Murphy Hospital

Took my wife into the emergency room and was told the wait could be 2 – 3 hours. 5 hours later, we hadn’t seen a nurse, PA or a doctor. At no time did anyone from the ER staff communicate about the prolonged wait, higher than normal volume, short staff, etc.
A person (I think the doctor) even came into her room, washed and dried his hands but left without saying a word.
Notified a staff member and she didn’t seem to care about the wait. Luckily, my wife was feeling a little better and we decided to be discharged without seeing a doctor or a nurse.
I looked but did not see any customer/​patient satisfaction cards but I will be calling 828−837−8161 which is listed on the Murphy Medical website to report any concerns.
Next time if my family has an issue, I’ll seriously consider taking them to Union General in Blairsville, Ga.

Dr. Jaffe was awesome and nurses were great. Everyone was very attentive to my needs. The time in and out was amazing for emergency room visit. The receptionist very also very nice. Followed up with us the next day after the incident. Very impressed! The next time I do something stupid in Fl I am going to drive to Murphy to go to the ER.
