My husband dined here for Easter while I was out of town. He was quite impressed, so we thought we’d give it a try for lunch today. As a first-timer, I have to say that the food was unbelievable for $ 7.49 for meat+2. The cornbread is to die for! The chicken and dressing with gravy was so moist and delicious. I also had the green beans, which were out of a can, but seasoned wonderfully(and I happen to love green beans from a can). And the greens were also great! They also had mac and cheese, candied sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and a couple of other great sides we didn’t try. Also had the pinto beans with their fried corn cakes, which is what I’m going back for next time. If I were to give any constructive criticism, it would be that they don’t serve brewed iced tea. That fountain stuff always tastes odd to me. Disappointing not to have such a Southern staple with such Southern food! This isn’t food for the calorie counter, though I do understand they have baked chicken sometimes. The staff is so very friendly; the place has a real«family» atmosphere. Definitely going back, and next time — I’m also choosing one of those fabulous-looking desserts!

Home cooked goodness. We had Cedar Bucket cater our business lunch. We had baked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll, and a variety of desserts. The baked chicken was awesome. It was so tender and juicy and that seems to be difficult to do for most restaurants especially when you order for a large group of people. I was very pleasantly surprised. Everyone kept talking about how great the chicken was. I had ordered the green beans with the mashed potatoes with the thought that this would be a healthy option. The green beans were so full of flavor that I’m sure they weren’t as healthy as I had hoped but worth every bite. I chose the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert. It was moist and delicious. I highly recommend lunch here if you are in the area and if you need a caterer definitely give them a call. The owner, Ricky, will make you glad you did.
