I was looking for a cheap starter guitar and this place was a good choice. The young man running the shop was knowledgeable and helped me pick out a guitar in my price range. He gave me a discount off the sticker price that made it comparable to what you can find on the internet, otherwise it would have been a little on the pricey side. I’ll definitely come back in the future. I feel like I got a good guitar for a reasonable price.

Do not bring any string instruments here for repair. Long story short, I ended up paying $ 50 for them to break my violin bow, cover this up, then shoddily rehair it only to have half of the hair fall out one month later. I later brought my bow to a true string instrument store to have it fixed. Perhaps this store is okay for the K-​12 grade student musician, but don’t trust them with any kind of repairs.

Small store tucked in the back with a good selection of instruments. Extremely friendly, helpful, and didn’t push additional products. In fact, he told me I didn’t need to buy anything else and common household items would work for my needs. I mentioned I was a beginner in strings (but an advanced musician) and he proceed to offer tips and tricks and probably would have gave a mini lesson if I stayed longer!
Minus one star because the item I bought seemed a bit on the high side and only a small selection of books and accessories.
I forgot to use but if you’re going, there’s a 10% off coupon through google maps.

We rented an instrument for our school age child. We had an issue (out of our control) in regard to our credit card. We called and left a message to give them our new bank card number. We didn’t receive a call back (wasn’t going to leave our bank card number on an answering machine). Someone from the store called about a month later and left a message with our 11 year old saying that he was going to call the POLICE on us! We didn’t receive anything in mail, just two calls, which we returned. We will be using West Valley Music next time. We went to Norm’s based on a referral from a friend and it was a huge mistake.

Nice little music store next to the freeway in Mountain View, with a large selection of inexpensive woodwinds, brass, and string instruments. The proprietor is very friendly and ready to swap stories. I’ll definitely be back.
