Slop on Top

Slop on Top was parked in front of Herron on the IUPUI campus this past Saturday. I wandered over on my lunch break during class and the smell coming from this truck was making my stomach growl. I didn’t realize it at the time, but apparently it was a private event with Herron. The driver didn’t have any change, and I asked if he could take a card. He told me «You know what? Just remember us.» And handed me a serving of the chicken chili.
I will remember them. Not just because I got lunch for free, but because the food was fantastic. It kind of reminds me of Yats, minus the cheese and sour cream I usually get. I didn’t even miss the toppings though. It was spicy without being *too* hot and filled me up. I’d have gladly paid the $ 6, and next time they are near campus I’ll be sure to stop at their truck again.

I had heard about this place for a few months, so it was really nice to see it in the village and finally give it a try. The serving was huge and it was well worth the six dollars. The owner is also very nice and funny. I could not say enough good things about our experience here, we will definitely be back soon! I tried the southwest barbecue chicken on top of white rice, and my husband had the spicy sausage with cheese on top of white rice. I probably butchered the names but anyways, SO GOOD!!! Go!!!
