Honeycreek is officially closed! This location must be cursed because it’s been about 4 different restaurants in the past 3 – 4 years. Yikes! RIP Honeycreek, I will miss your sweetpotato fries, strange atmosphere and absolutely terrible service… kinda… sorta…not really.

This place is so bad that it is hilariously comical. I really should have heeded the warnings from many bad reviews here, especially from all my friends. But it was late at night and it was either here or Denny’s — and nobody ever CHOOSES to go to Denny’s, you just kind of end up there. Service: These waitresses hate their jobs. They are incredibly unfriendly, impatient, and asking them for or about anything is like pulling teeth. I’m pretty sure one of them snarled at me. When I asked for clarification on one of the menu items, she rolled her eyes and heaved a huge sigh. Brick Toast: They charged $ 14 for this stale abomination to desserts everywhere. Even the oreos on here were old and nasty. And How on Earth do you not have ripe tasty bananas in the middle of a California summer?!? These were green, unripe bananas that tasted really bitter. Shaved snow: The fresh mangoes I ordered were very sad. They were green, unripe, and dried out. It looks like they’ve been refrigerated for too long. Drinks: Bland, watered down, and overpriced. TV: Blue screen of death. Are you effing kidding me? Music and ambiance: Looks posh and pretty and the music was pretty good until they were about to close. Then they started playing random obscure stuff aka as get the hell out music: P On the bright side, my friends and I had a great laugh over how terrible this place was and that in itself was a fun bonding moment.

I came by with a group of 4 on a Saturday night and it was basically full. We split a toast, which I thought was quite expensive until it arrived. 3 large scoops of ice cream on a square shaped toast about 5×5×5 inches. Even with 4 of us, it was a bit difficult to finish. I feel like this is a nice place to relax and catch up with friends and the environment definitely caters to the younger crowd.

Probably the only place in Mountain View that is actually open late until 1am, but only come here if you are craving dessert and have lots of time to wait around. The ambiance here is really confusing because they are trying to be a lounge with a dessert house you just want them to pick a theme and go with it. The service well its extremely slow, seems like they only ever have 1 waiter on staff who acts like a host and a waiter. The bubble tea was great and the huge Chocolate Honeytoast monstrosity which will take them about 30 minutes to make, is a great group snack. Their normal food is mediocre at best.

I don’t have much to say… Got a green tea snow with friends, added pudding as a topping. When it came, it looked kinda cool but honestly just tastes like the green tea ice cream that you get from ranch 99 in those big buckets. The only big difference is that it melts 10x faster and therefore gets nastier 10x faster. To be fair though, I think that’s what snow is but yeah. Just giving my personal opinion. The couches are super painfully purple but at least the servers are fairly quick and willing to accommodate larger numbers of people for groups. They have huge Tvs so you can watch the world cup while chilling here

Ok HoneyCreek, you didn’t disappoint me. It’s very rare that i will stop by Mountain view for Chinese/Taiwanese food. I normally either stay in SF or go down to Cupertino. I was surprised by the variety of food they serve. It feels like the serve a little bit of everything. There’s shaved ice, XLB, macarons, peking duck, takoyaki, and much more. They have a large drink menu and it’s hard to decide, but let’s not forget the popping boba martini. From the outside this place looks like a lounge. They have these really beautiful chandeliers and comfortable outdoors and indoor seating. It was odd listening to the music they were playing, first a little bit a John Legend, later little bit a LeeHom and later a little bit of 2ne1 along with Keisha. We ordered the XOXLB. and it had a little kick to it, there was a lot of juice but it was hard to eat it without chopsticks. The popcorn chicken was actually a very small portion, it wasn’t really worth the price. We shared the taro shaved ice, it was good, but it didn’t wow me. It cost 75 cents per topping, but some other places usually give you 2 free toppings. I ordered the Mango egg drink, and it turned out pretty good. You can’t really taste the egg. This is a pretty cool place to hang out, they have TVs there and they do broadcast the games. It’s nice to seat outside when the weather is nice and soak up the sun. Overall, I like this place and will def. be back!

At first glance you would think Honey Creek was a lounge or something when you first walk in and see all the lights and music. I came here with some friends for dessert and wanted to use the Groupon I purchased months ago. It’s a nicely decorated place with plush seats and pillows and crystal chandeliers. Fancy, huh? Besides the standard dessert options, they do offer entrees if you wanted a sit down meal. My review is only for the dessert and milk tea. They have a very extensive drinks menu with lots of tea options to choose from. They offer snow ice desserts along with Taiwan toast desserts and traditional Chinese deserts too! We shared the green tea snow ice with red beans and mochi. When it came out, I was surprised how large it was! You definitely need to share this with friends. In addition, I ordered the rose milk tea. It came out in a breaker-like container asking with a crazy straw. Like many places now, you can adjust your preferred level of sweetness and ice. This is a nice place to go if you’re looking for dessert after dinner in the area. Can’t wait to come back and try other tea options. —– Update: I did come back to try their Macaron Gala Honey Toast. It’s massive for two people to consume do bring some friends to help! Everything was good except the frozen raspberries and macarons. Service was spotty too so it’s really hit or miss here. I definitely liked their Taiwan Snow Ice best.

Came here with my family(party of 12) on a Monday night after 10PM. Place wasn’t crowded and they seated us pretty quickly. They have fast service, good food, and reasonably priced. #honeycreekcastro

I really like the purple plush seating and the décor. So chic. I shared an osmanthus shaved ice with red bean with a friend. The osmanthus had a strong floral flavor, so I would avoid if you don’t want to eat anything that resembles a flower. We added the red bean to provide texture to the shaved ice. Overall, I liked the shaved ice. One of the main downsides was that it was difficult to flag someone down for service. It wasn’t busy, so I’m not sure where the servers went.

Came here late for dessert with two of my friends. Their dessert/drink menu is quite extensive with lots of tea, brick toast, and shaved snow options. My guy friend was hungry, so he ordered the hainan chicken rice plate. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. It was also served with some lightly steamed broccoli with this… white sauce… that was a little sour… not something we really liked at all. We also ordered the pork xiao long bao(no shrimp because my friend is allergic to shellfish :(). It was tasty, but many of the dumplings had already been broken, so there was no soup to drink up. I’d say that if I were to come back, it would only be for dessert. We ordered a mango shaved snow with mangos, aloe, and mochi. The shaved snow was really good and they give a generous portion for the toppings. All in all, relatively good but not a standout. Price-wise, it’s reasonable, but not super cheap either.

This time I brought two of my friends and they really liked the place I used the Unilocal check in and got 5% off our order and I had a groupon! But they wouldn’t let me use both :/ We came at 5:15 so there was nobody but service was pretty slow. We asked for the tiramisu honeytoast but they didn’t have it… wait what? Why? Anyways the food came out quick but the honeytoast took more than 20 minutes to come out. It was still good though but I would opt for café lattea for Honeytoast instead. Either way not much improvement from last time

3.5 stars to be exact. I have been here a bunch of times because it’s one of the few dessert places in the area that is still open after I get off work. I like to come here for their 24 oz $ 3 draft beer during happy hour. Starting with their food… I have tried several food items from here and I would have to say it is really not that good, but just decent. They do have a really long menu and it can get quite confusing trying to pick something to eat out of the 2 – 3 pages of dishes. This can be a pain when you’re starving and you are still reading on the first page after five minutes. But if you like variety this place should work for you. As far as dessert, I believe that they specialize in drinks/dessert so yeah, it is quite good to be honest. I’ve tried several drinks here and I have to agree with some other Unilocalers that the drinks are overpriced for mediocre quality. The only ones that stand out to me is their shaved snow and the matcha green milk tea with green tea ice-cream. The Osmanthus snow, to be exact. I believe that I’ll be here all summer this year for the shaved snow. The only thing I would advise not to get is the brick toast; Verde’s down the street has better ones. Service is very friendly, but there was once or twice when I had to wait for my food longer than I should have. As a server I can tell when someone says the food is on the way, but really they forgot to send in my order. They are also very helpful with the menu.

I have been looking for snow ice in the Bay Area for 2.5 years now. I have been to a few places that serve it and heard of others, but by far, HoneyCreek has the best one that I’ve tried! Not only do they have a wide variety of flavors, sauces and toppings, but they also have the right consistency. The portion is large, great to share! Two of my friends and I went last night, and we each ordered our own. If I went with one person, I might just share one… But here’s the breakdown of what we ordered — Osmanthus Mango w/Condensed Milk Taro w/Condensed Milk and Lychee Jelly Snow ice on it’s own is $ 6.99. Sauces are additional; however, condensed milk is free. Then toppings are either an additional $ 0.75 or $ 1.00 each, depending on what was selected. The way that we ordered(inclusive or exclusive of sauces/toppings) was actually perfect for each flavor. Osmanthus, a floral flavor, was sweet on it’s own. If anything additional was added, it would just have been too sweet. It was subject to debate at the table whether the mango needed or didn’t need the condensed milk. But we all agreed that the taro with condensed milk and lychee jelly was a great combination. An observation worth noting — as the snow ice melted, the mango flavoring started tasting more and more artificial. My friends said that they noticed grittiness, probably due to powdered flavoring used. Then as the osmanthus melted, it started getting sweeter, almost syrup like sweet. However, even if the taro is artificially flavored(and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was), it still held up it’s flavor. When I go back, I definitely want to try the green tea and rose flavors. I think it’s great that Downtown Mt View has a café like HoneyCreek. It’s something that fits a growing need — open late, serves a wide variety of drinks(alcoholic and non), has food, snacks, and dessert. I was never fond of the previous options that were available. So, «way to go!»

The flight of drinks were fun to sample and share amongst a group of friends if saliva sharing isn’t an issue. The wine selection was reasonable enough to cover your basics and each glass averaged around $ 9 – 10. The beers come in tall glasses and average $ 5. The selection of food seems impressive but it’s all the same things you’d find at any restaurant in Milpitas Square with the same taste and portions but $ 5 more. The peking duck was the winning dish. Everything about this dish was comparable to a nicer restaurant so this bird was taken apart quickly. The most interesting drink ordered was the taro milk tea with rum. It’s served in a very tall glass and it was more thick in texture. The honeydew shaved ice had small boba balls that popped in your mouth making the little orbs more fun to eat than the ice itself. The wonton noodles were good but not memorable. The interior is hip enough for a ‘young adult’ hangout spot but also pretty enough that several families and young kids can be spotted. The lounge seats seem fancy but they’re light and easy to move around. The service was great and our order was brought out quickly. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly to our table and joked with us the entire time.

I don’t know why this place has such low reviews? It’s actually a really solid place and one of a kind I would say in the Bay Area. Can’t really think of any other place that offers brick toast and such an extensive dessert and food menu nearby. I guess I can see how it could be a bit overkill, but it’s still a solid place and the people are really nice. Anyways, this is the third restaurant that’s been in this location since 2012… interesting to see if this place is cursed or something? Every restaurant that’s been here I thought was fine, but we’ll see if Honeycreek does better. My friend and I came in for post-dinner dessert and ordered the macaron brick toast which was excellent. I got a small milk tea which was served in this extremely nice fancy cup and was actually very solid. No complaints about the milk tea. Price was good too. I don’t see myself frequenting this place for milk tea but I would frequent it as a chill late night hangout in Mountain View. It’s open until midnight on weekdays which is definitely really nice. The brick toast was solid. Sizable portion for a reasonable price. There’s also a ridiculously extensive menu here and I’m excited to try it out. tldr; solid, unique place and new addition to downtown Mountain View. Give it a go! Pretty sure you’ll enjoy it

Just got here earlier tonight at around 8pm… there was a wait. but it was not too bad. Good thing about this place is that it has Food, Snacks, Milk-tea drinks, desserts like shaved snow and honey toast and a Full Bar. It is such a nice combination. The place is new. The chairs are very comfy. The servers were extremely friendly and nice and very attentive. Food was not too bad: — Beijing duck: we ordered the whole duck. The skin was crispy, and it came with steamed buns. yum!!! — Hainan chicken noodles: decent — Fried tofu in stewed sauce: Very good! The tofu was really soft inside and crispy outside. It was not soggy at all even thou it was covered with sauce. — Pork Dumplings and XO flavored Pork Dumplings(XiaoLongBao): They tasted the same. — Beef Briskets with Rice: okay-good Desserts: — Shaved Snow — green tea flavor with red beans and condensed milk: It is alright– same as Snow Flakes but not as good as Class 302 in SoCal — Honey Toast — mango: It is pretty good. definitely better than Tea Papa. It came with honey on the side which is a brilliant idea because everyone has their own levels of sweetness — Tea: very cute tea-pots(small ones) will definitely come back for more drinks and some alcohol drinks also .hehe

Shaved snow craving at a late hour, decided to come here since they were new and opened late. Despite how crowded the place was at that hour, we managed to get seated pretty quickly. Check out the menu and decided to get our individual drinks and split a ‘Macaron Gala’ toast and Honeydew snow between the five of us. Our server punched in our order and we waited for our food/drinks to come out. Our drinks came out in about 15 minutes. Everyone got their drinks correct, except for me. They made my barley milk tea cold instead of hot; got sent to the back to be remade. After about another 10 minutes, our desserts finally came out. I also made an order of the fried chicken to have something savory at the table since we had so many sweets. The Macaron Gala was good but I thought it was too sweet for me. This is great if you have a REALLY big sweet tooth. The snow ice was good as well but it was a bit on the heavy sweet side too. It was light and refreshing like Snowflake’s snow in Fremont. Big bummer for me. After about another 10 minutes after getting our dessert, I realized my milk tea still hasn’t been made yet. How long does it take to make a hot barley milk tea? Shortly after asking about my drink to a different server, my drink came out, finally. Our service here was OK. The server that we had didn’t really check up on our table that much to make sure we had everything we order. She didn’t really smile too, while serving us. Props to the tall Asian girl for fixing my friend Lucy’s order and mine as well. Snowzen is right down the street from this place. Will most likely checkout their snow next time when I’m in the area.

It’s a nice Taiwanese café, a great addition to Castro street dining scene! The place is decorated more like a lounge than a chinese restaurant, very interesting! I ordered the roasted duck rice plate and my gf got the chicken hainan rice plate. We also shared the deep fried crispy pork chop and Xiao Long Bao(Shanghai style dumpling with soup inside!) I must say I was impressed with the xiao long bao. They were larger than the more authentic Xiao Long Bao BUT the flavor was pretty good and the skin was not too thick(although, it would be even better if the skin was thinner). The price was also good, I think it was like $ 5.95 for 6 pieces. The pork chop was crispy and not greasy, good portion to share. My roast duck plate was pretty good. The duck was fatty, the way it should be! but if you’re not a fan of fatty duck(and prefer skinny duck), you won’t be loving this dish. The portion was good too. My friend’s chicken hainan rice had really little amount of chicken, lots of rice only! We were too full for dessert but I saw other tables ordering desserts, they looked sooooo goooooddddd!!! A great place to hang out with friends, but the I must say that the seats are not very comfortable for«dining» purposes as the back supports were way too far back, they were like couches! They are fancy but not very functional for a restaurant. Will go back to check out their desserts!

New dessert place on Castro! My friends and I came here on a Friday night, around midnight. It was pretty late so their kitchen was closing since the place closed at 1 am. They were still really accommodating and the desserts were available but not the entrees. The place is really fancy! It has a lounge feel to it which is what they were going for. They are super big on velvet which is why it feels like a lounge/club. The service was really good here, I felt like our waiter was helpful. The hostess was slightly confused. She told us that the place was closing at midnight but it was actually closing at 1 am so that was confusing. We got the GREENTEASHAVEDICE with mochi topping and condensed milk. The condensed milk comes free with the shaved ice but you still have to tell them that you want to add it on. There were other sauces like brown sugar but we wanted something simple. They had toppings from .50 cents to 1.00 dollar depending on what you want. They had a variety of different toppings to choose from. The shaved ice was okay in flavor but I didn’t think it was smooth. I’ve had better shaved ice before. The mochi was hard, it wasn’t chewy so that was a little disappointing. The portion of the shaved ice was pretty small too, definitely perfect for 2 – 3 people not 5. We also got the MACARONBRICK Toast and I liked this dessert better than their shaved ice. The little bread/toast pieces they put inside the brick toast is amazing. They coat it in butter and it tasted sooo good, it was my favorite part of the whole dessert. They gave only 3 small macarons on the entire thing and the rest were fruits and ice cream and bread. I feel like their brick toast is as good as any other ones you can get. I also ordered their green milk tea with half sugar and half ice. you can customize your drink to the way you like it, which was great. Their drinks come in really weird cups, different from any other places. I thought the drink was okay, a little too bitter but that’s probably because i asked for half sugar. You can really taste the tea. Overall, I think I would come back here again probably earlier than an hour before closing. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was great, and the food was okay. It’s a nice hangout spot in Mountain View.

A fancy boba/shaved«snow» & Taiwanese food restaurant has landed in downtown Mountain View & I am super excited for them! Came here yesterday with a group of coworkers to try their snows. «Snow» is different from shaved ice since shaved ice is «ice» based and«snow» is frozen milk based. They have 10 flavors and I was able to try 5 of them: — COFFEE — strong coffee flavor — HONEYDEW — surprisingly good(I’m generally not a fan of honeydew, but the flavor is on point) — MILK — light and refreshing(just the way I like it); probably the best neutral flavor to add all kinds of toppings — TARO — hint of taro flavor — GREENTEA — strong tea flavor; best with condensed milk added I think their Snow is what sets them apart from the nearby gelato, froyo & boba stores on Castro. Their prices are a lil steep, but considering the ambiance + prime downtown location, it makes sense. They also have a complete menu full of boba drinks, milk teas, Taiwanese hot foods, macaroons, appetizers(including soup dumplings!) etc that I still need to try. I’ll definitely be back! #nowimhungry
