You may be asking yourself, why in the heck would Rebecca O. be seeing a Geriatric Specialist? (At least I hope so!) The answer, dear Unilocalers, is that my soon to be 90 year old Grandma is a patient of Dr. Nichols and she and I both really like him. He’s very good at communicating effectively (read more loudly) with an older patient, and explaining things in a way that is easy to understand without being pedantic.
He’s very thorough in his assessments and considers the total health and needs of his patients when making recommendations. For example, my Grandma has a heart condition that can only be corrected with open heart surgery. Dr. Nichols did not recommend that she undergo open heart surgery, but rather that she have a non invasive test, so that he can accurately assess her current health, and treat her most effectively considering her age.
It’s hard to get an appointment with him — he’s in demand because he’s that good! Highly recommended for patients 75 plus. (We should all be so lucky!)
