Today I spent $ 18.78 buying dinner and a treat for my family. The staff was brusque, but I wrote this off to it being fairly busy. I ordered two malts with my food, and wanted a drink tray as my car doesn’t have cup holders, but with the woman in drive through being impatient plus the cold outside I figured I would just juggle them on the ride home as she seemed to be harried. It must be difficult to constantly have to open a window to cold wind all shift long. Once I got home I discovered my two malts were actually shakes. This is not the first time this has happened to me at this Dairy Queen. Frustrated, I called the store to tell them of their mistake. The rude woman who answered offered no apology. During the entire phone call she did not express sympathy or apology for the mistake. I was offered two malts if I wanted to get back in my car, while it was sleeting, and drive back to the Dairy Queen. When I said that I wasn’t able to do that she did say she would«put my name on the board» for two malts the next time I came in, but she was rude and clearly did not care at all. Honestly, I probably will never retrieve those malts as I am never going to return to that store. If the staff cannot be bothered to care about the customers, what else do they not care about? I have worked fast food and customer service and I am pretty patient as I know that it is a demanding job. There were several different points in my visit to this store where one little apology, or offer of a drink tray, a smile, or simply one little speck of human kindness to a customer would have made everything ok. Apparently, that was beyond the staff at this store.

I love Dairy Queen. My only complaint is the inconsistency in availability of butterscotch cones. They don’t have butterscotch or cherry dip at this location, but they do have the full grill available.
