your place. Michael and his team are excellent.

After posting my original review Michael the manager contacted me right away. He was very apologetic and wanted to resolve the issue.
Michael was able to refund the credit I had left and for that I appreciate the good customer service.

They used to be good. Michael used to care about customer service. Now the lady and the guy are basically rude and indifferent. Sad to see this place go downhill. Guess success got to their heads?! If you call them they are curt and expect you to know their rules. Wow. Enough is enough.
Edit: Michael sent me a note asking what went wrong. Let me say it publicly. These days when I ask about home pickup, home delivery, expedited return for a few items etc I get the sense that I asking for a favor. I understand being a business owner is not easy. But where is the old culture of making customers feel comfortable asking about the services you offer. Also add on jobs seem like a big favor to ask even if I’m willing to pay.

I’ve tried them all. From every small city and town that I’ve lived in to the Bar Area, I’ve tried it all. Online Dry Cleaning, on demand pick up services, different stores and locations.
I have been able to really take my pick of who’s the best when it comes to Choosing the right Dry Cleaner and Laundry place.
I must say, I’m lucky enough to have been introduced to Axess Cleaners by a friend of mine who’s been using their service for some time now. After moving to the Bay Area and closer to Mountain View, I tried looking for a Cleaner that’s good, reasonably priced and does and overall good job. Tried few in the area but didn’t meet my need. Although, at times the ones I tried weren’t bad or horrible, but there was always something that I saw missing. Either, quality, convenience or price.
Personally speaking, I don’t go for cheap cleaners, cuz I know what you pay is what you get. But, I don’t go for over-​priced cleaners either cuz it’s just a quick rip-​off to me. With these guys, they (as far as their prices goes) are right in the middle. I think their price before their program is competitive and nice, but it gets really good with the program.
Tried, bunch of suits, lots of shirts (weekly), few alterations and they were all handled well. Not once I had to go back for the second time on an order that was supposed to be ready a day before or something. On top of which, every time I had asked for Rush/​expedited service, they kept their promise and it was ready at the exact time I had asked for.
In all, I certainly suggest using these guys. They’re top notch and you won’t regret your decision.
P. S. I have NOT used their pick up and delivery, but I’m thinking to go for it. It seems to be the ideal way to do my dry cleanings. Another step closer to being free from another errands that I dislike :) — Thanks Axess and team

I give them all the 5 stars. Well deserved.
At first, I didn’t want to believe that they have an almost perfect review and thought it can’t be «true». But, I thought to give them a try anyways since they’re close to me and met my need.
After trying them for about a month (once a week) on mainly dry cleaning and wash-​n-​folds, I couldn’t help but realize how good they are. To many dry cleaning is dry cleaning, but to me is the entire experience and now I see why they’re well reviewed.
— Convenience: A++ (specially when you use their pick up and drop off service)

— Price: A (In my opinion best value for money, specially when you consider their free pick up and drop off)
— Customer service: B (They have an exceptional customer service, however at times major work must be dealt with the manager. Not a big problem, but could take a day or postpone orders) — The manager however is amazing and very helpful.
— Location: C (Not the best location, at times issue with parking, but again with their pick up and drop off service, this shouldn’t be a problem.
In all, I too believe they’re one of the better service in the area I’ve tried and looking forward to continue using their service. I give them 5 star as they well deserve it.
P. S. Their VIP service gets you tons of continues discount and benefits. Suggest looking into it.

VERY Impressed with Axess Cleaners.
I have been using them for a while now and other than their quality, which to most ppl is key when choosing a dry cleaner, what I was most impressed with was their customer service level and ease of using their service.
I definitely suggest being part of their so-​called «VIP service» as it will get you additional discounts. On top of which, qualifies you for pick up and drop off service that makes the whole thing a lot easier and more convenient.
All of their employees who I have met are extremely nice and helpful and knowledgeable, but as some of the other Unilocalers had mentioned, Michael [I believe the manager] is the guy to go to for anything special that requires attention and detail work.
Some of the prices that they have at this place. Don’t forget, with the VIP service they have, you get the same stuff even cheaper.
Shirts — $ 1.95 ($ 1.65)
Pants — $ 5.75 ($ 4.20)
Suite — $ 13.95 ($ 10)
Also, did few alterations here as well on my pants and few jackets. They all came out great. Time frame was also reasonable.

This place is wonderful and reasonably priced! I’m not a huge fan of their location as it’s not near a supermarket or a place where I could run my errands and also go to my Cleaner, BUT I think it’s worth the extra trip.
I must say, I’ve recently got on board with their VIP program, which I also get free pick up and delivery so now it solves my problem with the location and having to run one more errand.
They have great next day service (if you drop off at the store location fairly early) and are prompt when they take your order.
I’ve had my husband’s shirts and suits cleaned here, $ 1.65 for L-​Shirts and $ 10 for suits, plus that free pick up and delivery. I’ve yet to have any issues with them about stains or items not being pressed right. I’ve also taken few alterations here for my dresses and jackets (sleeves) and they all turned out great. I suggest asking for Michael when you’re trying to get measured, he’s the manager, I believe, and does a great job overall.
One thing that specially impressed me about this place is their level of customer service. I have to say this simply because it’s not easy getting a great customer service at cleaners as mostly I’ve had not so pleasant of an experience. With Axess it’s been positive and makes us want to go back to them.
I had two dresses (one of which is an expensive night gown) that were fancy with lots of beads and colorful fabric, which I needed for my friend’s wedding. Obviously, we all leave our errands to last minute, so did I. Running out of options, I called up Axess to see if they can manage to do the two dresses plus my husband’s suit, shirt and tie. At first I was turned down since it was a difficult task, but I asked for Michael and although he wasn’t available at the time, he gave me a call within 15 minutes. We spoke about the situation, he asked for few pictures of the garment and basically told me that he will get it done.
I was very happy to hear Michael say this as Axess was my last resort, but what I was also impressed about was that Michael got the job done a day sooner than what I expected. He is great at what he does and communicated with me via text the entire time.
I absolutely recommend this place to everyone. Ask for Michael for those special requests, chances are he’ll manage.

Convenient and Reliable.
Too bad I don’t live close to Axess Cleaners and their delivery radius. However, they are definitely the cleaner that I go to when I visit family and friends over weekends.
I have been using my local Dry Cleaner in SF that I am satisfied with, but couple of occasions they weren’t able to clean my garments and mentioned, the stain that was on my silk beige dress had been on there for some time and it wouldn’t come out. I LOVE this dress, and so I decided to take it to Axess Cleaners for a second opinion. Since I am in this area frequently, I dropped off the dress with few other items, and on Monday morning before heading to work, stopped by to pick up. I was surprised to see that all my items done — the manager had kept his promise on expediting the order since he knew I was only there for the weekend, and also the stain/​spot on my beloved SILK Beige Dress had actually come out.
I just wish they would extend their delivery service to the City or may be have a small store there. Such great experience, and will definitely come by here with my beloved clothing articles.
PS: Always ask for Michael if you want to get something taken care of. He’ll make sure it gets done.

AXESS Cleaners and their staff are truly amazing at what they do. From customer service to the quality of their work I am quite amazed and happy with the overall outcome.
I am a frequent dry cleaner user and have tried many dry cleaners so far. I must say, I have yet to use a dry cleaner that I have been so satisfied with and Axess Cleaners is truly unique when it comes to giving me a good impression.
For one, these guys are green certified, but aside from their environmentally friendly practices, they seem to take the extra steps when it comes to pressing of my garments. I have been bringing my suits and shirts to them for few months now. All my shirts are nicely cleaned and pressed. I don’t have to give them much instruction on how to press or even remove any spots. They go through my garments and take care of it for me. Probably the fastest drop off location I’ve seen, I just leave my bag that they provide for me at their store and leave.
Turn around time is really great (2 business days). I’ve also recently joined their VIP program, mainly because of their delivery and on top of which I’ve been also getting a great discount as well. So, now I’m getting an amazing price per garment and the convenience of delivery to my work makes it a whole lot better.
Definitely recommend using Axess Cleaners.
