Have known this place for almost thirty years since I was young child and even spent four years(from 1st to 4th grade) at Theuerkauf(the elementary school that shares the space with Stevenson), so it brings back a lot of memories. The main purpose of this park is outdoor and sporting activities. They have three open playgrounds(not including the one for very small children in front of the school and on San Luis Street or the one located inside the day care center, which is only open to the public on the weekends). They are often filled with neighborhood families and children and all keep the little ones occupied for a good minute. If you are bringing the kids to play early in the morning, bring a towel to wipe off some of the areas of the playground as they are usually a little wet and slippery(if there’s been some drizzling). They also have three baseball fields, but one is basically just a small practice field. They have two regular fields that are home to local girls’ softball games the majority of the time. You will also see a lot of Indian men playing cricket on the weekends(on the field off of Montecito). On the large field of grass separating the three baseball fields, you’ll often see a soccer game going on or kids’ practices for different sports. They also have three tennis courts on the other end. It’s usually empty, but in case it’s filled, remember to check the manual clock timers for each court on the San Pierre Street side. Used to play here all the time when I was a child with all my cousins. Good times. Basketball courts are the best ones out there, but they are more than good enough for most of the people who come here looking for a casual game of hoops with friends. And, contrary to the other review on this place, they do have public bathrooms(which were open to the public at 6:15am this past week when I actually walked through everywhere to snap photos). Extremely safe neighborhood and lovely park to come to if you feel in the mood to get some exercise, as there are just so many sports you can choose to play here with all the great fields and courts available!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Mountain View, CA
Very nice large park with large well maintained open fields that are used by many Mountain View community recreation programs. There are not very many trees that offer shade at Stevenson Park since this park’s main use is for organized sports and not so much for a park that people just hang out and relax in the shade at. There are trees but not a lot so make sure you take your sun screen. 3 full sized softball fields(Bobby Sox Softball) 1 softball batting cage 1 full basketball court Tennis courts Water fountains No doggie poop bags No bathrooms
