Super 8 Muncie/Ball St

I booked a room here on kayak for $ 60 including tax, and I think it was the nicest $ 60 room I’ve ever stayed in (we’re talking dozens, here– I’m a cheapskate). I came in late but the front desk clerk was readily available and checking in and out was a breeze. The hotel seems very new and the room itself was flawless, with amenities such as a fridge and coffee maker. It was modern, clean, and comparable to $ 80-​$ 100 hotels I’ve spent the night in. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but sufficient. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for lodging in the area.

I have been traveling to Muncie for the past 19 years to attend the National Model Airplane Championships. I have been staying at this Super 8 for all those years.
I’m a no frills kind of guy and just need a place to shower and sleep after a long day on the flying site. This Super 8 provides just that for me. They also serve a DIY breakfast every morning.
The hotel is clean and the room is made up each day to look like it was never lived in. Vinny Patel is an excellent inn keeper and has always gone out of his way to make sure our stay is up to his standards. I have never encountered any problems while staying there. I once had an internet connection problem and Vinny fixed it by giving me my own connection. This is one of the reasons that on this years trip I awarded Vinny the Trip Advisor excellent service recognition pin (see photo).
Vinny informed me that when I visit again next year that they will have upgraded to flat screen TV’s and a better cable provider.
I have stayed in other Super 8 locations (see my other review below) where my experience was not pleasant.
But if you are looking for an affordable friendly place to stay in the Muncie /​Ball State area then the Super 8 is the place. Tell Vinny I sent ya!

When we’re traveling, my view on lodging is a little different than a lot of folks. We don’t need a lot of extras, because we’re either cycling or playing music while traveling. We just need a clean, safe, convenient place to sleep. Anything else is a bonus.
That’s exactly what this Super 8 is. The location is great, VERY convenient to Ball State, the Minnestrista Cultural Center, the Cardinal Greenway, and a ton of restaurants.
The bed was comfy, the room was clean, the building was quiet, the breakfast was well stocked with basics… cereal, waffles, fruit, juices… and the price was right. We’ll certainly stay here when coming back to Muncie.
