Our waitress was an absolute delight which made our whole meal enjoyable ! The super grande chili verse burrito can not be topped and was big enough to feed three people ! Margarita was enjoyed by all!

Slow, slow service, jeesh! 20 minute wait for a torta! Meat was tough. It’s too bad because the restaurant is in a great location.

food wasn’t bad just a little pricey for what you got. The chips were store bought and the salsa just wasn’t spicy enough for me.

Cold tasteless food. I had the caldo de pollo and a side of beans. The soup was Luke warm and the beans were cold. It cost five dollars for a side of cold beans which is absolutely ridiculous even if the actually tasted good. The chicken in the soup was extremely dry and chewy it must have been reheated several times or cooked by someone very careless and/or ignorant of proper cooking technique. Needless to say they will never get my business again.

LOVETHISPLACE, for so many reasons. Let me count the ways… 1. They serve up decent gringo-mex food. 2. They always provide me with friendly service, unlike El Vaquero in Arnold. 3. They have Negra Modelo beer ONTAP and they serve it in a chilled glass. 4. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio, next to a babbling brook, beneath a big shady tree. 5. They are open 7 days a week, to better serve you. 6. They have several locations, in business since 1985. They must be doing something right. Looking forward to my next visit.

We came here July 25th before a concert at Ironstone Vineyards. OMG what a mess! I don’t know if half the staff was out sick or what but the service was terrible. The food was once we finally got served(we had a lot of time to kill so we stuck it out) but the rice tasted kind of funny so I’m not sure what’s up with that.

Stopped here on my way out of Bear Valley and got the Supreme Burrito. It was fantastic! Very small place and the service was just a tad slow for my personal liking, but I quickly forgot about the service because the burrito was so good.

We were hungry and our expectations were high, too high apparently. We were seated outside. We sat at dirty, dusty tables and chairs. Spiderwebs lined the fence and décor elements. Between the patio — where we sat– and the main restaurant construction workers worked on restaurant upgrades running saws and other power tools while we ate. NOT pleasant. The service was very slow, the food was cold and very poorly prepared. But the absolute biggest disappointment were our drinks: the Sangria was very sour and I had the worst blended margarita I have ever had the misfortune of drinking. Simple review: poor service, poor ambiance, poor overpriced food. NOT recommended.

Stopped by for dinner and received excellent service for our group of six. I had the grilled chicken salad for $ 10.95 and it was outstanding. It wasn’t exactly as described on the menu but the grilled chicken was perfection and I very much enjoyed it. My husband had a fish taco dinner and he really liked his too and nobody else complained and said they liked the food. There salsa was very good too. I recommend El Jardin if you are wanting Mexican food in the are.

I have always liked the food and the service here. Tonight I was extremely disappointed. Even though there was only one table being served we waited and waited for our waiter. it took forever to get our food and when we did we never saw him again. All the food was drowned in super salty, inedible sauce. The last time we came I had a tostada with pork Chile Verde. Even it was soggy from being drowned in sauce. I’m assuming the place has been sold as the food now sucks and none of the old staff are there. And they don’t have flour chips anymore. I’m not going back.

I will keep this short and simple. Garbage food today. Cold taco. Cold carnitas. Soggy tortilla shells. Bland beans more like soup consistency. Burnt rice. Horrible food. It’s the first time I’m guessing a new cook? I won’t return for the food but may have a michelada.

I really want to like this place, nice staff, slowish service and just ok authentic Mexican food… But it’s hard to like a restaurant that’s in the middle of wine country that doesn’t even bother to offer local wines… Get with the program and service some good local wine — not Sonoma or Washington wines. There are plenty to choose from…

I believe this is the original spot — and it is THEBESTMEXICANFOOD I HAVEEVERHAD. Bless them for letting us sit by the stream when they wanted to close it off(we arrived at the end of lunchtime), and it was HEAVEN. Just a beautiful, perfect lunch. Definitely a regular spot for us when we head up to Gold Rush Country!

Ate here for the first time ever on 11/10/2014 based on good recommendations of family. I was NOT disappointed!!! I ordered one of my typical Mexican favorites; Carnitas.(which I have ordered in restaurants all over the state of California.) It was AMAZING!!! Incredible depth of flavor, beyond my wildest food dreams. Served with rice and beans and fresh warm tortillas, it was spectacular. It is now the standard by which I will judge all future orders of carnitas. If you love carnitas, and are in the neighborhood, this is a «must visit».

We hosted our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding at Ironstone last month, and I couldn’t have been happier! We reserved the whole back area by the creek and served a taco bar(which was super yummy) with margaritas and sangria to our 50 guests. It was such a perfect ambience, and was exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant staff was so helpful in booking, and remembered me every time I stopped by for a to-go burrito on my way home from visiting the venue. That night, the wait staff for our event were so sweet and were having such a good time. If I was to do it all over again, I would do it the exact same. Thank you Mary and the staff at El Jardin!

Where we go for Mexican food in Murphys. So many menu items that we love. Carnitas, chili rellenos, Baja tacos, burritos and the fajitas. Chips and salsa and cabbage mix delivered when you are seated. Nice patio area next to the creek. They just started Taco Night on Thursdays. Great service staff.

I am not one to trash talk restaurants and let me tell you about this experience. The staff was very polite and the ambience in the back is very relaxing. But we ended up in the bathroom with diarrhea and vomiting. I ordered a chimichanga… which was not a chimechanga at all… I might as well have ordered a super burrito. It tasted less than mediocre. Everyone that got food said it tasted less than mediocre. We were all hungry though so we ate nearly all our food and took back what we didn’t finish. A few hours later we all either threw up or had awful diarrhea for a few hours until everything was out of our system. Overall I would not go to this place unless you are going for dessert. They don’t have a liquor license either so you can’t even order margarita. This restaurant has good potential with their location and set up but they seriously need help in the area of their food and the cleanliness of their kitchen.

Meh. It’s just plain old Americanized Mexican food. If you’re into that, I guess this is a good place. I’ll cross post this review for all their locations I’ve tried, because they’re all the same. The inside is usually clean and service can be hit or miss. Most of the time I have had no problem, and they’re friendly enough. I do have to at least appreciate that they make fresh flour tortilla chips, you usually only get one or two in your basket(the rest are corn). I would totally pay extra to get a full basket of the flour!
