This business is the epitome of what is wrong with Health Services in America… Not that you would have a choice to use this business or not as this company provides anesthesia services for Loma Linda University Hospital Murrieta. I am not sure if they provide services at other hospitals as well but regardless their billing practices are unethical and should be ILLEGAL! I have no issue with the service itself but the bill I got was 3 x the customary cost for the service rendered .
I had my baby at Loma Linda and this company provided the in house anesthesia epidural doctor. I saw this doctor for all of 20 minutes. Of course, it was never mentioned that this service was not billed by the hospital. Wasn’t I surprised when I received a bill for $ 3850 and it was charged as out of network. My insurance company said the customary charge for this service is $ 1500 and they tried to get this company to go down to customary charges but they REFUSED. Thank God I have a PPO or I would have been left to pay this bill on my own. My insurance paid a portion but refused to pay the customary 80% as it was billed as out of network. If I would have had a HMO I would be left with all of this bill. By the way this charge does not include the charge of the epidural medicine. This was charged separately by the hospital, It is unethical to charge people this much for a 20 minute service. What a great scam this company has. People are forced to use their service if they need anesthesia or a simple epidural and then they charge whatever they feel. They are getting rich off of overcharging people ridiculously. As I value my credit, I am paying this ridiculous bill. The nerve of ORION ANESTHESIA… You guys are the crooks that have broken the American Health Care System by overcharging middle class American people so you can get rich. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY SHAME on YOU!
