Just moved to Murphy and this was our first visit to Valley River Brewery. We will be regulars! Great beer selection, food and friendly service! Fresh cut fries! Nannette was a great server! Cute décor, too!

Saw this place the last time we were in Murphy and said next time we’ll stop. Well, yesterday, we did. What a delightful lunch it was. Started with a pretzel and beer cheese dip. Excellent! I know my pizza, so of course we had to have one. Had our typical Italian sausage and tomato pizza. To start with, the crust was definitely hand made. Plus 1. The sauce was very tasty with a nice basil flair. Plus 2. The cheese… OHTHECHEESE. Whole milk mozzarella that had complete coverage and was so thick and stringy and oh so amazing. Plus 3 Sausage was good, nothing special, but plenty of it. Plus 4. On to the brews. Great selection. Had a sampler of Dunkel, Porter, ESB and Pear Cider. The quality was excellent. Great staff, Marnie, our waitress was fantastic. We will return

Wow, so glad this joint opened up! Great pizza, cool décor, and helpful staff. I’ve tried both new pizza joints and this one has the better pizza. The barnyard pizza is great but you can get a great pizza with just two toppings also. I’ve tried the pretzel, onion rings, and the garlic knot appetizers and that’s how I’d rank them too. The garlic knots were weak but the pretzel with the beer cheese dip was tasty and soft. The onion rings passed the break and pull test, as the onion stayed in the shell. With the pizza that brick oven is the key to their great crust. The pizza is kinda pricey but you are getting a much higher quality compared to a chain. We typically spend $ 30 with tip for a barnyard pizza, one appetizer, and one drink. I knocked them one star because the barnyard pizza we got last time didn’t match up to the amazing first one we had. Fix that to have more consistency and you got something great!

My pizza was OK. I am not much of a pizza fan. I find myself judging pizza against Mello Mushroom and Tellico Grains. Two outstanding pizza makers. The star of the night were the pretzels. I want a pretzel right now! The homemade root beer was flat. The fries were so overcooked that they were a deep brown color. The pizza sauce was tasty. I don’t drink so the brewery part of it is lost on me. I will say that there is room for improvement. The service is excellent the food is OK… I would grab a pizza from here before going to Pizza Hut or Downtown Pizza. Everyone at our table said this should be a three star review. But I can’t see giving them that low of a score.
