Viewing previous reviews allowed me to prepare for this experience appropriately. In addition to all your paperwork, bring three forms of entertainment (movies, novels, etc), snacks, and all your available patience. I felt lucky (after reading that others waited three hours) that I was in and out in two hours with my new TN license! Of course, this was an extremely straightforward application, so allow for more time if your mission is more complicated. And I’m also glad to report that all the employees who served me were pleasant and civil, if not terribly motivated. The facility was fairly clean, though there were prison-​like gouges in the wall of the waiting area and the toilet paper dispenser had been torn from the wall. Still, better than expected!
