Braids In the City

It’s very sad to see that some people take their business for granted. I’m not the one to write reviews but I felt the need to let hard working consumers be aware of anyone who’s not worth the money. So here’s what drove me to write this review with a heavy heart.
I had an appointment scheduled with Vicky a week in advance and as a reminder I text her a couple of hours prior to make sure we are still scheduled to take my braids out. Only to get a reply that we should reschedule for the next day because she has to take her kids to the dentist. Now I’m a mother of two so I understand that your child’s health takes priority. However I don’t have any sympathy towards anyone who has a lack of common decency to at least give me a heads up if an appointment needs to be rescheduled. So pretty much if I had not taken the initiative to send Vicky a text I would have more than likely waste my time going to the shop only to be told she’s not there. (Unbelievable!)
What really upsets me the most is that I have two young children whom I had to make childcare arrangements for ahead of time. What made matters worse was Vicky’s solution to the situation. She first suggested for me to reschedule the next day which absolutely would not work since I needed my braids out for another hair appointment I had previously scheduled. Then she told me, instead of asking me to come in later that evening which would not work for me since I could not arrange for childcare in that short space of time. Now I’m left with taking my own braids out which I despise and would rather leave to the professionals. (Unbelievable!)
Customer service is a big deal to me especially since I work very hard for my money so for everyone out there who work hard I don’t want to see you taken for granted by anyone who’s has no customer service etiquette.

Needed some hair and this place had it (after searching ALL over Moreno Valley)! They have 2 people that can do braids: 1 of them only does your standard braids (singles, box braids) and the other does the two-​strand twist/​Senegalese twists and she only works on the weekends. Decent selection of hair, wigs and products. I wouldn’t go out my way to go there again, but if I am in the area I would stop in to grab a few things.

Dont walk… Run from this place! They cannot braid hair to save their lives. The people that work here are friendly and that makes it hard to leave this review but I have to warn other hard working customers. I took my braids out the following week because it looked terrible. I was so embarrassed to even be seen. My family members have no filter and they all agreed this was not professional work and definitely not worth what I paid. I’m soooo disappointed $ 200 later! Ugh! I’m still trying to figure out who braided the other people’s hair in the pics posted here on Unilocal because that’s what I went based on and recieved the total opposite!!!

Good customer service when they are open, but they are awful when it comes to opening on time. When you’re trying to make a quick stop before work or take an early lunch to go by there to purchase your hair care needs, DON’T. They NEVER open on time and sometimes close early. I use to like this place, but I am going to have to find me a more reliable beauty supply store.

Stay away from here. I have two instances with this company. One they overcharged me. Two, I bought the wrong hair for a stylist and I took back the hair the next day unopened. Would not accept return. I will never go there again. Not worth it ladies.

I have nothing but good news to spread about their customer service. They are very welcoming and friendly. They have a nice selection of hair products to choose from, although I would like to see more choices. Its always good to see a Black Owned business thrive and be very good at what they do. Im sorry to say this, but I had to take a point away for the quality of hair I paid for. I should have gone with my instinct and purchased packs of hair that I have already tried instead of purchasing hair that I was advised to buy. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it is entirely their fault, for it is i that made the final decision to purchase that particular brand of hair. In addition there is no staff for thermal hair styling. :(

Ok so I went in here to just kind of look around, maybe trying to find a wig for some upcoming events. I have short hair and am a white girl. Keep that in mind. When I walked in I was warmly welcomed and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all! The girl workIng was extremely helpful and super sweet. I actually found a wig that I fell in love with and had to get. The lace front wigs they have are not only GORGEOUS but well priced too. Extensions are pricey but it’s definitely worth going to. Well done :)
