The place has been in the location for a number of years, however we were unaware of the food. Had been in the area 10 years and never knew they did more than frozen pizza or pre made sandwiches that they microwaved! Go figure! We moved to Tucson in early 14, came back to finalize things here in the close vicinity, heard they had good food so ordered takeout. Great Philly Steak sandwiches! Ordered a side of onion rings and just got 4 small to medium ones. Fries were larger portioned. Sandwiches were large and very filling. If ever back in the area we will more than likely try them again.

Food is good, service is good, location is good. Invest some time and energy in cleaning up the interior finishes. It’s «shabby», but that may be a part of the appeal.

We were back in the area again after a few years. The last time we visited Firehouse Grill, we were totally blown away. This time, not so much. Although it is a friendly joint with good service, the food has declined to «mediocre». The strip steak was of excellent quality, but marinated in a sweet whiskey sauce that I would not order again. It just tasted weird. And the side dishes– green beans and baked potato– were not good at all.

It’s a great breakfast place. That means there will occasionally be lines. It’s good… you should try it. PS: ask the owner(bald dude… seems to be in a hurry when the place is busy) to recite his«Ode to Havelock»

Finally made it on a Saturday to try the prime rib special and it was huge and very tender, though there was a bit more fat than I appreciate.(The dog was ecstatic when we got home, though!) I was disappointed that the bacon wrapped green beans don’t seem to be offered anymore, but absolutely must put in a good word for the bread pudding — scrumptious!

Well I’d been by, and I’d heard good things and I had perused a very eclectic menu. On what has become a very circuitous trip from Sidney to Lincoln I stopped this morning for breakfast. I had something off their normal breakfast menu that included hashbrowns and when I asked that these be left off, the waitress(who also turned out to be the owner) said«no problem, I’ll just not charge you for the coffee and we can call it even» I knew I was in small town heaven. When the 2 biscuits smothered in homemade sausage gravy arrived with 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs, my suspicions were confirmed. Great job. I will be back to check out the rest of the menu.
