White Castle

Open 24 hours. Attached to a gas station. Great choice for dieters — the greasy sliders taste like they’re supposed to and provide a colonic cleansing experience hours later.

White Castle. A 24 — 7 beacon of sustenance for the heavily imbibed when a taco stand is not in reach.
I opted to drive two dudes to the nearby Three Floyds Brew Pub Dark Lord Day event in April. Dark Lord Day is a serious beer event, and while food is available at the fest, I know my crew and did some research so I was prepared in the event they did not eat enough to tame the 8−10−15% ABV offerings at the fest. White Castle was the closest place that would be open, serving food and has a restroom.
I am fairly certain that to work at a White castle, you must possess the patience of an ER triage nurse because there is a whole lot of crazy drunk that walks through their doors. In any case, Dude 1 walks up and orders a 100 Crave Case. Not kidding. Drunken hunger can be that powerful. Hence Harold and Kumar’s epic adventure in hunger satiation. For those that have never seen a 100 Crave Case, imagine a cardboard pet carrier for a shih tzu or very large cat and that’s about the size of the box. Not only did my drunkie order 100 Sliders, he asked for half regular cheese and half jalapeño. He proceeded to ask for 5 burgers right away while they prepared the rest. The very calm cashier went over the order, and clarified it, as she seemed like she did not want her team making 100 burgers for someone that was not making good decisions. She asked how many people it was for, and he said two, three if you count my onion rings, which again, she gave pause to, but accepted his cash payment and they went to work. In fact, the whole team quickly went to work making the 100 crave case, serving 5 right away and making one order of onion rings. The order was accurate, the jalapeño cheeseburgers were marked, and the onion rings were piping hot.
Was it too much food? Of course. But it made a couple dudes pretty happy. Did my car smell like onion for a few days? Yes but I have since cleaned it and driven with the windows open so the residual onion smell has dissipated. The restroom was clean — not squeaky clean like a Mr. Clean commercial, but clean for late at a 24 hour restaurant sharing space with a gas station clean.

Every time we place a large order here it is ruined. Like a 30 crave case of cheeseburgers with everything … And there’s no cheese. Do they fix it? No the manager tried to hand us 30 little pieces of cold cheese. Would not remake order
Again today. No Cheese on cheeseburger 10 of them. They charge you 50 cents for the tiny piece of cheese and then don’t give it to you

Ever since I watched Harold and Kumar make their pilgrimage to a White Castle, I’ve always wanted to try one. Yeah there are the frozen ones at the grocery stores but I know they often do not do justice to the fresh versions.
This White Castle is Open 24 hours. Yay!
It shares the space with the convenience store from Speedway gas station so it’s on the smallish size. There are a few tables and chairs if you wanted to dine in but they also have a drive through.
Fresh baked buns are so soft and chewy. Pickles and grilled onions complete the meal. It’s good, but I & O is always #1. Now the chicken and waffles are also available. It’s 2 for $ 5. The waffles were kinda soggy the chicken patty wasn’t all meat. They didn’t have honey packets and they were kinda stingy when I asked for fruit jam/​jelly. For the same price I can get a chicken breast sandwich from Chik-​fil-​A. Just sayin’…
