Shoreline Kite Flying Park

Right next to the amphitheater. A lot of wind when I went. Just stay away from the tall pole, your kite will get caught on it. I call it the kite liberator.

High as a kite… ON LIFE!
This is the best place to have picnic, hang out with friends, and enjoy a relaxing day outside! There is plenty of parking (if you arrive before noon) and even if you don’t have time to buy a kite, you can sit in the grass and watch other kites, planes, and clouds float by.
I really enjoyed myself here, but some other folks came really close to bothering me just a little bit. There were a few parents yelling at their toddlers for various reasons and others flyers would get too close to one-​another – resulting in tangled lines and shattered dreams. Looking back, those moments were actually pretty funny (but it was distracting at the time).
A big plus is that this place is easily accessible for cyclists and there is a dog park on the other side of the fence! Also, my allergies were not triggered here and I was very pleasantly surprised. In short, this is the best FREE activity I’ve come across in the Silicon Valley and I highly recommend going here.

My favorite place to fly kites! They did a really good job choosing this spot because every time I come here there’s always just enough wind to fly my kite. This place is really great for adults and young kids learning how to fly their first kite. There are times when people are here «wind skating». Haha have no clue what it’s called but they fly a big ol kite and let it pull them while they ride on their skateboard. It’s pretty amazing to watch. I this place to be the number 1 spot to fly a kite.

The Best place to fly a kite, that’s all i gotta say

Great open field. Great gusts of wind to get all kites off the ground. Some benches, but mostly dirt and green weeds. Parking lot is too small, but you can find additional parking at the dog park.
