In terms of parks, this one has it all, including a tunnel that runs beneath 5300 S. You can walk, bike, hit the playground, enjoy a pavilion and hit the field for the more space-intensive activities. It also has a decent amount of shade, thanks to the travel following and along the Jordan River. Like most parks, when there are bathrooms, they tend to be locked a lot of the time, but they are there and decent, for the most part when open. It’s hard for me to think of a way to improve this park and it’s probably one of the more popular ones with good reason. This one is pretty well maintained and has two separate parking lots, on either side of 5300 S. I used this one a ton for a pit stop here and there during my heavy biking days, sometimes even when I didn’t need one, just for sheer enjoyment. It’s one of the few things I miss about moving from Murray to Sugarhood.

We just wanted to find a quick playground for the kids to play at one day when they had a little too much energy. There’s some good open field space(suitable for soccer/football/frisbee) around the play equipment, and it’s along the Jordan River Parkway trail, so it’s well maintained. There is a covered area for events, and some BBQs for cooking which can be booked on a first come first served basis. Nothing extravagant, but great for stretching yours(and your little ones) legs.
