Stay away from Lopi gas inserts, which are made by Travis Industries. I purchased a new DVSGSR2 Insert in 12⁄2013. In the first year it didn’t work the 2 months I most needed it to. It wouldn’t ignite on a routine basis. I had the service guy come out and he ‘fixed’ it. When he left he said although it still didn’t start in the first 15 seconds(more like a minute) that it was technically fixed. He said if I had any problems that they would replace it at that time. Well the 1 minute start time turned into 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, and then a few days later it wouldn’t light at all. I called the service tech immediately afterward, and they ordered the replacement part. The part has been on backorder for over 60 days now. I selected Travis Industries because they were made in the US and pride themselves on quality and being a small family business. Perhaps they are too small. If you can’t get a part in 60 days that is a problem. Furthermore, the lack of communication is even worse(although that is more on the service technician). Another annoying thing is the remote control LCD has these white marks that don’t come off(see pic). I barely had this thing for a year. That shouldn’t happen. Questionable quality and poor service. Wish I hadn’t gotten talked out of my original selection of the Heat N Glo. Buyer beware(google the model you are thinking about first). Lopi stoves and gas inserts now have a poor reputation with several complaints.
