I’m a pretty finicky cupcake eater. My wife being my favorite baker, I seem to always eat cupcakes elsewhere that I find are too heavy, too light, too sweet, too dense, not dense enough etc. Having said all that, these were delicious. Cake was perfect on everything we tried and flavors were executed perfectly. My only gripe, the frosting on one of the flavors was a little heavy on the butter, leaving a film on my lips. But seriously, if you’re in murphys, stop here.

My mom had told me about this place, and me with my love of cupcakes, I just had to stop in here and try a couple! We stopped in and picked up a half dozen to take home with us and eat later. The inside is pretty small, but definitely cute and clean. Very important characteristics of a bakery. I decided to get the chocolate peanut butter, chocolate with chocolate ganache, and the cookies and cream cupcake. I’m normally a big chocolate fan, so i was expecting the chocolate ganache one to be my favorite. But after trying these three, I would definitely say my favorite was the cookies and cream one! It was white cake but had broken up oreo like pieces in it, whith a cookies and cream frosting on top. Delicious! Would definitely come back here just for that cupcake. They were also on cupcake wars, and had three unique flavors for sale that were featured on the show.

I was so excited to find a bakery that made a great gluten free cupcake. I have been buying Lila’s GF cupcakes for a couple years and although under new ownership I thought the recipes would be the same. I was wrong. I bought 3 regular cupcakes for my family and a gluten free vanilla with chocolate ganache for myself. I was shocked that my cupcake was utterly inedible. The ganache was good but the cake was doughy, gummy and tasteless. It looked like a muffin rather than a cupcake and it was simply awful. My family tried it and agreed. After one bite I had to throw it away. So disappointed. I am hoping there was some mistake made in the kitchen and next time it will be fine, but if it tastes the same it will be the last time I buy cupcakes there. Fortunately, my family agreed the regular cupcakes were quite yummy.

Thank you so much to Lila and Sage for our wedding cake and cookies that we did as favors all within a reasonable price. We had 150 guests and ordered a 4 tier cake as well as 2 cookies per guest for favors which only costed us $ 1200! Not to mention our cake’s design looked EXACTLY like the photo we have them. I would definitely recommend Lila and Sage to anyone looking for the perfect wedding cake!

They catered both my wedding and rehearsal dinner and knocked it out of the park. Everything was fantastic down to the last detail. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend them for any events or just stop by the shop and enjoy a cupcake.

We used Lila & Sage for both our wedding catering and cupcakes and couldn’t be happier. Skye was amazing and truly felt like a friend by the end — she made sure all of our questions were answered and we were supported in every little detail — even down to creating a special kids table menu 2 weeks out. I kept hearing from my family and friends that the food was«so much better than the usual wedding food» which was awesome! Having Lila & Sage also do the service aspects made it all so easy — Skye handled everything and has great relationships with the other vendors, even coordinated our rentals and rehearsal! She was even there bright and early the morning after to ensure everything was cleaned and packed away. If you’re getting married or throwing a party near the Murphys area, I highly recommend Lila & Sage!

This place won cupcake wars for a reason. You can taste it in their cakes. Super moist and balanced with flavors. So far I have eaten the mint chocolate cupcake I bought about 2 hours ago. Excellent! Thank you!

Horrible business! Negative negative stars! They may have good cupcakes but do not trust them for any occasion! They don’t even care enough to write things down! Forgot our cake and ruined our day!

Lila and Sage catered my wedding on June 27, 2015 at a private home in Sonora. From the moment we met Karen, we knew we wanted her to cater the wedding. And then we met Skye, who was equally amazing. Our first tasting was excellent and we ended up picking most of our food from that tasting. My husband loves fried chicken, and we decided to come back for a second tasting of oven fried chicken, which was also amazing. Everyone at our wedding raved, and is still raving, about the food and the wedding cake. Both Skye and Karen were professional, responsive, and creative. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and we give a lot of credit to Lila and Sage for making our dream wedding a reality!

Lila & Sage created a beautiful spread for our wedding at Venticello over the fourth of July weekend. The staff was SO helpful at the event and I knew that we were in good hands. Leading up to the event, there had been a change in ownership so there was a bit of confusion about who was responsible for what aspect. That being said, on the day of, I knew that they had essential expertise and that they would execute our vision. The food is tasty, delicious, creative and filling. They clearly know what they are doing and I would gladly recommend them for any wedding!

We used Lila & Sage for our wedding in Murphy’s on June 20th. Everything was delicions and everyone HAD to know where we got our cupcakes from… they were delicious! The team was professional, on time and friendly throughout the entire process and prices were very agreeable. We could not be happier with our choice. We highly recommend Lila & Sage! =-)

If I could I would give a zero. Trust the negative reviews. We were fooled after reading her responses to the bad reviews and meeting her in person into thinking it would be different. We first spoke through email about catering our wedding. We liked what she had to say and offer so we proceeded. We live out of state and scheduled a date to meet with her in person. We also had a sister fly in from out of state for the tasting. When we arrived at the shop she was not there and we were told she was at another location. That should have given us a clue she did not have it all together. Even though she knew we were flying into town just for this there was nothing to taste besides cupcakes… That should have been clue number two. But we liked her vibe and cupcakes so we decided to move forward. We wanted her to cater, make cupcakes, coordinate with flowers and rentals, and day of coordination. We were told we would have an estimate in a few weeks. We flew back home feeling confident and excited about our decision. Two weeks went by and nothing. Another week went by and nothing… Fearing something has happened to her we called the shop to make sure she was okay. She was. We were told by an employee she was okay and out of the shop for the day. We left a message for her asking her to call or email asap. We waited and nothing… Another week went by and nothing. We called the shop and left a second message. Nothing. To this day we have not heard from her. It was truly awful to meet with someone, hit it off, feel confident that they were going to handle so many different aspects for your wedding and then nothing… We had to rush around and find businesses to replace what she promised to do. I would not trust this woman or do business with her. Very unprofessional.

Dropped in here during a 6-hour wine tasting tour with friends*. Obviously, that much wine-and-walking requires a snack break, so I ducked into Lila & Sage to check out my options. I debated going with a more«traditional» flavor, but was too curious about the Almond Salted Rose not to try it out. I was in, picked, paid, and out in about 60 seconds. Easy peasy! And ooooh, boy. This cupcake. I will be real with y’all– I’m not the biggest cake or cupcake fan on earth. Don’t love cake, don’t like most frosting, and find dozens of other dessert options to be infinitely more tasty. I was very VERY pleasantly delighted with the Almond Rose. A great, unique flavor, without being sickeningly, saccharinely sweet like so many other cakes. The frosting wasn’t too poofy nor too heavy; those are terrible adjectives to describe frosting, but hopefully you know where I’m going with this. I gave pieces to 4 other people in my group to try, and each one agreed it was a dream. Unfortunately(or for my waistline, maybe fortunately), I live like 2 hours from here so it’s unlikely I’ll make it back out anytime soon. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop! *Side note: I was not drunk during my cupcake consumption, so this did not affect my feelings on the flavors :)

I am very disappointed with this business. I visited in January to put in an inquiry for my wedding and was told to provide contact information so that the business owner could get back to me. She never did. I ended up emailing her and she took an extremely long time to respond(definitely a few weeks). I also had tried their cupcakes during my visit and unfortunately they were definitely on the dry side(was shocked due to them being on «Cupcake Wars»). I wanted to give them another chance during a potential tasting, but that never happened due to the horrible response times(who on earth would trust someone’s reliability when they take weeks to get back to you?). Ultimately, I ended up going with a responsive and fantastic baker in Sonora instead. Due to my sour experience, I would not recommend Lila & Sage nor visit again.

YUMMIEST cupcakes I’ve ever had made with fresh ingredients and love! I had the honey lavender cupcake, one of the Cupcake Wars winners and it was so beautifully delicious! Can’t wait to try more! Just wish they were open longer hours! But that’s usual for small town businesses in Murphys.

Cupcakes rock… and these are some great cupcakes. Try the Cupcake Wars winner with the Honey in it. Yum! Everyone raves over the Vegan cupcakes too. Picking up two dozen for a party today — didn’t bother to specify which flavors as they are all that good! Make it an especially fun day and take your cupcakes down the street to Newsome Harlow to pair with their chilled Sauvignon Blanc. Sit on the patio and enjoy the tunes and a glorious pairing with your cupcakes. I’ve always found the service to be outstanding too. Call backs from Karen after hours to verify an order, accommodating staff in the shop. Just doesn’t get better.

I really was very disappointed with these cupcakes. I came with a very large group so I got to try just about every cupcake and none of them were pleasing to my group or I. I think we all ended up dumping them! The staff was not very friendly. The décor and style of the place was wonderful. I thought I had just walked into cupcake heaven. I LOVE cupcakes! But not theirs. Winner of Cupcake Wars? …OK

I’m on a no sugar kick for this month but when I saw that this place won Cupcake Wars I had to cave in. I decided on an Almond Rose Salted Caramel cupcake, which was more expensive because it won on Cupcake Wars(weird but okay) I tried to make small talk with the young girl behind the counter but she was rude and uninterested in anything I had to say. I know sometimes working in customer service you can be having an off day, but you still have to be friendly to customers. The cupcake looked a bit off, the frosting looked very fluffy and meringue like. One bite of the cupcake and I was done. It was much too sweet, it tasted like half a bottle of almond extract had been poured into the cupcake. I got no other flavors besides almond and a disgusting greasy frosting. Not worth 3.50 and breaking my willpower. Cupcake meet trash can.
