I have nothing but praise for Foam People, including both owners(Steve and Henry) and their crew(Rob, Curtis and the others). We were building the first Passive House in New Jersey. It’s a very, very tight and well-insulated house. Foam People played a big role in making the house energy efficient and comfortable. It has an R-67 roof, R-38 walls, and triple-pane windows. Air leakage rates are really tiny. The house has no furnace and no central AC — just two 12k BTU ductless mini-splits handling all the heating and cooling. The R-67 roof insulation value was achieved by applying 10-inches of closed-cell spray foam. That’s a lot of foam! Foam People bid a competitive price. They were on-site when they said they would be. They observed all of the local regulations for work-hours and noise, and parked their trucks legally. They applied the depth of foam we contracted for, with due considerations for site safety and health. They finished the job when they said they would. They did a great job cleaning up after they were done. They followed up with us after the job was done. When we noted a small bit of foam shrinkage, they honored their warranty. And they are nice people to work with. If I could give them six stars, I would.

Great guys! They came in to do my attic with closed cell foam and even though it was ridiculously hot up there(easily 130 to 150°… Because the process of spraying foam creates a fair amount of heat) The whole crew stuck with the job until it was finished. You would imagine in a situation like that there’s got to be a temptation to cut corners — not these guys! When I inspected the job I found phenomenal coverage, really strict attention to detail and they had obviously spent a lot of time cleaning up. I would recommend this company with absolutely no reservations. I’m really happy I selected them to do this job.

I was really excited about the Foam People, but they weren’t actually made of foam. One evening, my hubby and I completed an online form for an estimate to better insulate our garage and basement overhang. The Foam People called the following morning and came out the same day. Throughout all of our interactions, they were highly accessible by email, text, and phone. They were knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and explained the differences between open-cell and closed-cell foam insulation and what was best for our targeted areas in their judgment(open-cell). While we prepped our house for foam application pretty well by covering furniture and other possessions with tarp and plastic sheeting, the Foam People were mindful in covering the washer and dryer in our basement. With our permission, they parked on our paved driveway but otherwise have long hoses that can reach most houses from the street. They let us observe their work in progress as much as we wanted to see how and how well the foam was applied. It took them about a half hour to prepare and check the targeted areas then 6 hours to apply and trim the foam with a short lunch break in between. After they finished, we partially followed their recommended safety instructions of vacating our house overnight by staying out most of the day. A chemical smell lasted up to a day. For the same job, we were quoted $ 5000 by another business but the Foam People estimated about $ 2200(at 35 cents per cubic foot) which is what we ended up paying. The Foam People’s work noticeably got rid of all floor drafts in our master bedroom above our garage and living area above our basement and helped make a bedroom that shares a wall with our garage much warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. With the Foam People, don’t be afraid to get foamed!
