It starts from walking in. You have to run as fast as you can to get by the salesman that stands infront of the electronics. When I first joined I did not know this and ended up in a verbal argument with a guy telling him I didn’t want to buy whatever he was selling. Once you get past that then you have the people handing out food samples throughout the store. Don’t ignore them like I did the first time, just accept the sample and carry on until you get stopped by the next one and repeat these actions. They turn nasty if you try to ignore them. So just come to Sam’s club ready to socialize. I cannot comment on anything but the food shopping aspect of the store. Anything you need is here though, down to file folders. If you join Sam’s Club and think you are going to do all your food shopping here, you better have a family as big as the Beardsleys. Everything is quantity. If you have never seen a barrel sized tub of peanut butter it will be the smallest thing you see here. Cleaning products are great here though. You can’t beat a box of 30 paper towels for $ 20.00. Their seafood is also delicious. Plastic bags do not exist here. Instead of plastic bags you are provided with boxes. It’s a huge pain but nothing they sell here would fit in a plastic bag anyway. If you get hungry while shopping, just stay hungry or fill up on samples. The restaurant in Sam’s Club is awful. You will loose your appetite looking at the old stale food that is displayed. Then it gets worse when you look at the nasty counter. Finding a table to sit at that doesn’t look like somone took a large pizza and smashed it all over the table and seat… is impossible. Unfortunately you will find a couple of «People of Walmart» roaming around Sam’s Club everytime you visit. Luckily there are many more People of Sams Club and they are normal. Fuel is another benefit of Sam’s Club. You will definitely save a few bucks at the pump every time you fill up. In the end Sam’s Club does have some very nice discounted items. Everything is quantity but if you do not have a large family it is still worth paying the small fee to be a member. I would describe it as a glorified Walmart.

Don’t get photos printed here. After printing the pictures at the self serve the photo person picked up our pictures went through and said about half of them we couldn’t take because we were not carrying the papers proving we could print them. Apparently they are copy write experts or something.

I love shopping here. Especially for the fresh produce and fruit, very good price there. And some special food you can get from other grocery store. Of course, their four berries sundae is the best, no more Rita’s custard, MD’s sundae for me. =================== But beware of the customer service grandma there, here is the story: I have to say the young girls work at Sam’s Club customers service desk are much nicer than those grandmas… More patient, more friendly, more smiling and easier to their customers as the experience I had with both of them. Here is the conversation I had with grandma today: Grandma: How can I help you today?(first looked friendly enough) Me:Hello,(I took my receipt out), I made a purchase not too long ago, and the price dropped, I wonder if I could get a price adjustment? Grandma(friendly voice changed to cold): No.(short and simple, no more words to tell me why not, but I didn’t quite understood the policy, so I had to keep asking). Me: Oh, but last time I was here they told me I could get a price adjustment if there were still two items in stock… etc. Grandma:NO.(still didn’t tell me why not, voice was colder) Me: Can you tell me why?(at least let me know why, please.) Grandma: Price adjustment only in 30 days.(she was more inpatient, but finally, I got to know why and the policy.) Me(after being nice from beginning, finally I was not very happy with the way she acted): Guess I have to buy the same item and return the old one.(Actually I didn’t, just said that for her attitude.) Grandma: That’s up to you.(sounded pissed, no more other words, guess she didn’t want to have more conversation with me, turned to do something else, and left me alone, then I had to left.) Sure Sam’s club trained their grandma customer service people like her rude enough to get rid off the troublesome old customers like me. She looked quite happy when she was dealing with those new member applications. Young girls work there, before I had similar situation, but instead of telling me just NO, NO, NO at beginning, they always told me due to the policy such as…, so they can’t do such and such, sorry for that inconvenience very nicely at first. So even I didn’t get what I really wanted, but at least I could understand, and still be a happy customer. Maybe customers don’t like grandma customer service people in the stores, but the stores love them, cause they do treat the stores like their own family business.
