The Nurture Nook

First off, I am a disabled veteran who hardly ever leaves the home. I haven’t had a massage in years and have many aches and pains. Due to extreme PTSD I can never relax so I decided to buy a groupon considering the last time that I was able to somewhat relax was the last time I had a massage. Anyways, the first time that I called I spoke to a woman who told me that in order to make/​hold an appointment that I needed to give her my credit card information. I am extremly cautious and was not comfortable doing this so she gave me an attitude and said she would not be able to schedule me unless I gave her the info. Since I bought a groupon, i thought that it made sence to provide the groupon information which would only be excepted if she saw it and agreed to allow me to email it. So I scheduled my appointment and when the day came, I was in so much pain the I was unable to leave my bed. Most people who have extreme pain or PTSD understand when you say that you have good days and bad days. Well, that day was a bad day. When I called this time it was a man that I spoke to who understood that I have horrible dreams and got no sleep the night before. He allowed me to keep my groupon and nicely scheduled me for a later date. The morning of my rescheduled appointment I was feeling very weak but was so excited to go that I insisted on going. My husband got me ready but because I was unable to help him much, it took longer than expected. When we looked at the clock and realized that it was 20 minutes until my scheduled appointment time and my body felt like collapsing that it was best to call and try to reschedule. A woman answered the phone and seemed happy until she realized the appointment was in 20 minutes and that my information in her system showed a groupon. She was very rude, even after I explained what was happening. I do not need extra stress and do not want to be around anyone with an attitude like that. Needless to say, I would not even purchase another groupon to go there. I gave two stars instead of one because the man who answered the phone was very nice and respectful.

I received a spa package as an anniversary gift and after 12 years of anniversaries, this was the best one! The smell and feel of this place is enough to put you at ease before you even get any work done. I swear the massage therapist has magic wands for arms. I’ve never been so relaxed. The aesthetician was equally as gifted and gave me a very relaxing and informative facial. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to treat themselves or a loved one.

I could not be more pleased. I got a whole massage package off Groupon at a great price. It was THE BEST 2 ½ hours I’ve had in a long time. Sharon did my full body massage & I believe it was the best one I’ve ever had. Zack did my facial and other treatments & was both excellent & very informative. The owner was both personable & helpful. 10 out of 10. I actually bought more packages that day and she gave me the same great price!!! I will recommend to EVERYONE I know.

Bought a package for my girlfriend for her birthday. While she enjoyed the treatments she had an attendant who was overly chatty… basically engaged her in conversation the entire time telling her life story and current updates. Unintentional on her part I’m sure but when someone is going for a treatment designed to relax you and cleanse your mind then hyper-​conversation isn’t exactly conducive to the experience. The manager might want to plant that little bug in the ear of the employees.

To start this is not too easy to spot from the road. Keep a close eye for a small house. That’s been converted.
The setting was cute and small kinda put me in mind of a place for «healing» but you will get what you need. I let them know areas I needed attention too most and she definitely delivered. Maybe next time I may ask for a little more gentle pressure but as for this trip, my muscles needed the beating.

I have been snapped, cracked and popped by the amazing hands of Cara from head to toe she massage my ears too!!! I believe I can fly!!!

I got an It’s Divine package at The Nurture Nook for Christmas. It’s very appropriately named! Everyone was super nice and attentive. Tonya worked magic on my hips and lower back! Thank you for a DIVINE experience Nurture Nook!

I hate to hear another reviewer had a bad experience with on of the employees here. But my guess it that that employee must not work here anymore, because my fiancée and I have never had anything but good experiences from the staff here. Everyone has been kind and funny and attentive.
I think they offer a discount for first time guests, so ask about that. As for the normal prices they are average for spa services. The staff is above average. My fiancée and I had foot massages and the therapists were really funny and attentive. My fiancée enjoyed bantering with them. The foot massage was good enough that we scheduled a couples «learn how to massage each other» session two months later.
The couples massage was good. There was a little too much new age «feel your partner’s energy waves without touching» «express yourself through hand gestures without speaking» (we had fun with that one to the therapists exasperation. lol) But when you got down to the techniques it did teach us some things we didn’t know and help us discover how the other liked to be massaged.
As for their tranquility room that you sit in before your treatment, we really enjoyed it. It is beside the Checkout area, but you can close the door and it really makes it feel secluded. we didn’t hear any disturbing sounds and there was soothing music playing in the background. The owner even brought us complimentary tea to enjoy until our service started.
They offer a lot of different services such as regular massage, some steam room treatments, a honey wrap, four handed massage, scrubs, rubs, and scents and sinus treatments. They even offer a half day spa escape package that I would love to one day take advantage of.

I had previously been to The Nurture Nook on two occasions and both experiences were positive. The first time I went by myself to use a gift certificate for a 60 minute massage I received for Christmas. My experience was good enough that my wife and I decided to go back for a couples massage on Valentine’s Day this past February. Our therapists were again very good and we had a nice experience.
When we decided to hang around town for our vacation at the end of last month, we thought it would be nice to enjoy another couples massage at The Nurture Nook.
When we arrived, we were greeted as we walked down the hallway by a therapist who was obviously relaxing, since she had a heating pad around her neck. Now, I understand that it is actually difficult to provide massages and that a heating pad may be needed, but I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect that therapist to be re-​engergizing somewhere out of site since it appears quite unprofessional. We then rounded the corner to the receptionist area and, after being checked in, were guided to our seating area.
My wife had to use the restroom so I waited by myself. While I waited, a therapist or assistant was in the room next door emptying some sort of basin holding water. It was terribly loud and did not go hand-​in-​hand with the «Tranquility Room» I was waiting in. When my wife came back a few minutes later she was in tears. One of the therapists made a comment to her that she was extremely offended by. She was upset to the point I could tell that she was not going to relax and enjoy her massage (which is the entire point of getting a massage) and so we left. On our way out I told the receptionist that I understood that people are typically charged the full amount if they cancel with less than 24 hours notice, and that I did not expect to see that charge show up since we arrived early and were «driven» away by the way we were handled upon arrival.
We were not charged anything which was the only «positive» of the experience. As we where leaving, we booked an appointment with Blue River Canyon in Brentwood for the next day and had the wonderful and relaxing type of experience you should expect when you go to a spa.

NEVER AGAIN.
My husband and I were taking advantage of our «staycation» and decided to get massages at what used to be our favorite place to get a massage in Murfreesboro. We arrived to our appointment early, and not even five minutes after being there, a therapist made an offensive comment to me in the hallway. I have never been so offended. I thought, «How random was that?»
This place is very small, and I figured that the woman that made a comment was probably going to be either mine or my husband’s therapist. We were scheduled to get a couple’s massage and after that point, I couldn’t relax because I was so upset. We explained to the front desk staff that we were sorry, but we weren’t going to be able to stay for our appointment. Apparently they heard her make the comment to me as well because they apologized immediately without explanation and said that it wasn’t a problem and that there would not be a service charge for a late cancellation.
My husband received a call from the owner a few hours later and while she was apologetic, we will not be back. As a person that has worked in customer service for many years, I would never speak to a client the way I was spoken to and I will not be a patron of any business that allows such unprofessionalism.
On another note from my previous review:
We loved the therapists that we had in February 2011, Christy and Melissa, but after booking this most recent appointment at the Nurture Nook we found out that neither one of them work there any longer. They are what made our experience in February wonderful.

This place is worth every cent. Just used a Groupon here today for a massage and a couple other spa services. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had. These people are extremely professional and sweet, the place is calming, and the prices are totally reasonable for the quality of service. It’s located in a converted home which adds to the comfort of the place. It’s a bit of a drive from Nashville, but I will certainly be back. Definitely worth it. I’ll be happy to pay full price on my next visit.
