This truck reminded me of Hiyaaa!!, so I was quite excited to try it. You pick from differently seasoned proteins served over your choice of carbs. My favorite item from Hiyaaa! is the spicy fried chicken bites over fries, so I got the same thing here as a benchmark comparison. Sadly, it was very much«Meh. I’ve experienced better.», hence the 2 stars. Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken: The chicken was really dense and tough. The breading felt like a halfhearted battering you’d get from a mediocre fish & chips joint. The sweet & spicy sauce was nice, but was only sparsely drizzled on. Sadly, you can get better glazed fried chicken at Panda Express. Garlic Noodles: Not terribly garlicky. Some of the sweet & spicy sauce dripped on the noodles, masking any flavor they may have had by themselves. The texture was a nice al dente, but it just had no personality. Seasoned Fries: Not terribly seasoned. Kinda just run-of-the-mill fries like you might get a nondescript pub.

SERVICE: If I could give this truck more stars I would. Not based just on the great good but what put this place over the top for me was the good vibes, great advice, and sense of hard work and passion you see in these guys. They made a point to greet me in a individual way and strike up a quick conversation while taking my order while at the same time making sure I got exactly what I wanted. I asked the usual how’s business and how mobile feast had a great turn out, it was nice to get an actual real answer and a little history about the food truck while the promptly and precisely preparing my food. After the conversation they even made it a point to shake my hand and introduce themselves after. FOOD: all in all the food was the bomb. They have a great selection of local seasonal choices that can satisfy almost any pallet. I got the chicken curry with rice and garlic noodles and everything was on point. Curry is my favorite food and i am an extremely picky curry eater. This curry did not disappoint right amount of spice for everyone to enjoy. The garlic noodles were really good and they didn’t clump together and get mushy like a lot of garlic noodles do which is a huge plus. In the end I look forward to seeing these guys again and you can tell they are in the food truck business for all the right reasons. Thanks for the good vibes and awesome meal guys. –Bernard

Nice people. Their garlic chicken bowl is great. They’re also pretty fast for food trick vendors.

I had been meaning to update my review but kept forgetting to. The owner read my review about the bad noodles and promptly offered my friend and me a refund. Plus one star for having good customer service! I’d go back to give it another try.

MoBowl’s one of my favorite Off the Grid options at 5th and Minna. Nice people, consistently good food that comes out relatively quick. I’ve never waited for more than 10 mins after ordering. The bowl consists of two sides(noodles, rice, salad, fries) and a main. They definitely don’t skimp on the protein here — really filling lunch for $ 10-$ 12 pre-tip, I’ve been able to stretch it out to two small meals. I usually get one of two these bowls because the others seem heavy: Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower(vegan) $ 11 — not sure why the vegetable option costs more. Hearty and filling, crisp outside /soft inside brussel sprouts and cauliflower. Amazing seasoning, toasted sesame, caramelized onions a little on the oily side but still tasty! My bowl came with quinoa which I didn’t see listed in the description and would have omitted. Peanut Pesto Chicken $ 10 — The pesto is a crumbled, cilantro minty peanut mix with a green mayo(aioli?) sauce drizzled on. Chicken was fresh and tender. Sides: Fries — Thicker cut, crispy outside, slightly soft inside Garlic Noodles — Chewy, denser, only slightly garlicky but enough to linger on your breath. If I’m getting garlic it better be all in: P Salad — Mixed greens, shredded carrots, onion Definitely worth trying out if they’re around.

Really unimpressed. I have eaten off this food truck countless times and i never enjoy what i end up eating. The flavors are so masked i cant tell what im eating. Im usually not a picky eater but i dont see myself coming back here.

Curiosity led me to MoBowl when I found out it was stationed at SFSU for lunch. I had grown tired of the on-campus food vendors, so I gave MoBowl a shot and was pleasantly surprised! For $ 10, I had the peanut pesto rice bowl. The sauce was packed with flavor, while the chicken was tender and moist. It’s a nice option for those who are looking for a balanced meal, as it comes with a side salad and you can choose brown rice. You can also get fries instead of the side salad for those days you want to treat yourself. Definitely looking forward to trying more MoBowl dishes next semester.

I work near the GFood Lounge on occasion. I was torn between this place and the Chairman which is one of my very favorites. I’m always looking to try something new so I went here instead of my beloved Chairman. I got the fried chicken. I like the flavor and crunch of the coating but it wasn’t too deeply covered like other places making it impenetrable. The chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful. I’m really looking forward to trying them again. Fried Chicken«is my beat fuel»

I wouldn’t have known about MoBowl if it wasn’t for the live music + wine event at SoMa. The menu has a variety of Asian fusion bowls to choose from. I ordered a five-spice pulled pork bowl with garlic noodles and salad. My friend got a curry chicken bowl with fries and salad. The garlic noodles did not have too much garlic flavor, and had texture similar to Panda Express’ noodles. I’m a fan of al dente noodles so I enjoyed the texture. The five-spice pork was unfortunately too salty; I couldn’t finish it after I ran out of noodles and salad. The flavor lacked depth that traditional Chinese five-spice pork is known for, so it definitely didn’t live up to its name. Although five-spice pulled pork was bit of a disappointment, the curry chicken bowl with fries was the bomb. The chicken was tender and each bite was wrapped in curry. The thin fries added complexity to the texture and flavor of the curry. I would definitely get that next time.

MoBowl is a pretty good Asian fusion food truck, so I was surprised to see that it didn’t have any reviews on Unilocal.I got lunch here on a weekday, and it was the most popular food truck in the G Food Truck Lounge. Very popular with office workers in the area. Building a bowl starts by choosing two grains. They have normal options like white /brown rice, but you can also get fries, garlic noodles, or a salad. I got brown rice and the salad with pulled pork. Whatever marinade they used on the five spice pulled pork was amazing and I would put it on everything. The portion size was fairly generous for $ 10 — some people might even think it’s too much meat.(There were a few people in our group who didn’t finish all the food.) My only complaint is with the spicy salad dressing. Not only was it not spicy, it was so watery that most of it collected at the bottom of the container, making the rice soggy and washing away some of the pork’s flavor. You should definitely try to get the salad in a separate container.

Four stars for their garlic noodles. Didn’t get to try anything else but hire garlic noodles were so good! Perfect weight egg noodles with a generous serving of garlic. Most places are scared to go all in with the garlic and it ends up being not enough. Def not the case here. Can’t wait til I see them again, I’ll have two orders

This review is for the food truck which makes it’s way into the SF Truck Stop line up in SOMA. On a cold San Francisco day, my colleagues & I braved the wind to embark on a new journey. There was resistance and almost a revolt, but to Mo’ Bowl it was. A new flavor, a new experience. In search of warmth, I got the Sweet and Spicy Chicken with the two sides: brown rice and fries. Improperly prepared, I skipped the Fried egg on top. Upon devouring the bowl, though pricey at 11, was worth it. I lived for another day, lasting for another bowl, with the firm reminder to get the fried egg on top next time. The other soldiers all approved.

SOGOOD! Pure deliciousness, and the portions are very generous! I don’t know why people complain about the prices. The amount of food and the variety of flavors are way better than most trucks at Off the Grid. The portions and the flavorful combinations completely compensate for the prices. Today I tried the the Pesto Chicken on garlic noodles. The box was filled to the brim, overflowing even, and could easily feed 2 or even more people. I paid $ 11 and will have multiple meals out of it. Lunch today and more for lunch for tomorrow! That’s well worth it. The pesto chicken is so flavorful, the pesto is more like an asian cilantro mint pesto with peanuts, drizzled on generous pieces of grilled boneless skinless chicken, packed with super yummy savory spices. The chicken is grilled with charred spices that remind me of No piece tastes dry, and the flavors make me want to go back for more. The garlic noodles are a perfect compliment. Not the very best garlic noodles that I’ve had, but they were still very good. The truck was super friendly, prices were great, and the portions were hearty. To top it off the food is absolutely delicious — they are spot on with their spices! I say check it out the next time you see it around town. I can’t wait to try other dishes from them next time!

LOVED MoBowl. For once there’s a truck that isn’t insanely overpriced for the amount of food you get. My bowl had a brown rice and salad base(excellent house dressing) with brussels sprouts and cauliflower and peanut pesto chicken. Amazing flavors, tender brussels sprouts, and delicious food. Will definitely come back to try other bowls at this truck!

I tried MoBowl at Off the Grid at 5th and Townsend on a Friday. MoBowl by far had the longest line so I had to try it out. Their line still moved fast and our food came out within minutes. COST: $ 21 total for 2 bowls, a filling lunch for two. * Umami Tofu(Vegan. Organic tofu, shitakes & tomato compote w/scallions & sesame seeds) — 3 stars pic, w/salad side: The sauce was too americanized, like a generic sweet & sour. The tofu was quite hard. I thought the asparagus was random and seemed out of place. My veg friend really liked this though. * Five-Spice Pulled Pork(braised pork, 5 spice, honey, siracha aioli) — 3.5 stars pic, w/garlic noodle side: Not very spicy, a bit dry, but still tasty, and much better than the Umami Tofu. The noodles were soft and garlic-y as promised; also quite oily(that pool of oil at the bottom of the container isn’t super appetizing). Menu:

This food truck came to my work for our Food Truck Friday events we have every 3rd Friday. We got a choice of one entrée and 2 sides. I chose the garlic noodles, the salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and sweet and spicy fried chicken. The noodles were delicious. Flavorful and garlicy. The meat was just ehh. Like most of it was good and crispy just the way I like, but a few were doused in too much sauce and not enough breading. The salad had dark leafy greens which were good, but there was barely any dressing — which I guess is better than too much dressing. Good but not great.

1÷27÷15: Wow, well whaddya know… I gave this truck a 3 in my last review, but today’s food was great! I’ve never jumped a score by 2 before, ’till now! 1. Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken $ 10: K, first for the bad – it looks like they raised their prices. Oh well. Now as for the food… Chicken: As I noted in my previous review they don’t use the chicken skin, which sux, but the chicken is still cooked tenderly. There appears to be a mix of dark and white meat, and as expected the dark meat is tastier, but the white meat isn’t dry and cooked pretty well, just like last time’s Pesto Chicken. The coating is awesome though! – very crunchy and flavorful. Sauce is great too – tastes good, and they didn’t smother everything with it so you could still taste the awesomely fried chicken. 9⁄10. Brown Rice(side): MUCH better than before! I dunno if they saw what I wrote last time, but either way it certainly was addressed. Completely perfectly cooked. 7⁄10.(Can’t give more than 7 unfortunately cause it’s just standard rice, nothing special, but props for the perfection!) Fries(side): REALLYGOODFRIES! I love the texture and the savory taste! I LOVE fried stuff, and I hate it when people attempt to make healthy fried stuff. This ain’t healthy. And it’s awesome. I dunno if it’s just my imagination, but it seems to even have picked up some meaty taste – VERY flavorful! 10⁄10. I didn’t get the garlic noodles – wonder if they improved that as well? Anyway, today was awesome. 5⁄5 well deserved. #truck #chinese #healthy

So grateful for this new food truck fad that’s sweeping the country. MoBowl is one the better food trucks I’ve sampled on campus at Stanford, and their spicy fried chicken + noodles(see photo) was impressively flavorful. And as all food trucks are wont to do, the food tends to run a bit on the pricey side. Worth checking out!

Wow long lines for this truck! Food is made somewhat quickly. 5 spice pulled pork garlic noodles and fries $ 11. Garlic noodles weren’t special IMO. Just a hint of garlic taste. Fries topped with aioli sauce was delicious. The fries were already a little seasoned so even without the sauce, it is still good. Pulled pork was cooked nicely. Next time, I’d skip the noodles and get double the fries!
