Exactly what it says it is… Shrimp Shack. A friendly, down home feel with a hard working chef running the show. Food was above average to good with an absolute must stop for cole slaw. I’d go back if in the area and if you are around, in the mood for some fried seafood and want a quality human being serving you some grub, give it a dip!

I have passed this location a number of times and decided to try it for lunch. This is strictly a take out location. They have one small 2 top table kind of sitting there by itself. Not what you would call inviting. As far as the food… I ordered a JUMBO shrimp dinner(½#). The dinner comes with about 6 shrimp and two sides. Here they are: Shrimp: Mediocre. The breading was very bland. The shrimp were nice and firm and of decent quality. Overall, nothing remarkable though. Side 1: French Fries. Probably the best part of the meal. Not coated(yea) and no nasty old greasy taste. Side 2: Cajun Rice. Horrible. Old. Dry. And, some unidentifible meat in it as well. I threw it out. Note to owners: Go visit Popeye’s and buy their Cajun Rice. That’s what it’s supposed to be. Finally, shrimp is an expensive commodity right now. My meal as illustrated above was just over $ 13 with tax. Not what you would call a bargain. Although, had the quality been as good as it should, I would not have complained about the price. Final thought: There are better places to spend your hard earned dollars for a seafood lunch or dinner.
