After trying Echo Tap and Grille a number of times, it has earned a solid 3 stars — not bad by any means, but not exceptionally good, either. On our first occasion there was an hour wait which was totally fine — we grabbed a couple glasses of wine from the bar and relaxed near the fireplaces, which were great. The place is huge and the ambience is great in some areas, while others lack personality — which is totally fine, I just want to set expectations. When we finally sat we ordered dinner and appetizers — I had the molcajete bowl and the food was fine, but not phenomenal. The waitstaff was friendly enough. We had a pretty good experience. On our next trip we went with another couple for brunch, and were not super pleased. One of the people in our party found a piece of an eggshell in their omelette — which happens, I get it — but another guest disliked their eggs benedict so much that they didn’t eat ¾ of it. I got an omelette and it was totally fine — not the most amazing thing I’ve ever had, but a good omelette. Nobody in our party left with the feeling that we had to recommend the brunch to anybody — next time we’ll try a different spot. All-in-all, we’d return to Echo but are definitely not itching to. I think we went in with sky-high expectations and had to be brought back down to earth. Still, we’ll be back at some point to try again.

Was here for brunch on Saturday with the ladies! The food was really good the potatoes were really dry… stick with the side salad if you get the chicken omelet! Over all the ambience here is really nice and they have sangria pitchers for $ 15 at all times! That’s a pretty good deal! The firepit inside is really nice too and romantic :) anyway would I be back? Yesss the service was on point too!

The drinks were so good! Try the blueberry mojito or the pineapple martini! The food was delicious, a little expensive for bar food but worth the price. Its a casual location. It has a very New York, SOHO feel.

Thier food is average, but their drinks are what make them good. They have a wide beer selection on tap and also have some more in bottles. But what sets them apart are their mixed drinks — for which the selection is not as wide, but they are made well & with fresh ingredients. Their décor is nice and they have a good relaxed ambiance. Maybe I went to this place before its going to get popular. Seems like there should be more people at this place. Parking is a problem, I couldnt park in their lot on a tuesday night.

Went this past Saturday; would give it 3.25 stars, but I rounded down. One of the problems I had with the place was there was a sign for complimentary valet parking. When I drove into the lot, the valets just pointed and waved us in. I wound up parking the car on my own. Reason it bugged me; I saw them bringing other people’s cars and the valets were there when we left as well. Once inside, gotta say it is a nice looking place. We were helped right away by the host; didn’t take long for a table. There are tv all over with sports on. The waiter was helpful, I thought. Very attentive. However, one of my friends thought he was giving him attitude. He asked for extra blue cheese, but didn’t get it. He asked for wet naps, and got attitude. I honestly didn’t notice. They have a extensive drink menu, which is good, but not like they have too many non-commercial beers. Their food menu also has a lot of choices, but seems a bit pricey for a sports bar/grill. I had the stuffed chicken Tuscan, it was okay, not worth the 21 bucks they charge for it. I’d go back for drinks and apps; wasn’t very impressed, but not disappointed either.

I was here last week Sunday night with my friends to watch NBA Finals. This is my second visit and to give another try, i had bad experienced here during my first visit. Last Sunday was good, i had a great time and we had very good server taking care of us the entire night, she was very nice, polite and always checking our table. We also requested to change one of the tv to the sports we want to, they did it without hesitation. We had some food to share and it was good, next time i want to try their pizza, i heard it was also good. Bathroom was clean the whole night, this really good indication of clean facility. Cant wait for my next visit.

Very disappointed. I was so excited when I first saw the sign go up that there would be a «Tap House» coming to the area. I am very much a lover of new beers and the food that goes along with them. I was finally able to get over there and try it out. The décor is possibly a little over the top. It’s not horrible, but I’m not quite sure what they were going for with it. It’s a mash of hip/modern/retro/fancy. The service staff seemed like they try to be good but don’t know how. My wife(also a craft beer enthusiast) asked for a list of beers on TAP [what a concept for a TAPHOUSE] but the waitress replied«Wouldn’t you like a Martini instead?» Not very smooth for someone who wants a good tip. The menu is pricier than I expected. I don’t mind paying more for a good portioned meal with an overall good experience. I ultimately went for the brick oven style pizzas they offered. The end result: a pizza that looks flashy but very mediocre in taste. Not worth near the amount of money it costs. I would have preferred Papa John’s personal pizza for half the price but twice the substance. At this point I was sure this place is all about the show. Now for my most troubling observation, the taps… They advertise 24 taps, but in reality, a majority of them are taps you will find at any bar. They have the standard Coors, Bud, Yuengling, a bunch of IPAs, and a few other misc. selections. I settled for the Toasted Lager, the only one that interested me but that I was already very familiar with. The waitress was not knowledgeable about their taps either. I don’t think my initial expectations for the place were unreasonable. I expected a comfortable place with reasonably priced, good food(not junk food, but realistic) and a staff who knew how to cater to customers who wanted a good, cold, unique beer. If you like pretentious restaurants with basic options that could compare to any other basic restaurant, enjoy it. I’d rather go to a tavern, pay average prices for food that tastes twice as good without the flair.

Despite the excellent Cobb Salad, the complimentary chips, and the friendly and usually effective server, I can never give more than 3 stars to a place that does not bring out all the main courses at the same time; especially when we are just a party of 2. Otherwise, this was a 4. As noted, my Cobb Salad was excellent. Very fresh and very tasty and very large. Our server was very responsive and helpful. The place has a very nice look to it. It is definitely a welcome addition to the area and I could see going back again, possibly soon. Just bring everybody’s food together. Seriously!!!

Bordering between Cool and Hipster. So this is a great spot, the food is good and the vibe isn’t bad, I just feel as though they have tried too hard to be trendy. That said the just missed that Trendy/Hipster look which makes this place such a great spot to hang out at. I’ve visited for both lunch and dinner and most recently brought clients with me for a business meeting. One every occasion the staff have been professional, attentive and friendly, the food has always hit the spots(try the shrimp pasta dish with jalepano) and the ambience has been just right. Folks, you will definitely see me again!

We ate dinner here on a Friday night, and it was our second visit. The parking lot had a backup of 3 cars because they now have valet parking. They didn’t have valet the first time we came, which was about 2 months ago. But their parking lot is too small for the number of seats, so I guess they chose to add valet parking(3rd party). Parking on the street(off of Rt 22) is limited. I’m somewhat surprised that Mountainside didn’t require more parking for the size of the restaurant. We got seated right away and ordered our drinks and an appetizer(ginger wings). Our waiter was very friendly and provided good service throughout the night. For entrees, we had the churrasco skirt steak(super tasty), the Asian sesame salad with chicken(was a little dry so asked for more dressing) and the grilled chicken Cobb sandwich. For dessert we shared the Banging Banana which was very good. Pros: pretty good food, friendly staff, beautiful décor(interior and exterior). Cons: limited parking so must valet, prices seem a little bit high. We probably won’t come back here for a while mostly because of the price and the bad parking situation.

I agree with all the other reviews, great potential. Service was very friendly, but as others also said, it is very slow. I was in for lunch and there were only a handful of other seats. No reason for such a slow pace. However, the chips and salsa kept my hunger at bay and were really good. Had I been on a time crunch, we would have had an issue. My burger was nothing special and the fries were just not good. I had a couple and thought maybe some salt would help, but it didn’t. Good fries are a maker/breaker for a good restaurant for me! Also, the prices seemed pretty steep. I usually don’t pay much attention to prices, but these prices stuck out as pricey for the type of food served. This would be a great place to have drinks with friends and coworkers.

Visited Echo for mother’s day dinner. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy the experience. When we arrived we had to ask the waiter at least twice every time we needed something whether it be for water or utensils or glasses for water. The food took an unreasonable amount of time to come out. And when it did only half of the entrees came while not all those people had utensils.(They were all taken away with our appetizers though we asked for new ones). Then a while later everyone else’s entrees came out. My fiancé’s skirt steak was luke warm and seasoned just OK. My pizza had a weird yeast taste to it so I didn’t eat much of it. Their menu lacks a theme/focus. There were Mexican items, American, and random other kinds of cuisines. From a churrasco steak and tacos to a Mac and cheese section to a Italian dishes it was really doing too much in my opinion. Yes, it was mother’s day it was maybe busier than usual, however, I overheard they were short staffed. Regardless, as a restaurant, I think you should prepare for holidays accordingly especially since we had a reservation. Lastly, I would also say the value of the entrees and apps just didn’t match the quality. A $ 27 entrée should be better than going to a typical chain restaurant. I wouldn’t really recommend this restaurant for the food. The only positive is that the décor is interesting and modern/updated. But as a Unilocaler, I really need good food quality… not just nice things to look at.

Came here for Cinco De Mayo and to celebrate a birthday. The interior of the restaurant is modern with a fun vibe. They have a good variety of menu and drink options but some entrees are on the pricey side. The complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch. Food was good but not amazing. Service was spotty but I won’t hold that against them since it was Cinco De Mayo. If its your birthday they bring out the dessert with a sparkler which was nice and a good photo op. I’ll definitely be back. Want to try their happy hour.

Place has a great venue. Food is average at best but who doesn’t love a place that serves a variety of beer and cocktails. I was a very annoyed that my sever screws up my bill and I had to wait 20 mins for him to fix my bill and then screwed up by swiping my card twice for the same bill. All I got was a lame ass apology and being told that I would get my refund in 5 – 7 days after they withdrew my money immediately. Being optimistic I would like to give this place another shoot and you better believe I will pay in cash.

I visited this establishment with some work colleagues. We were looking for some good food and good service. The food satisfied us but the service did not. Firstly this place is new and I’m sure getting the hang of things. They have an attractive, modern and hip décor. Echo seems like the kind of place to bring friends after work, meet people or bring a date however unless their service improves i would not recommend to come here. You spend a decent amount of money to eat at Echo and you expect to get decent service. The tacos were very tasty, the wings were cooked well. My sauteed spinach was delicious. Service: we sat for nearly 10 minutes before we were approached by a waiter. I had to shout at a waiter before one decided to arrive to our table. We gave the waitress are complete order since we had so much time to look at the menu. When the waitress arrived she did not have nachos and salsa in hand as every other table received as soon as they said. She arrived with water, took our order, left then returned three minutes later with nachos. Why were for professional men tested differently? After she dropped the bill off we wanted to leave quickly but she left for another 8 minutes before she returned for the credit card. The place was not busy in the slightest. In fact several of the waiting crew seemed bored or busy conversating amongst themselves at the bar or in the kitchen. You can see through the kitchen since it is a glass wall divider. I was disappointed with my visit and should have listened to the Unilocal reviews rating and saved my money. Echo has a lot of potential to be popular. The food is tasty. They have lots of alcohol. The interior is well designed. Unless they improve their service I wouldn’t spend my money here.

Every time my friend and I go to the Mountainside Theater to catch a flick, we always end up driving past this place. After hearing quite a bit about this place and my father telling us to check this place out, we came here to hang out for the afternoon. We came in on a Saturday afternoon at around 1:30pm, and requested a table. After that, we were immediately seated. After a few moments, our friendly waitress came by and gave us a frosted glass bottle of water, and a complimentary tray of tortilla chips and dip. She also took our beer orders. After looking at their impressive beer tap menu, I ordered the Czechvar. My friend ordered the same too, even though he didn’t look at the menu since he thought I was ordering something good. My friend also ordered a cheeseburger, but I ordered nothing since I already ate prior to venturing out. The Czechvar beer had a rich dark cherry taste and a dark chocolate aftertaste. My friend and I really enjoyed that. Then his cheeseburger came out, and he enjoyed that. Throughout our experience, we ate the tortilla chips and dip. The tortilla chips tasted fresh and were properly salted. The dip had a mild spicy taste, which was perfect. The fact that these chips were complimentary for dine-in patrons was a very nice touch. If you wanted to drink water, you had to drink it out of your Mason Jars. If you don’t like drinking out of a jar, then consider asking for a glass instead. I don’t mind drinking out of Mason Jars at all. The water refills did come very quickly. Additionally, these Mason Jars can be utilized for drinking premium cocktails. The interior of the restaurant contained modern, trendy, decorations. Rhythmic A/C music played in the background at a low volume. A fire pit was available in the back of the restaurant, but it was only turned on in the nighttime. The restrooms were clean, but the lighting was very low! Watch wear you’re walking when you’re in there. Overall, a very good experience!

Came here for an early dinner on Saturday with my boyfriend after seeing it as «hot and new» on Unilocal. They had complimentary valet which made no sense considering the parking lot was adjacent to the building — were completely capable of parking our own car and keeping those few singles we’d feel obligated to tip the«complimentary» valet worker — so we parked on a side street and walked over. Upon entry into Echo we first noticed how large the place really is! A modern interior with cement flooring, wooden paneled walls, a neat gear ceiling décor, with plants everywhere. Despite how large the building is the bar is so tiny. Definitely an imbalance between them. During our trip here my boyfriend and I both agree this place is having an identity crisis. Way too much going on and nothing is cohesive. Chips and salsa when you sit down, a pizza bar, a mac and cheese bar, a menu that has a little bit of everything but no set direction. Reminds me a little of a cheesecake factory — a huge menu that is all over the place just to appeal to the masses. My boyfriend and I ordered the mac’shroom from the Mac bar which we both enjoyed. Super cheesy with fontina cheese, mushrooms and truffle oil. We both enjoyed this and said we would try a Mac and cheese from here again in the future. As for our entrees we both felt it was safest to stay with sandwiches. I had the grilled portobello mushroom sandwich which had Gruyère cheese(my favorite!), arugula and a lime aioli all on top of a toasted ciabatta bun. I really did enjoy this sandwich and would recommend it. My boyfriend had a bacon cheddar burger which either of us cared for. Bland burger blend with nothing special about it. We both had our meals with fries which were not fresh. They were lukewarm and becoming soggy. It was easy to tell that we got the end of an old batch — the worst ever when you really want fries! We decided to try the baklava as a dessert which was delicious. No complaints here. We both agree that if we do go back in the future we’d both order a mac and cheese with a beer — since the mac’shroom was the best thing we had the whole time. I think Echo has the potential to become a great place but they need to find their identity and figure out what kind of place they really want to be. All in all we had an okay time but we do not see ourselves rushing back anytime soon.

It was my birthday and I didn’t have any plans to go out. My dad just passed away 4 days ago. A friend and myself were driving by and we saw this cool looking place and decided to stop in for a bite to eat… I didn’t have to valet my car, but I did notice the parking lot got full very quickly. It was a Monday and that surprised me. I’m so glad I stopped in… I was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly seated us in the bar area at a nice high top. I didn’t have to wait… Within 5 minutes a waiter by the name of Rich came over with a large bowl of homemade chips and salsa and a cool looking bottle of cold water… We were given cute mason jars to drink out of. The menu looked interesting and had a nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza and assorted entrées.This restaurant is more up scale then your average burger place. Rich my waiter gave me plenty of time to look over the menu and asked if I had any questions and if I would like a drink. I ordered a raspberry Mojito. My friend ordered a blueberry Mojito. Both drinks came in a mason jar and had fresh fruit on a skewer placed on top. The drinks were delicious. It was a great twist on your basic Mojito. My friend and I decided to share our orders so we could sample both dishes… I ordered The Grilled Chicken Cobb Sandwich. It was a sandwich layered with grilled chicken, apple wood smoked bacon, tomato, gorgonzola, arugula, lime basil aïoli on ciabatta bread. I had a choice of salad or fries. I chose the salad. I must admit, the flavor combinations of this sandwich blew me away… The bread was soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and tender, the layering of the soft gorgonzola cheese along with the Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato were a perfect combination. My side salad was mesclun greens, red onions, cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumbers with the light vinaigrette dressing. My friend ordered the Seared Tuna Burger. It came on a brioche bun seared rare with onion and garlic aioli, lettuce tomato, and onions and a side of truffle fries… The tuna was very juicy, and seared perfectly… The brioche bun was soft and soaked up all the juices. The truffle fries were so crisp and golden brown. I loved the dishes that our food was presented on… It looked like sterling silver. I was surprised by all the staff with a piece of baklava with strawberries and whipped cream with a sparkler in it. After all it was my birthday… I was so taken back that the staff and one of the owners Nick took a few minutes out of their busy night to come and sing happy birthday to me… My waiter Rich kept coming over and checking on us to make sure our meal was to our liking and if we needed something more to drink. The restaurant itself had a great feel. What immediately caught my eye was the big open wide space. The ceiling had very large looking gears like the inner workings of a huge clock, or industrial machine… All the wood on the walls looked repurposed and whitewashed with muted colors… The bar was very neat and clean with industrial pipes and beer hoses coming up over the top… They have a nice selection of imported and craft beers and an assortment of signature drinks… In the far corner is the wood burning pizza oven. Next to that is a glass enclosed kitchen where the majority of food is made. I could see all the line cooks and chefs busy working preparing our food and finishing up the desserts… In the main dining area is a circular fireplace which gives so much warmth to the room… There is a circular bench that surrounds the fireplace so you can sit and enjoy a drink. A man by the name of Nick also came over several times to make sure everything was to our liking. I learned he was one of the owners… Nick couldn’t have been nicer. He went around to all the tables… I asked Nick how long The Echo Tap and Grille had been opened. He told me only 5 weeks… They did a soft opening with new bartenders, waiters and staff. I feel this has helped them to improve. They are really working hard to make it a comfortable place to come… The main dining room has booths and tables from one end of the room to the other … The bathroom has concrete style triple sinks and the ceiling is painted black wth splattered gold paint on the ceiling… The outside has a ramp for wheelchair accessibility, along with steps… Everything is well lit and nicely done… I can’t wait to return and try some more interesting dishes…

Sort of shocked by the bad reviews on the food. Were you ordering the wrong things? I always amazed when people are like«oh the tilapia was sub-par at a burger joint». We ordered wings and burgers and were very satisfied here. Loved the atmosphere, very cool fire pit and a nice booth. However — one thing I wasn’t thrilled about was the lack of parking. I feel like I parked in Canada and had to walk through the tundra to get there, not that it’s your fault it snowed. Anyway — we had a great girls night out and enjoyed a nice generous pitcher of sangria. I would return.

Been wanting to come here ever since I passed it on route 22 during their construction phase. It is a huge square building that looks like it could be a brewery but it is a restaurant. It has a great look to it with the black Windows and the decorative lighting in the inside. Came here on a Friday night around 9pm. Asked for the wait time and they said an hour and a half. I never waited that long for a table and I will never wait that long. That is ridiculous. So I left. Wanted to go on a Sunday. Called and the same thing, an hour and a half. Wow. So decided this is the kind of place you have to go right after work. Thank gosh I get out at 4pm. Came here on a Wednesday at 430pm. It was empty. No wait no nothing. Probably 20 other people in the place. Awesome! Sat at a high top in the bar area. Asked the host the happy hour special and she didn’t fully know it. That’s cool everything is still new. I think it’s their third week. Our waiter came over and told us what the happy hour specials were. Ordered the $ 5 sangria and the discounted classic brick oven pizza. From $ 10.95 it’s $ 8.95. That’s decent. Also ordered the nachos de los echo with chicken. We didn’t order anything that was difficult to make or would take a long time so I definitely need to come back to try their entrees. Anyways the food was okay. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. The chips tasted a bit stale but the salsa was good. It had a kick of spiciness but was not enough to make me stop eating it. The pizza was decent, the tomato sauce needed more body to it. It tasted like tomato sauce out of a can or jar. Possible they need to marinate it or let it sit longer to get more deep flavors. The mozzarella cheese was good. Nice and stringy. The crust was my favorite. It was super light and air-y and has a nice crunch to it. Yum. The nachos were good too. Chicken had a great flavor to it and the cheese was nice and gooey. The only thing I didn’t care for at all was the bean chili. Would get it without that. It tastes like straight up beans. I’m not a chili fan so that’s prob why. My sangria was good. One did the job! It was not too sweet and came with fruits. All in all I need to come back to experience their entrees and table service.
