I come here and sell clothes when I need the extra gas money and need it quick, but will generally get more money from my clothing items if I put them on a Facebook yard sale page. I always bring in brands and items that they say they want/need/take and always end up leaving with just a few things gone from my bag and no more than 8 bucks in my wallet.

This is the best Plato’s Closet location I have ever visited! I had a great experience with the three young women working there, a great selection of trendy clothes, and very reasonable prices. If you are familiar with what to Plato’s closet is, you understand that the majority of brands purchased here will be geared towards teens and college students. Also, because they are only going to purchase what will sell in their store, they have to be picky about what they take. That being said, as nearly-30 woman, I found some gems and was very impressed with the level of professionalism and courtesy of the employees. I overheard a customer getting pretty snarky with the girls, and they still handled it graciously. Will definitely be back!

I honestly come here just to buy jeans because I don’t like shelling out $ 40 a pair for my beloved American Eagle jeans. This store needs a bigger space and more organization. If I were really wanting to shop, I feel I would need to dedicate at least an hour to sift through all the items. Buy back is hit or miss and they don’t offer you much for your items. Guys items are much more likely to be bought and they usually always take purses in good condition. Staff leaves a lot to be desired, mainly college students who are there for the paycheck. There are one or two girls who are always helpful and friendly. Stamp cards are helpful if you are a frequent shopper. Overall it’s a good place if you have certain brands you are looking for that you know they carry. Inventory is always up in the air and you better be prepared to do a lot of shuffling around the tiny aisles to let others by when it’s busy.

Waste of time unless you’re 14 – 16. Been 5 times over the last 4 months and the merch doesn’t change: very cheap brands in terrible condition.(these were never meant to last!) employees are young and inexperienced, buying expertise absurdly under par: diversify! You don’t need 98% of your stock to be Forever 21! We desperately need a Buffalo Exchange for us of higher brow consignment tastes!

Usually a pretty good selection of clothing for the main stream, follow the leader crowd, but that’s about all. Wish they would lean a little more to the eclectic, vintage style of things. Fair pricing and employees are helpful. Hard to find shoes though, they’re all just tossed around not arranged by size or anything.

If you haven’t been to Plato’s Closet, you must have recently became the Duchess of Something. What? You haven’t. Alright then, let’s talk about saving money. I’ve been to all the the Plato Locations in this area; boro, antioch, and cool springs. Plato’s Mufreesboro is awesome. It is pretty jam packed with stuff. You can be a boutique shopper that wants to see everything displayed all pretty like. There are displays but you will have to search for finds. Most of the stuff looks like its from your little sister’s closet, but the great thing about that is that they leave all the best stuff for the grown ups. I’ve pulled Bestey Johnson, bebe, BCGB, coach, and more. MYSHOPPINGTIMESAVERTIP: Don’t be overwhelmed! Here’s my personal shopping trick when it comes to mass volume stores. The great thing is that all the dresses are one huge row that has all the dresses. Start on one end and walk to the other only looking at colors and patterns. If it doesn’t catch your eye for your taste, it’s out! Next do it again. This time run your hand down the length of the row. Do Any of the items feel softer? Did it catch your eye the first time? If yes, then pull it out. Better clothing is made of better stuff. It feels better than cheaply made items or items that have been harshly cared for. You have 10 items in your hand. Cut it in half. Take the winners to the dressing room. If this dosen’t cut your selection time down to 10 minutes… you crazy! have fun!

Plato’s Closet buys gently used clothing for teen’s and 20-somethings. They have all the latest styles for a fraction of the cost. They also pay cash UPFRONT for your gently used clothing, so no waiting for your items to sell! The staff is friendly and helpful. There is really no need to shop anywhere else!
