Unless you have lots of time and money to waste, go elsewhere. I was referred to Dr. Saxena for shortness of breath and heart palpitations and after a battery of tests, was told nothing. The nurses are the practice are great, but on my last visit with Dr. Saxena I asked again what could be causing my symptoms. He suggested that another battery of tests(costly imaging studies) be done. When I asked him if things could have changed that much in the 6 months since he ordered the last set of the same costly studies(I’m talking FULL workup with echoes, CT’s, nuclear studies), his response was«oh, did we already do that? He thumbs through the chart and says, «ok, so we won’t do that» and leaves it at that. Long story short, he is VERY proud of his fancy scanning equipment and needs to pay for it. On a side note, the billing department is either extremely sloppy or completely inept. Claims that would have been paid wound up being denied due to asinine clerical errors. I would do the legwork of dealing with the insurance company and then hand deliver the necessary paperwork with reference numbers, codes, etc to the office for them to disappear in their black hole of a billing department. Next visit I would be pulled aside and told that I had a large balance, which of course was what would have been paid had they just followed up with my insurance. To top that off, while making payments to them on the part that I did owe, I kept getting statements showing no activity. You’d ask for a corrected statement, and some of the numbers might be shuffled, but no payments were reflected. Finally, I get an updated statement with NEW items from over a year prior showing my payments applied to that and my balance increased by hundreds of dollars. They tried to blame it on some computer glitch. To sum it up, if I were sitting on the doorstep of this establishment and had a massive heart attack, I’d go ten miles out of my way to find another cardiologist.
