I’ve had great meals every time I’ve gone there! Often times, I’ll try their daily specials which are typically unique creations that don’t exist on anyone’s menus. Also, my favorite place for Sunday brunch!

I’ve been here about 6 times, and have eaten about one decent meal. They’re food has tasted like complete garbage the past few times I’ve tried it. Cheese comes out cold and dry on top of the loaded chips, and they have the ball se to squirt some liquid cheese sauce at the bottom, making it a complete foul cheese soup wig soggy fries… Disgusting. The theme of the place is good. An east coat style pub to eat some comfort food and drink a beer. It’s all a terrible gimmick, and they need a new chef asap.

My friend and her husband took my fiancé and myself here over a year ago… We keep coming back, and it’s a 45 min drive from Nashville. They have wonderful, local items(their coffee is from Just Love) and they brew some of their own beer(or they get locally, I forget). Service is always good, and the food is amazing! I usually get the loaded chips, but I’ve also fallen in love with the Mac and cheese, their pulled pork(smokey and delicious), the bangers and mash is delightful, and the fish and chips are spot on. Basically, the only thing I would recommend was the bread pudding, I felt it was a bit too dry. I can’t recommend the Irish Kiss coffee enough! This place is great for dinner or lunch! And the leftovers are great the next day.

The Guinness was perfectly poured, hamburger on brioche bun was moist and tasty, fries were hot and crunchy. Delicious fare in a small pub atmosphere makes this one special.

Everything on the menu is good! Enough said. The Shepard pie is my favorite by far! Nothing I have ordered has been bad.

Yes. Go here. Great food, great service, good prices. All fresh food prepared on site. Took the family and everyone loved the food, the place, and the staff. Can’t wait to go back.

Food is very good. One of the few restaurants in the Boro worth going to. Have been here few times and without exception the food has been A++. Coming out, every time, I felt I got(in terms of food and the overall experience) more than I paid for. Not really good for kids(its a bar — what do you expect) Also not a good place if you want to have private conversations — tables are close to each other. Food is rally good!

My husband had the Reuben and said it was«the best I’ve had in a LONG time!» I had the Cheesy O’PQ and I will have to reserve my criticism because it sounded excellent, but I tried it knowing I don’t care for smoked meats. My husband tasted it and was impressed. We will definitely return for Sunday brunch!

Not impressed. The meats on the sandwiches lacked flavor. The banger on a bun was dry. The mac & cheese was good. I drove an hour to get here and was not blown away. I thought it was expensive for what we got considering the food was boring in flavor

Solid, well-prepared pub grub in the best sense of the term. Excellent ingredients: locally sourced pork and grass fed beef. Very reasonable prices. $ 5 gets you an imperial pint of Guinness. They make their own small batch brew on site. I’ll try that next time.

I found O’Possum’s last year on a business trip. I enjoy the the food and atmosphere. I enjoy the bangers and mash. The mac & blue is wonderful… The place is a little tight on room especially if people standing at the bar. Couple of times, I wanted to tell the gentlemen behind me my head and his tush should meet since they keep bumping into each… This would not stop me from going.

Literally everything I have ever eating here is amazing. I am about half way through he menu and have yet to dislike anything. You MUST order the cheese nibblers they are to die for! My go too is the Mac and blue which is amazing and if you like blue cheese it is a must. The biscuits must be order with anything you order because there so well made. The beer is cold and constantly flowing they have trivia some nights and all the waiters are really good. This will quickly become your new favorite place in the boro. I just wish they could expand to get more people in, there always busy but not annoyingly busy.

This is my favorite place to eat in Murfreesboro. The drinks are always on point, classic and creative. And the food is reason enough to go there even if you don’t drink. Go to Opossum’s! Eat their food!

I absolutely loved this place. Though it is in the middle of a little strip mall, they went out of their way to make the place look very pub-ish. They serve all of the typical pub fare. We started with the sampler platter. I really liked the cheese nibbles and the fried pickle spears. Nicely battered and fried. For appetizers we also had the Banger on a pretzel bun with bacon, kraut and cheese. WOW, was it good. For my entrée I had the Batey’s Farm Organic Bangers and Mash. I couldn’t get enough of these bangers. They were outrageous. top that off with a couple of Guinness pints and we had a terrific meal. I will visit the next time I am in town.

I discovered O’Possum’s while living in Murfreesboro, before my big move over to Scotland, land o’ pubs a’plenty. At the time I was so excited to find an Irish pub in the South, and in truth, the first one in Murfreesboro at the time. My excitement was for a good cause: it’s safe to say I absolutely adore OP’s. I could drone and drivel endlessly about my love for this place, so bear with me! First of all, the establishment. OP’s is small, so keep that in mind if you’re venturing out on a weekend: you may face a bit of a wait. Despite that, OP’s manages to be comfortable and homey, featuring an excellent staff and a knowledgeable set of bartenders. They feature an occasionally changing rota of beers, one of the taps featuring their own home brew, so although it’s not an extensive selection you can always find something to enjoy. Liquors are available in plenty, and the bartenders are skilled in their trade: ask and ye shall receive something tasty and well-made, no questions asked! Now, let’s talk about the FOOD. If you weren’t sold on the staff and drink selections, the food will take you to your happy place. Whether it be a cheesy chicken bake, shepherd’s pie, or crispy-yet-soft chips(fries!), you’re guaranteed to find something that’ll suit your palate. As a vegetarian I never had a bad veggie burger there, and there are plentiful sides to choose from, like the decadent mac ‘n bleu, or the tasty salads. Then, of course, comes dessert. As an American I’d never tried a bread pudding before. Now that I have, there’s no looking back for me: better to have loved and tried bread pudding than never lived at all, as they say. ;) Seriously, the bread pudding is AMAZING. You owe it to yourself to try it. Trust me. In the end, OP’s is the kind of place that you visit once, then a few more times, then suddenly realize you’re a little in love with this place and now quite happy with your«regular» status. OP’s was more than just a pub for me: it was a place were birthdays were celebrated(and cake shared with staff!) – where graduations were commemorated – where families were met with – or even just a quiet drink by yourself was enjoyed. I couldn’t sing OP’s praises more, so I’ll shut up my raving now and just say that I truly miss this little joint, some 4,000 miles away. :)

One of my favorite new finds. Do not let the strip mall exterior dissuade you from stopping here! From fish n’ chips to bangers(sourced locally) and mash; haven’t had a bad meal yet. I will say that the specials seem to be a notch above the standard menu fare though. Especially the Reuben eggrolls — those dang things are amazing! Do yourself a favor and order them as an appetizer if you ever see them listed on the board, even if you didn’t plan on getting an app. One of the best things is that all the sauces seem to be home made. This is an area that too many restaurants fall short in and I’m glad that the crew here hasn’t fallen into the same lazy take. No dull, chunky tarter sauce with the fish n’ chips for example. Instead you get a bright, flavorful sauce that compliments the flaky fish perfectly. The staff is friendly, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. This was a place where my wife and I felt at ease and I could tell that there were several regulars in attendance. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is that for a micro brewery, they fall slightly short on the brew. I have tried two different styles and both times I went with something else(not brewed in-house) on draft.

We’ve been here twice and the second time was better. First visit I had the bbq plate and it was bone dry. Not a good thing for bbq. The couple with us also ordered the bbq and had the same fate. On that trip my wife got the fish’n’chips dinner portion and I ended up finishing it off for her. My first beer was flat and tasted like the bottom of the keg. The second one I got something different and it was fresher. On our second visit I ordered the fish and my wife got the corned beef sandwich. This time I liked my dinner and she was meh on the corned beef. There wasn’t much beef on it and what was there were(maybe 3 – 4) chunks of meat that were not easy to chew. IMO, corned beef should be either chipped or sliced thin and piled high. This sandwich was neither of those. Also, my beers were both fresh on this visit. So, basically it’s been hit or miss for us.

My husband and I thought we’d try a local place we’ve never been. Walking in, O’Possum’s looked and felt like a bar. Boy were my assumptions wrong! Not only are they local, they also support our local farms. All but 2 menu items are from a local farm and are made to order in the kitchen. I got the Shepard’s pie with cole slaw(homemade) while my husband got the bangers and mash. Wow! Both were large portioned(dinner size), flavorful, and presented with a casual flair. We also tried the loaded chips(fries) and they were yummy. Next time we come back I’ll try the bangers.

I don’t know how this place could have any reviews that aren’t 5 star. I went here last night with a girlfriend and every aspect of this place was awesome! Our server, Nikki, was not only very cute but so nice and seemed to know a lot about the menu. She checked up on us frequently and our beer glasses were never empty. We both had Rogue chocolate stout and it was great. We started out with the cheese nibblers appetizer and I got a side house salad. The fried cheesy curds were very good. A tad greasy but that was to be expected. The dipping sauce was a little spicy and a lot great! The house salad was so so good. And for only $ 3! I felt like the quality of ingredients alone would have made it easily a $ 7 side salad. It was decently sized too so I would go here just to grab a quick salad for lunch. For our entrees, we both ordered the Philly cheese veg. I chose the cabbage as my side and she chose the mac and cheese. I’ll start with the sides. The cabbage was good. I love cabbage and I would order it again but I’ll probably try something different next time because it wasn’t anything too special. The mac and cheese… YUM. I wish I had ordered this over the cabbage because it was made with smoked gouda and it was incredibly delicious. I saved the best for last, the Philly cheese veg. HOLYCOW. Minus the actual cow. Think Philly steak but with a veggie burger instead of the meat. I just ate my leftovers for breakfast because I woke up thinking about it. This was a cute little pub and I will most certainly go back. Great service and reasonable prices on great food!
