Decent BBQ place. Their meats and sides are good for a chain restaurant, however they recently upped their prices all around, about half a year ago. They are more expensive now, which is why I deducted several stars. If they were priced better, they’d deserve a four star rating.

Tried the pulled pork, brisket and ribs. Plus the coleslaw, fries and onion straws, The bbq items are really only ok — in texture and flavor. The sauce is way too thin and not very flavorful. The coleslaw and onion straws were both really tasty, the fries were undercooked. Doubt I will go here again. The prices are definitely higher that I would have thought for what I got — like the $ 16 rib plate.

Absolutely delicious but quite pricey!!! By the time I finished my meal I was too stuffed to have soft serve. Next time I’ll be sure to save room

People are so dang pickey about BBQ in the bay. Come on guy we aren’t in Kansas anymore! That said this place is still pretty darn good. I’ve had their ribs and tri-tip in the past and both times I was satisfied with my food and my service.

Disclaimer — I’ve only ever ordered one thing here, but I’ve done it a lot. The loaded baked potato is ginormous and so delicious that I can’t help but get it every time I’m near here. The problem is that I can’t even finish the potato, let alone get any other kind of BBQ while I’m here. The place is always popping though, so I imagine it’s good as well. I just know that when it comes to getting a loaded baked potato, you can’t top Dickey’s. It’s efficient as well as delicious.

Just an update from my terrible last dealings with Dickey’s. Below is the BS they sent me and after I replied with my info giving them a chance to redeem themselves… not a damn word! «We truly apologize for your recent negative experience with us, Jay. We are constantly striving to improve our quality of service to every guest. Would you mind sending us your phone number and email so our Guest Response Team can reach out to you? Thanks.» That was 2÷2÷16 and still nothing which shows how much you hey care. This just lost them a costumer!

Let me start by saying I love Dickey’s, just not this one. I take improper serve safe technique very seriously. Today’s one star review is not because of the dry or over salted meat this location usually serves up(which I have come to expect) but when we were ordering the printer didnt spit out the receipt. The cashier called for help and the Asian kid working the meat station came to help. He touched everything receipt, printer, signing pen, counter etc… with his food prep gloves on then went back to preparing orders. I saw him do this and told him he should change his gloves after handling things at the register and he looked at me very confused and then said«ok» but proceeded to keep preparing our food with the same gloves on. Needless to say that was my last visit to this location.

If I could rate a zero I would, started eating my sandwich got about halfway through and noticed the meat felt like plastic. Spit it out and dissected it and found crumpled plastic, then I unraveled it and sure thing it was alot of plastic rolled up into the meat! Be careful not to choke on this food plastic.

I saw other reviews saying the bbq baked potatoes were excellent, but often unavailable, so I placed a takeout order, thinking that Dickey’s wouldn’t accept the order if they couldn’t fulfill it. Instead, they accepted the order, then waited until I arrived to pick up my food to inform me that they were«Out of baker due to previous customer ordered all the available bakers.» It apparently took them until the very moment they’d said the food would be ready to notice that they’d run out of potatoes. Trying to eat here was a total waste of time.

I’m not super into bbq, but my husband(who it obsessed with bbq since he’s from Texas) insisted it was good, so I was willing to try it. Now, we get it occasionally and I enjoy it every time. My favorites: Fried okra Cheddar sausage Brisket I’m not really a fan of the space/atmosphere. It’s fine, but it feels off, so we always take it to go. The staff can be hit or miss. *There bbq sauces are pretty darn good too.

My very first trip to Dickey’s was to this location on Wednesday(12⁄02) evening. I walked up to the counter and asked if I could see a menu and that it was my first time there. The guy behind the counter gave me a «Are you kidding me» kind of look and just pointed up without saying a word. Guess I was too busy glancing around that I didn’t see the posted menu above. When I was ready to order I asked for the daily special along with the two sides it comes with. Unfortunately, they were out of Mac n Cheese. Understandable since I got there around 8:30(receipt says 8:39 by the time I placed my order). After paying, approx 3 – 4 seconds later, I asked if I could change one of the sides I ordered(Potato Salad) to the fries. Mind you, he is still in front of me and haven’t started making anything yet. He turns to another employee(older gentleman in the back) and says«he wants to change his order» twice. I then said I assumed the price would be the same. He walks away and I go to stand by the pop machine. while he was getting the meal ready I came towards the window to ask if he could cut the sandwich in half(pretty nervous thinking he’ll lose his s**t, even though I’m paying for it lol). He didn’t see me standing there until he came to hand me my order. I, very nicely and politely, asked«Can you please cut the sandwich in half please? If it’s not too late?» He stared at me for a second then rolls his eyes, tilts his head back and says«SUREEEEEEEEE» …wow… The one star above is just because of the treatment I received while I was there. I will admit, the sandwich(sausage) was terrific. The side portion was way too small but delicious as well(Fries and Casserole). The End??? NOOOOOOOOOO When I reached home, I grabbed the bag from the bottom and felt that it was wet. Yes, one half of my sandwich was facing down the brown bag creating quiet a mess :(

Finally a good BBQ place in the Bay Area ! Moved here from Texas and this is the only place which has juicy meat sandwiches. This time I had the westerner sandwich with meats: pulled pork + polish sausage. Truly delicious and gratifying :) I will definitely try the ribs and brisket next time and update my review.

Its real BBQ, cooked onsite every day. They do taste good despite being a franchise, with a nice slightly smoky, sweet flavor profile. they are cooked tender although not quite fall of the bone tender, but good enough. Gourmet chefs actually say they prefer rib meat to be firmer so there are right in the ballpark. The have a slight pink tinge which I love because it means they were slow cooked and not overcooked. Today we ordered a full rack and split it between the two of us. We each had four ribs and that left 4 ribs for my lovely lady to take home for her dinner. We enjoyed the meaty texture and some pf the ribs even developed some bark(which I love). This is still the best BBQ ribs in Mountain View since Frank’s closed down. They have self service sauces, original, sweet and spicy. I don’t put any extra sauce on my ribs because I like to enjoy the meaty flavor(they already come with sauce on them, but my friends do add extra sauce and enjoy it. Ribs are very subjective, yo just have to come down and try this place to see what you think. The sides are average, nothing to get excited about, but the again I have never found a side that I got excited about anywhere from here to Texas. Focus on the meat and see what you think about them, its worth trying.

Great food, friendly people. Fantastic choice for catering. I was surprised they deliver, setup and do everything but serve.

After shopping at Safeway, I needed to grab something since I was starving and I didn’t want to prep and cook when I got home. I gave this place a try during lunch and the food tasted great! I love their Mac and Cheese. Each day they have a daily special which comes with a main dish, two sides and a fountain drink soda, see the pic for more info! Since it was my first time there, there was a lady who had great customer service because she was friendly and nice. Overall, I’d go back there again.

This BBQ chain serves good barbecue at fair prices. This location is near the 101, so it’s easy to get to during lunch hours. This is a small BBQ chain that originated from Texas, so it comes w BBQ street cred. Surprisingly, this small chain is in a community like Mountain View when you would expect it in San Jose or another large city. Dickey’s offers daily specials that are reasonably priced, and offer you some BBQ meat option or sandwich with two sides and a souvenir sized cup for about $ 10. The brisket is cooked right, nice bark and great smokey flavor. My only gripe is with the hot links, odd texture reminiscent of a polish sausage and not enough heat. I love great BBQ, and this place does it right. Try the smokehouse salad w brisket and onion strings. They also have free soft serve vanilla ice cream. Dickey’s is a small chain that’s worth a visit.

Pass on place can’t even use fresh ingredients, they serve frozen and they burn it too for you. Floors sticky and employees standing around. Wish the Mexican food spot was still here! What a shame!

You always know what you’re going to get at Dicky’s. It’s not the best Texas BBQ around but it’s darn good when you’re outside of The Lone Star State. Small, strip center eatery with about room for 14 up front and 22 in the back. Was not even sure what the back dining room was until I heard people talking. The joint is clean, good ‘ol country goodness. For the food, I’ve said the same thing about Dickey’s for years. If you’re traveling down the road in unfamiliar territory, you will always find a friend inside these doors. In your backyard, there are probably better, Mom & Pop smoke shacks with lip smack’n good meats. That said, I like Dickey’s. I’m a brisket man from Texas and I’m always thankful to find a moist plate while living in California. Not sure what part of the cow the Tri-tip comes from(actually, I do know) but there’s nothing like slow smoked, sliced brisket with some pickles, white onion and sauce you like. I mix the hot and the sweet. Never understood sweet tea but they have it. So enjoy. Throw on a side of their wet cole slaw too. I’ll keep coming back to a Dicky’s near me. You should too.

So I had a coupon for a free big bbq sandwich and I just couldn’t wait until i got to Fremont so I gave this place another try and hoped and prayed that it would be good this time around and it was. I ordered a big barbecue brisket sandwich w/onions and pickles as well as the loaded potato casserole. The sandwich was a bit smaller than I expected but it was full of nice juicy brisket, so much that brisket was falling out the sides with every bite that I took. The sandwich was so tasty and the potato casserole was great as well but I think next time I will do without the green onions. I still think they are a bit pricey for the amount of food that they give you and I would love for them to implement the free pickles like some of the other locations but other than that it’s ok. I had a much better experience this time around. My rating for them is actually 3.5 stars but as we all know we don’t have that option but there was a big improvement here and my stomach is happy.

Tri-tip, pulled pork, mac & cheese, potato salad, and green beans are all good. Obviously there’s more on the menu, but this is what my husband and I tried. If you haven’t been to Dickey’s they offer meat plates where you can choose how many meats you want along with 2 sides and a roll. One of the workers suggested we get a family pack, which is basically the picnic package where you choose a pound of meat, 2 sides, and comes with 4 rolls all for the same price as 2 plates. It’s a pretty awesome deal. My husband and I love comfort food, so this place hits the spot for us. Thankfully we decided to give this place a try because the quality of Armadillo Willy’s has been going down through the years so we are happy to add this place into our regular rotation. One other perk that I love about this place is they offer free vanilla soft serve!
