Date of never ending visits: End of February 2015
Preface: I have taken my car and my husband’s to this place a total of three times prior to this series of events and was pleased with their service. Not this (these) time (s).
Situation: Leaving the state and seeking car maintenance prior to cross country drive for two cars.
Problem: My car (Car A) — Mild shaking when stopped at lights. More of an annoyance than a problem.
Husband’s car (Car B) — air-​conditioner not cold.
Solution: (Car A) A 50-​point inspection including a fuel injection cleaning (that I would have turned down had I been informed).
Return home outcomes:
Car A — Told shaking must be the motor mounts — pay $ 700. Immediately notice car hesitates to start — unusual. Car still shakes. Two days later car will not start. Husband takes car in. Come home with car — car does not start again. Return car (luckily we lived nearby) and are told fuel injection cleaning may «screw up the car.» Also told a gasket must have been knocked during motor mount replacement and the seal seemed loose. Replace gasket and are told if this is does not solve the problem then they are «not sure what it is and (they) cannot help (us)»…Thank God they aren’t doctors. As far as I know, as professionals, you seek out the help of everyone you work with for the sake of your customers, your reputation, and as a learning experience. Not this place.
Car B — We are told if there is a leak they cannot find it. Leave with cold air — $ 98.00.
Arrive in new state:
Car A — Check engine light turns on, shaking is still evident (never fixed), and have to «gas» the car to get it to start. Reminder — starting the car and staying on were never a problem until after we took our car to Gateway. Shaking is worse than when we brought it in.
Car B — air-​conditioner no longer cool.
Car A — family friend states that the entire engine is shaking and it looks as if the motor mounts were never replaced…
Summary: Good luck and demand the return of your old parts when they are done. Don’t ever, ever get a fuel injection cleaning — most newer cars do not need this service. And find another place which won’t give up on your car when they can’t figure out the solution to your problem.

Go see these guys… Amazing service. They were very fast in getting my 4 new tires on. The manager David is awesome.

I never imagined I would lose a car at a repair shop but this is what happened here. A nightmare. After being a customer for nearly two years for tires & oil I feel very mistreated by this place. I’ve heard other stories about this place but here is mine. It is hard to know who is to blame or if it was just the car but for me I feel it was the mechanic. I wont go so far as to say I was scammed though some friends felt it was a scam. After several very pricey repairs my car experienced the same problems until finally the engine blew while I was driving on Interstate only less than three weeks after having repairs done nearly causing me to wreck. This is after paying over $ 1500 in costly repairs over the previous two months. After being told they would give us a deal on a new engine because they had worked on it prior to the problem (still over $ 2000) they then said after installing the engine the transmission was also out and would cost another $ 1800+. Instead of paying for the work on a 2001 vehicle I owned for 5 years we just ended up signing it over to them and calling it even.
Overall it was a nightmare. The vehicle did have bad reviews and was crappy mechanically as a model, but I feel this place had several oversights in their work.
