The food was superb!
I really really really like the sandwiches!
And my friend really liked the hamburger.
They delivered it right to my house, so it was very very easy and convenient.
Also I love the shaved ice… and all of their gelato flavours hehe

Probably one of the sketchier establishments I’ve ever walked into. I was very skeptical coming here, despite the assurance of my coworkers. It might have been the messily glued together plastic furniture, the peeling black sofa in the corner, the garishly outdated 2.99 burger and chicken sandwich posters on the windows… this place ain’t getting any stars for ambiance.
But I’m not one to poopoo on good food, so I can only say good things from here on out. The people are friendly and can make you just about anything you want. The food comes out slowly since I’ve seen at most 2 people working the place, but the grub is quality. I had a teriyaki burger with fries and it was a pretty solid burger. Hefty, flavorful, and cheap! The fries here are also really good. Crispy and thick-​cut yummmy. My coworker got a huuuuge sandwich and I definitely stared in food envy at some other tables’ pizzas.
The gelato here is excellent. We sampled a bunch of flavors, all really creamy and perfectly textured. The three of us ended up sharing a shaved ice bowl which came with a generous heaping of fresh fruit and huge dollop of pistachio gelato. Great meal-​finisher on a hot day!
So I wouldn’t take anyone you’re trying to impress here, not exactly first-​date material. But this is definitely a place to go to grab some gelato or shaved ice after dinner and show off your local prowess.

I went here on a Saturday night because Gelato Classico closed earlier and this place opens until midnight or so. If you are on Castro Street, I highly recommend driving there instead of walking because it is still a bit of a distance from the strip.
I came here and got the peanut butter chocolate gelato and OMG it was sooo goood. The texture blew my mind and I actually preferred it over Gelato Classico. I really wanted to get enough scoop but I refrained.
The reason why I gave it three stars is because my two other friends each got the waffle with fruits and we were all shocked with the size. It was about $ 6 and when the server brought it to them, we all thought it was a joke and he was mistaken. The waffle wasnt even a whole waffle… it wasnt even half a waffle. IT WAS ONE QUARTER OF A WAFFLE. I couldnt believe that they could fit the scoop of ice cream and fruits on it when the surface area was so small. We looked at photos on Unilocal to make sure we werent getting trolled but it was right. They said it was good but just knowing they got jipped for the serving size, I give this place three stars for it. I told them to get gelato…
**TIPS**
1) This place is open until midnight and it doesnt get very crowded so you can chill here after dinner.
2) Do not get the waffle because you will get trolled with a quarter of a waffle.
3) Enjoy the gelato!

We wandered into Gelayo thinking it was a froyo shop based on the pics. Ok. We’re standing there confused. Where’s the froyo station? Those pics with the froyo should be deleted yo!
Anyways we tried their gelato. Pistachio for me with actual pistachios mixed in. The sweet and salty combo was excellent! Waay too sinful!
I noticed that the consistency is on the softer side. Almost like a soft serve. I like this consistency. But I’ve never met a gelato this soft. Not bad. I’m sure a lot of you will wonder as well!
Modern décor. Nice colorful tables and chairs. Clean.
They do serve shaved ice and nights like tonight would be an awesome treat!

Where’s the rest of my waffle?
Came here looking for a place that was open late and had dessert. Turned on my trusty Unilocal app and voila! Here I am!
Small cute place with its own parking lot. Not many people here later at night.
The main focus is their gelato even though they have a few gelato concoctions. I tried their cookies & cream gelato. It actually tasted a little too milky for me. Imagine freezing some whole milk and throwing in some oreo cookie pieces. Meh. Not really my thing. Their strawberry gelato is much better! Creamy and plenty of strawberry flavor!
By the way, small is way too small! Some other places give enough where you can share with someone, but not here. Better go for the medium if you’re looking at sharing.
Their dessert waffle was the biggest let down. For $ 5 you get ¼ of a waffle with one scoop of gelato and a few slices of strawberry. The description kn the board made it seem so much more grand! Skip this and just get the gelato.
Overall, this place was just okay. It’s not my first choice for gelato, but it’ll do in a crunch when all the other places are closed.

Maintenance Review.
Gelayo Gusto no longer carries Fro-​yo; At all.
And that was the only reason I came here. It’s just gelato and shave ice now. Time for a downgrade.
