Staff is amazing, friendly. Best beer and place to be at and to have a drink. I highly recommend it.

Looked like a cool enough place, but my friend and I went in there for the first time and the staff didn’t say a word to us. I said hi and waited, then walked around, then waited some more as they just stared at us rudely. About five minutes later we turned around and left. Rude staff and horrible to nonexistent service. They just lost a great potential customer before I even had a chance to sit down for a pint. You can get better customer service at any other establishment in town.

Awesome tap room and awesome staff! They are constantly rotating the tap handles with brews from all across the US. They also sell bottles to go. A must visit on your Temecula /Murrieta beer route!

What a wonderful, hidden gem! This place is sure to blow up in popularity. Great selection of brews on tap including some Nitro ones. First time ever experiencing that as opposed to CO2 and it made some beers I’ve previously had so much more enjoyable. Rod, our beertender, suggested them because the nitrous is «smaller bubbles» and totally made the beer so much smoother. Rod even helped us pick some choice brews to take home based on what we enjoyed during our visit. Awesome, awesome place that I almost want to keep to myself but it is so good I have to share!

Was initially stoked to try this place out because I found them at the I15 brew festival. Heard good things about it but the moment we walked in we got turned away because we brought our 10 month old in with us. The owner said we can’t be in there because he isn’t 21. Not to mention he reeked of weed. So I can bring a 10 month old to a brew festival but not to a tap house? Well, I’m on my way to devilicious now, they allow my 10 month old so I will gladly donate my money to them rather than this company. I will never even go there to buy bottles to take home.

So I go to the bottle shop today for an afternoon beverage, in walks this couple with an infant baby. Now in any restaurant this may be ok, but there is a large sign directly on the front door stating clearly that this place is 21 and over. Do you not understand this is a BAR? What does bottle shop and tap room mean to you? Hey let’s load up the kids and go drinking tonight! Then, I see this review of some Jordan guy complaining about the shop for not letting them in. I was sitting right there. The bartender politely approached the couple and explained to them that it was 21 and over, they made a smart ass remark and left. 1. There are laws restricting limits of who can and can’t come in to certain establishments. If you have a complaint contact the California ABC. Don’t go on Unilocal and complain about it. It is very clearly stated on the front door this place is 21+! 2. Way to go on a public forum and brag about all the places you go get wasted and bring your infant child! Really? Does a 10 month old belong at a beer festival or bar? 3. Saying the bartender smelled like weed is completely stupid. This guy stood in front of me for 2 hours talking beer. I’m pretty sure I would have noticed if he stepped out for something like that. He was awesome. Bottom line is the Backyard Bottle Shop is a great place to go. The staff and owners are friendly and professional at all times. There are rules to owning a bar, and apparently some people just don’t get it. If you wanna go to a place where you don’t have to worry about giant Mice or game tokens this is the place for you. If you have kids, I would recommend a family friendly place, not a bar. Hey Jordan, maybe on your way home you could hit a couple night clubs, or a strip joint! Have a couple more drinks and drive your infant child home!

Very laid back and cool place. There are barstools, tables, and a sofa for people to spread out on. When I came in, it wasn’t crowded so the place seemed pretty big. The staff is great. They were friendly and easy to talk to. This is a good place to grab a drink and hang out.

Yes! Oh my gosh I love this place! So many beers to choose from, great atmosphere, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable employees, oh and they partner with Stadium Pizza which is my favorite local pizza place. What’s not to love? We met with some friends in the early afternoon last Saturday. The place was pretty empty so we were able to get great recommendations and lots of attention from the gentleman behind the bar(didn’t catch his name) we were also able to snag the spot on the couch! We met with some friends and drank beer and played cards(which were on the table) we then ordered some pizza from Stadium Pizza(you are also allowed to bring your own food from other places as well!) pizza, craft beer, chill vibes, playing cards and good conversation with friends made for a great afternoon. We grabbed some St Archers’ Mosaic IPA(my husband’s favorite) in a bottle to go. We had a bottle there as well and were provided with a glass to enjoy it in :) what a great experience! Will definitely be back!

Lasts top on a lengthy Brewery tour I came here on a Saturday looking for non local beers. I wanted something different as all the local breweries only carry their stuff or collabo’s with Stone or Karl Strauss, also local breweries. Shared strip mall parking and an otherwise lackluster sign they are small. Mostly open space with a few tall tables and a few shared picnic style tables outside and some couches. It sits perpendicular to the setting sun so you get a very blinding contrast from inside to out, no windows. A tall long bar with a shorter handicapped landing area. Dark interior with natural woods. Chalk board menu 20+ deep with varieties well beyond Socal and styles from traditional to modern experimentals. Full info like ABV, IBU and brewery are welcoming. Proper glassware is used for each style with taster flights available along with half pours. Lots of bottles in fridges along the side wall are even more varied. Food menu is small and bar bites-esque. You won’t find tapas or small bites, just chips &Salsa, soft pretzel and a bistro box which I imagine is more of a fruits and crackers, cheese sort of bistro box from Starbucks The pretzel is on the small side, but well made with proper crust. Not enough salt and not bold enough on the mustard, the beer cheese dipping sauce is barely enough and I was hoping for a more bold cheese flavor. Worth it when food trucks aren’t here. Food is a hair on the hefty side for my wallet. Ipad POS with e-mail option. Service is good, thought it wasn’t busy when I came in so talking about beers wasn’t rushed. There is this strange concept of paying beer forward to where you can buy beer for people to come in and try, though I’m uncertain how they are notified or if there is an electronic part I’m missing or an expiration part. It’s like a wall of fame for gift cards. Prices are competitive considering it’s a bottle room and not a brewery. I don’t really plan on coming back here just for this, but thought and think it’s a great place to end a brewery tour with a place that has non local beer. Even the locals can get sick of the local water from time to time and cleanse the palate.

Came here for the first time tonight with my husband and we were very surprised how the place was inside, very clean, nice and chill. We met the owner Charles, he was the one who served us, he was nice and professional. We like how this place had pretty good selection of craft beers, they only serve though appetizers but the hummus that we had was good and tasty. The owner also told us that you are welcome to bring in food from other restaurant which we thought was cool. We’re glad we found this place, will be back here soon.

I’ve been curious about this place ever since I first noticed its banner on my way to the gym a while ago, and tonight I finally checked it out with a couple friends. There’s so many positive things to mention about this place so I’ll just list them all: — John was so helpful when recommending beers & wine. He definitely knows what he’s talking about, and we learned a few new things from him as well. — There’s a small private room with a TV that can be reserved for small get togethers. — Bottles are 15% off when you take ‘em to go. — The restrooms are nice and clean. — The atmosphere is very chill, perfect for hanging out with friends. There’s a comfortable couch and a couple decks of cards to play with. — There’s an awesome«beer it forward» system where you can buy a beer for someone who you know is going to visit in the future. — They sell beer bread mixes! How fun! — There’s wifi! They have an excellent selection of beers. My favorites from the flights we had were the Boulder Chocolate Porter(nitrogen… so so smooth), the Ellie’s, and the Dark House. I’ll be ordering those again soon. Only con would be that they close pretty early. Around 9:00pm on a Friday night. Hopefully, as their popularity grows(because I know it will), they’ll start to close later. I can definitely see my friends and I as regulars here. Five stars!

ETA: A full five stars! Beer, staff, and ambiance are awesome. Backyard Bottleshop and Taproom is a recently opened watering hole candidate for the area. Located in a quiet corner of a mall along Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Margarita Road, it may be difficult to spot, but the space is great. With a bar, tables, lounge sofas, and wooden patio benches, it can accommodate a good crowd and provides nice ambiance. After a few unsuccessful visits(because they were closed), I finally came on an evening they were open… and went back subsequent days. BBT has a great selection of draft craft beer from a lot of local breweries and special edition kegs as well, available in full pours(12 oz), half pours, and tasters or flights at reasonable prices. There is also an extensive bottle selection. Over three visits, I’ve tried a couple of half pours and flights and enjoyed all of them. John was really helpful in explaining the chalkboard pricing, as well as offering his knowledge of hops and flavors. Other tidbits: they have a limited food menu(pretzels, chips & salsa, bistro box) that aren’t the cheapest items, but understandable and appreciated for a small business; logo merchandise is available; you can buy a beer for someone and leave it on their giant chalkboard; bottles are discounted when you buy them to-go; dog friendly patio. All in all, the Backyard is a sweet place to have in our back yard and I see myself as a potential regular. For now, they are only open Thursday-Sunday as they build clientele, but every time I’ve gone in, it seemed they had a good flow of business. Come by to support a new local favorite!

They have 5 stars for a reason. This place is doing everything right and it’s just going to keep getting better. They’ve only been open for 10 weeks and already they know what people want when it comes to a tap house. The atmosphere– It has the perfect vibe! One of the owners is an engineer and designed the tables himself! The service– The moment you walk in the door you feel like a regular. Super down to earth owners who have no agenda outside of wanting to be your friend and serve you great beer. The cost– If you are used to dining in superb establishments and drinking craft beer, you should have no problem when the bill shows up. The menu– Like I said, they’ve only been open for 10 weeks so they are still adding things and tweaking flavors. But it’s still a sufficient menu for a tap house. Do yourself a favor and skip out on old town Temecula tonight, avoid the parking and crowds and snobby waiters. Instead go to a place where you will feel relaxed, valued, and appreciated. Go to Backyard Bottleshop and Taproom!!!

Well well well, Murrieta finally has a place to grab a great pint at an affordable price. Enter the Backyard Bottleshop and Taproom. This place is awesome and has a wonderful selection of hard to find craft beers, both on draft and in the bottle. These guys have created an atmosphere where you can walk in, enjoy some music, have a beer and just take in the ambiance. There is a MASSIVE bar with ample seating, a couple of flat screen TVs to watch the game, a couch to lounge on and a couple of standalone pub style tables for your gatherings. You may be surprised what you find here, they have an extremely broad selection of local as well as nor cal crafts such as Almanac IPA from San Jose, mmmmm. I almost forgot to mention their extensive inventory of local wines, soooo good! I would highly recommend this place as a kick back spot for you and your buddies while enjoying the friendly service. This is probably the best taproom of its kind in the Temecula/Murrieta area. Pros– Location Beer selection Wine selection Ambiance Atmosphere Service Uniqueness Cons– Needs signage

Great place! Huge beer selection(draft and bottle) that is always expanding. Reasonably priced($ 3.50 for a ~10oz pour is a great deal) and a great atmosphere. I especially love the«Beer it Forward» chalkboard where you can buy your friends a beer that will be waiting for them the next time they come in. I will be a regular at this great shop!
