Been going to see Todd for some time now and he’s the best. I went in for an oil change and on inspection let me know that I’d probably be due for a front brake job at my next oil change.
I love that I have piece of mind that my car is being taken care of from someone whom I trust and don’t feel hi pressure sales from. Thanks Todd!

Got groupon deal for three oil changes and maintenances. Usually I don’t trust cheap services and should continue to do that. So I’ve tried to be nearby my car all the time and everything looked great beside how mechanic trying to squeeze into the car between barely open driver door (because of lift stands). So mechanic left a big scratch from jeans belt on car clear coat which I didn’t saw in dark light of garage. I only found it when got home and have to deal with existence of it. I’ve tried contact owner by e-​mail which I found on their website but got no response. After that I just asked Groupon about that and they immediately cancelled remaining services. One more thing: person at garage advised (and even placed sticker) to do maintenance every 5k miles even if in manual it was clearly said that it should be done once 7.5k for normal driving conditions. So, guys, be careful.

My car broke down and started smoking, luckily I was parked right next to Depot Garage. I came in all flustered «MY CAR IS SMOKING» and Todd was really nice and handled it, get it to start and fixed it all up (the radiator was leaking) he quoted me a fair price as well.
PS: Sorry to make you walk to my broken down car Todd :)

Shaky. I’d been here before for an oil change, which he gave me a reasonable discount for since he didn’t carry the oil that I used. He was pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable, esp. about chevy motors.
I stopped by recently to ask him if he could spot an electrical problem between the battery and the starter. He indicated he could, but when I told him what the static charge was on the battery [ over 13.5v ] he responded that a fully charged battery was 12.2v.
Actually, this voltage may not even operate a good starter, and 12.7v is the minimum needed to keep a «12-​volt battery» from destroying itself. 14 — 14.5v is what you expect from a _​new_​«12-​volt battery». He got _​very_​indignant that I should question his mistaken pronouncement and refused to talk to me. This info is so basic. Strange, very very strange.
Caveat emptor.
This info is on every car site on the web. Check the voltage on the batteries on the racks at Costco, Sears, Walmart, etc. All will read 14+ volts. Ask any parts store clerk.

p. s. I could and did fix my jalopy. All I needed from him was the expensive meter. I paid someone else for the use, determined the problem, and did it.

I found this place on Groupon and have recommended it to so many friends since! Todd assessed the check-​engine light problems for me without charging extra, and gave me really honest, good suggestions for where to buy the parts & tires I needed.
I went to another shop for a regular oil change & they told me I needed thousands of dollars of emergency work… super frightening and confusing, since the car seemed fine. So I brought my car back here, and I was right, it’s fine. Definitely more confident returning here and recommending it than any other spot!

Todd is amazing! We took in my van to get an engine mount replaced. When I called to make the appointment he quoted me a price that would be for a 2 hour job. Looooooong story short, he ended up having to keep it overnight because the part just would NOT come out. He apologized over and over again even though it was not his fault.
I came back the next day to pick it up expecting to pay for the 10 extra hours he had to work on it. NOPE!!! He only charged me $ 50 extra!!! Amazing!
Sweet guy. Really knowledgeable. He definitely has my trust… and future business.

Got a Groupon for oil changes. Talked with Todd, he was very nice. Told me to bring it it at 2p, that it would take about 30 minutes… and that’s exactly what it took.
Absolutely no complaints. Will be doing business with Todd again.

Came here for an oil change, which I purchased off Groupon. Todd was very friendly and the oil change was fast. He told me the recommended service for my car, but didn’t pressure me to do it at the moment. I would highly recommend!

I heard about Depot garage from a coworker. She raved about how reasonable the prices were and how great of a mechanic the owner was. My coworker told me that he was paying twice as much to get his brakes done at the dealer then at this garage. I also went in and had to get my brakes done and talk to the mechanic. Todd, the owner, had taken over this business in the last year or so and has really grown his business. In just speaking with him I learned that he has years of experience and is a Toyota master specialist. I was very impressed with his background and more so with the fact that I was paying half the price to get my brakes done then what I was paying at the dealership as well. I dropped my car off at about 10 o’clock and was so surprised when he called me almost an hour later and told me that the car was done. My car feels so great after driving it and I’m so happy with the service. I’m so happy to have found an honest mechanic that I can now go to forever. I highly recommend this place!!!

Todd runs a tiny garage in the heart of downtown Mountain View near the Evelyn VTA Station. Unlike other mechanics, Todd will spend the time explaining what’s wrong with your car and is very honest about the repairs. I went only went in for an oil change and a tire rotation (with a GroupOn) but if I’m ever in the neighborhood and need my car repaired, I would definitely come back again. His waiting room isn’t much of a waiting room but who needs a waiting room when you have the entire downtown Mountain View at your disposal and a VTA Station right across the street? Make sure to make an appointment before heading over because Todd is the only employee at his auto shop so all work must go through him in serial.

I have been searching years to find a trustworthy mechanics but never really found one until several great experiences with Tod. So far, I have him repaired my Saturn VUE 2003 and Camry 99 in different occasions. His service is fast, accurate, reliable and cheaper than dealers. I am so glad not to shop around for car repairs, which is my big headache given older cars that I own. I trust him will give me the honest estimate and best price. From our conversation, he was a supervisor for Nissan for many years and had many certificates to handle various type of cars. He is easy to talk to and take time to explain. Thank you, Tod for taking care of my cars!

Had my oil changed here a couple times and also had my visor and dome light replaced. Service was friendly and quick. Didn’t get charged labor on replacement items. Will definitely be a returning customer.

This is a great garage. Honest, friendly service every time. I came in initially for an oil change and have since brought my car in for repairs. Each time, I get quick service and I really feel like the owner is giving me his honest opinion. I would love to see his business stay here for a long time.

Todd took good care of my 2011 F150 by performing the 20k mile service same day, and at a fraction of the cost that a dealership would charge. It’s the first time in a long time that I have taken a car in to a service shop and didn’t feel like I got taken for a ride.
I won’t hesitate taking any of my cars here again… Thanks Todd!

New owner Todd is awesome. I’ve taken 3 of my cars there and he’s fixed or found what’s wrong with car everytime. My cars r running like their brand new! I recommend this shop over any dealership anytime. Thanks Todd!!!

Probably one of the best shops in the area. The new owner has quite an impressive history with working on cars if you chat with him for a minute, and can work on just about anything big or small.
Go in for a simple oil change, and you’ll go to him forever.

i’m pretty picky about who works on my car. if they can’t talk the talk, i’ll take my business somewhere else.
i came by depot garage to get my car worked on because I had some brake issues that the had helped me with before.
when i got there, i came to find out that it was under new ownership. it sounds like between the guys that ran the «speed» shop that i worked with before and now, there were a couple of owners that gave the place a bad rep.
but that is all over now. todd is a great guy, knows his stuff and is honest. highly recommend him and wouldn’t hesitate to bring my car back for anything.

These guys are ok for simple work but over all they can’t fix a problem. Went there 4 times for the same seal issue, the ordered the wrong part the first time, leaked terrible. Then the whole unit blew out. Never again will I go there.

I randomly saw a sign for this place which advertised a great brake special. I got several quotes for a full brake replacement, transmission flush, oil change and Mike from Depot Garage did an EXCELLENT job. I was so pleased with the work that they did that I have trusted them to also do a wheel alignment, put on new tires, fix a broken fuse, and replace the motor mounts. The prices cannot be beat anywhere else. More importantly, the service is outstanding and Mike will tell you honestly what your car needs. He also owns another successful garage in Morgan Hill. I will never take my car anywhere else. Thanks Mike!!!

They replaced my VW Jetta clutch over a month ago. Their price was by far the best I found and they were a pleasure to work with as well as very accommodating to my schedule.
I almost gave them a 4star, b/​c either they forgot to connect a wire for the speedometer to work (or maybe it was connected and just dirty so not electrically connected — I don’t recall). Regardless, they remedied this quickly.
I developed a lot of trust in them and will definitely be going back to Depot Garage in the future.
