I go to Hastings at least once a week to just sit down, drink a coffee and look around. It’s a pretty nice store to just unwind in general. Aside from the great coffee bar the store offers books, movies, video games and a myriad of other cool stuff. Unfortunately they seem to be understaffed at times which can make it difficult to find help when they’re busy. However, the staff is always very nice and helpful whenever I do ask questions. They’re very laid back yet professional with their demeanor. Go check it out.

Glad to see that Hastings is still kicking. I started coming here years ago when you could rent these weird magnetic tape things called videos. Then the world moved to DVD’s… Now I go for the books and take my son for games. Besides console and handheld video games, they also carry a lot of the trading card games that he likes, so he’s a fan as well!

This store and most people there suck and walk right pass you when you need help, waiting almost an hour before anyone would acknowledge me just standing there without anyone even looking my way, if I didn’t need to would never go back.

Nice cozy spot to read a book. sip on some coffee and find some inspiration for writing. Great thing about it that they support local artists

I thoroughly enjoy going to this store. The staff is always helpful and I normally find any movie I go in to for. The sales floor is clean and well organized. I absolutely love the staff they have in the store. They’re funny! I was in line checking out and this guy was having issues with the computer. Instead of showing his frustration in an irritated way he was joking around about it until he figured it out. Go here if you want to walk out with 10 DVDs for less than $ 40 potentially!(Buy 2 used DVDs/Blu Ray get one for $ 1, come on now!)

Date of visit: 12÷29÷13 This in the plaza that has Long John Silver’s by the road. Let’s get this straight. This is one of those stores that you haven’t most likely experienced before but once you do, you find yourself saying, «This is genius.» Why? Odds are if you like books, movies, and music, you also fall into a bunch of other categories/genres that tie together. What better than to throw them all together in one location! So what does this place really have and what does it feel like? This is a mélange of Hot Topic trinkets/Spencer’s(for you old mall rats), new books shelved with clearly labeled used books(up to 50% cheaper), college textbook rentals, plenty of dvd and game rentals, used and new CDs, new and old records, comic books, collectible toys, lunchboxes, beer cozies and beer bongs, t-shirts, skateboards, guitars, magazines, cards, and a café. It feels like you are walking into a left over Borders or grocery store. The place is just as large. On the downside, it seemed dirty. Well, the hallway to the restroom, the restroom, and around the unused checkouts really needed a broom… and an apology. Perhaps they save on some pricing by skimping on the details. Some of the plexiglass display cases are scratched up and look a bit beat up. The magazine section isn’t on par with Books-A Million, but I have a feeling that store ends up with a whole lot of recycling at the end of the month. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. I just wish it looked a bit nicer, just a cosmetic thing.

After looking around cause of the checking coupon till I found something. The manager would not take due to the fact it expired. Why is it still here??? I shop here when ever I’m looking for a blu ray or dvd first.

I wasn’t expecting such a nice store based of the outside appearance. Coffee shop inside. Lots to choose from and if you’re searching for a particular movie, the staff can locate it on their computers. If its not in the store, you can order it. Be sure to «check in» through Unilocal

I love this place. Even my children beg to go here. Not only do they have the best little coffee shop but they offer a great atmosphere to drink it in! Books, music, movies, toys and stuff oh my! I don’t think I’ve met a rude or unhelpful employe. I love this little media oasis!!!

Before Barnes and Noble moved into town, Hastings was the only decent place to buy books, DVDs and games. There is a Books-a-Million, but it seems they have more bibles than anything else. Hastings is a handy place to know because they sell and rent video games and DVDs. They have both new and used. I don’t think they have any used books, but their selection of new books is much better than BAM and can compete with Barnes and Noble’s.
