for city folks: Be prepared to be off the grid. It was so peaceful and quiet, all we heard were the cayotes and dogs«talking» to each other. We drove into W. Jefferson for a late lunch (Hotel Tavern) but just explored the huge property. Breakfast is in the main house — great french toast and strong coffee, good conversation. Hubby and I definitely enjoyed the time off to explore this relatively remote part of VA.

This place is magical! The inn is set on a gorgeous property near the owners’ home. You are surrounded by gardens and have your own private suite that’s cozy, very clean, and comfortable. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was DELICIOUS. We woke up to a beautiful table for two set on the patio with fresh Orange juice, coffee, fruit, warm homemade scones, and the best omelet I’ve ever had. The omelet was made with the herbs and vegetables from their garden. Loved everything about this place! Definitely hope to make it back soon.
