So bummed to find out that they are closed! Loved that they served their lox bagels with sprouts and will miss their cheaper prices…

This place was amazing. I swung by today for some bagels but they seem to have closed down. I hope it is simply a relocation.

Quiet, wifi access. Nobody here. Good place to hide and do work on code. Not loud. Less crowded than starbucks.

4 bagels each with only tomato and cucumber and they charged us for veggie bagels that have several more toppings. $ 17! Universe please send them some positive energy, theyll need it after accruing so much bad karma for highway robbery.

Yet another Asian owned bagel place in the bay area. Seriously, Asian people really like to own bagel places(bagels aren’t in any way Asian) — I wonder if there is a specific reason for that? This place looks like any other bagel place. Old looking tables, teenage Asian girl sweeping, tons of bagels in the bins behind the counter… but the bagels are pretty good. They are chewy and pretty delicious. Not close to an east coast bagel, but better than many others in the area, like its name implied. I just hope that they could make the place cleaner looking…

The store front isn’t the most modern or updated but this place has been a small«mom and pop» business for over 20 years supporting many within the community. I’m a huge fan of small business owners and they have such integrity; the Better Bagel in the wake of the economic downturn have raised their bagel prices $ 0.10 in the last 7 years I’ve been going there. This is a great value for what you get with exceptional bagels. I’ve tried bagels from around the United States and I have not had a better bagel anywhere else! Honestly. As many others have said, they need to change their name to THEBESTBAGEL. Suggestions: Poppy seed bagel, the sundried tomato w/chive cream cheese, or the plain with plain cream cheese/fresh tomatoes/red onion. This place will not disappoint.

Bagels are okay but nothing amazing. I prefer Posh Bagel over these bagels. Main reason is because the bagel is very dense and chewy, too chewy and thick for my liking. I like the lighter fluffier bagels from Posh. Ive tried the pesto and asiago bagels, they are good but nothing to crave for. The pesto bagel at Posh is definitely better. Overall not a bad bagel shop, it depends on your bagel preference. But I do like the wide variety of breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches offered here.

Believe the hype! Move over Noah’s bagels! The Better Bagel’s bagels are so soft and chewy, you don’t have to yank the bagel out of your teeth. And you can choose what type of cream cheese you want — i usually prefer their veggie spread. They also have a large assortment of bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches(you must try the croissant sandwiches!!), and the staff is always super nice!

I ordered a bacon egg & cheese with avocado, it tastes all right, nothing exceptional. I also ordered a latte, it does’t have any flavor and tastes horrible.

Tried the bagel & lox on a sesame bagel and the egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on a pesto and cheese bagel. I was a little underwhelmed by both. The bagel & lox was pretty unconventional — they used cucumber, bean sprouts and tomato in it. It definitely gave it a more fresh and crisp taste, but it the salmon was a bit flavorless. The egg, bacon and cheese bagel was alright, but the flavor was a little bland as well. I don’t think that I will be back, but I thought the food was alright. I like bagels that are a little lighter and fluffier, and these are definitely more on the chewy side.

The name doesn’t lie. I needed something quick after running errands on my lunch break, so I dropped by and ordered. The sliced lox and cream cheese on egg bagel was packed with salmon and also balanced, so stuff didn’t fly out as soon as I took a bite. It also is priced lower than other lox bagels I’ve had in the past and was quickly made. Great prices, great bagels. It really is the better bagel.

Quick and Delicious. Good Coffee and Good Prices. Got a few free donut holes last time I went as well. That’s a plus. I would recommend the Jalipeno Cheese bagel, really good.

They need to change their name to The BEST Bagel! Sunday morning run followed by a pit stop at the Better Bagel. As I ended my run through the nob hill shopping center I came across this little bagel shop. Walking up to the storefront I notice nothing special. Walking inside, nothing out of the ordinary. Looking up at the menu and their bagel selection, nothing impressive. I was hungry so I ordered a breakfast bagel on a sesame seed. Must’ve been my lucky day! Everything came together quite nicely with the fluffy egg, the melted cheese, the bacon and a freshly baked bagel. I was so impressed I went back in to order a few more plain sesame seed bagels. Unbelievably soft and chewy. The bagels here are incredible. Unlike bagels from other spots, they do not tear in a ripping fashion. These bagels are, for lack of a better word, sticky? I’ll definitely continue to come here. My housemates and I agree that these are the best bagels we’ve had. They do run out of selections sometimes, so try to visit them early~! The prices are competitive with any other bagel shop in the area.

My biggest gripe with this place? It’s not Izzy’s in Palo Alto. The bagels here are pretty good but each time I come here, I’m like«why didn’t I just drive to Izzy’s and get the better bagel».

What can I say about this bagel shop? I’M ADDICTED! I come here almost every morning before work to get a bagel and a medium cup of their French Roast coffee. They have a wide selection of bagels you can choose from. They have a selection of cream cheeses you can choose from to put on your bagel, and/or you can choose a bagel sandwhich if you like. I’ve tried a few of their morning bagel omelettes with«the works» and the garlic bagel. –The Mediterrean — its alright, it has mushrooms, egg, sun dried tomatoes, cheese, and I forgot what else — it’s not my favorite. I think it was the sun dried tomatoes that ruined it for me. –The infamous cheese, egg, and bacon omelette! Who doesn’t like bacon?! The bacon tastes real compared to other sandwhich places due to the bacon being really crunchy and tasty =) *This is good with the garlic bagel! –The Baja bagel — mushrooms, egg, cheese, and jalapenos. This is the omelette for you spicy lovers out there. They add a lot of jalapenos so beware! –The sausage, egg and cheese bagel is good as well, but it’s not something I’ll get every day. Besides the specialty bagels, I’ve also tried their cinnamon raisin bagel with low fat cream cheese. DEEELISH if you want something plain. I also love how they sell mini bagels at a reasonable price. They’re just the right size for my little kidlings! I give them 5 stars for excellent customer service, a variety selection of bagels, and their awesome bagel omelettes!

I’m such a creature of habit — once I find something I like, I rarely stray from the usual. Veggie Bagel with no onions, sesame seed bagel, add avocado. I now walk in and one of the girls will just look at me, nod, and start making my bagel. Every now and then I will order a sandwich for lunch and change it up a bit, but I always go back to the *usual*. I like that I can come here, always see the same faces — and it feels like a small town store. Everyone knows you and vice versa. I wouldn’t change a thing!

I LOVE bagels, always have. Unfortunately, of all the amazing food and assorted ethnicity’s of food in the Bay Area, there just isn’t any good Jewish food,(bagels included.) My guy had brought me a bagel from here a long time ago, and since we live nearby now, we decided to stop in last weekend. I absolutely LOVE that they have mini bagels! Truthfully, the mini bagels are the size we all should be eating. As much as i love a big bagel, it’s just way too many calories for one item,(especially one that doesn’t provide much nutrition.) We did buy a few of the regular size bagels because we wanted to taste the whole wheat and the egg. We split them over a weekend, and they stayed the perfect consistency, even after two days. Although,(fortunately) my favorite flavor was the plain mini. I won’t be making a habit of eating bagels all the time, but I will definitely be back for the minis. They had great flavor, perfect texture… They were truly so very good.

Allow me to add my voice to the chorus of praise for The Better Bagel. I stopped in yesterday for a breakfast-for-lunch bagel. I got a plain bagel with sliced lox, cream cheese, and tomatoes. I have to say that it was the best I’ve had so far in Silicon Valley. The bagel itself was golden out the outside and soft inside — not too sweet, not too bread-y. The lox was fresh and plentiful. The tomato was a little«eh,» but for $ 6.25, I feel like I got my money’s worth.(Best of all, it’s not Noah’s!!) The place was clean, and I was able to sit for as long as I needed. In addition, they have free WiFi. I didn’t try their coffee(they serve Peerless, which I’ve enjoyed at other places) or other beverages, but if I’m in the area, I’d return again and try other bagel and drink options.
