A hidden gem in Mullica Hill. Located off the Main Street and tucked in behind a house and adjacent to a church, Murphy’s Loft is the place to go to find used and out of print books. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, children’s books, cookbooks and more… you’ll find them all here. I’ve known about this place for nearly 20 years and never leave empty handed. I learned that, sadly, current plans are to close up shop at the end of May 2012. So if you’ve been thinking about stopping by now is the time to do it.

A barn converted into a used books store that sits behind the owners house. The woman who runs it is very friendly and is more than willing to tell you all about how her little nook and cranny came to be. Books on every subject imaginable and from the most recent to the very old. Many of the titles are no longer in print I imagine. Don’t forget to stop and pet Squeaks the Cat! If the owner steps out he’ll follow or lead you around the store till she comes back. A one of a kind mom and pop operation… the kind of place you just don’t find anymore. Nothing the the musty smell of old tomes… :)
