The prices have raised 3 times in the past year I was told by a manager and they are already expensive. The food is usually good. The potatoes are either way to salty or not salty enough. You can tell they have consistency issues for sure. The staff is nice but I wish taco tom was back. I would not recommend eating here a lot but it’s worth a try, especially in a town with so little good places to eat.

Definitely the best tacos in town. We always get at least a 6 pack and a pound and sometimes we get churros. There have been times when I would get a soda and it seems watered down, so I try to avoid ordering drinks any more. There have been a few times my potatoes weren’t seasoned or weren’t even fresh. Most of the time we use the drive thru but if we go inside it is always clean.

First time I’d ever eaten at this location was last weekend. I was immediately greeted as I walked in the door, which was surprising because they all looked like the were busy working hard. I ordered my usual #2 combo, and not only was it delivered to me in a timely manner, it was all very fresh. The potato olé’s were perfectly seasoned and crispy, and my burrito was definitely made with love. As I was leaving, I was again acknowledged by the staff as they told me to have a great day. And after the great experience I had there, I did.

I’m sure it’s a biased opinion, but this location is «as good as it gets!» It’s a chain restaurant so as far as menu and prices go it’s all the same. But the management and the staff is what makes this TJ’s stand out. I grew up living on a 6 pack and a pound at least 3 times a month with my family. There have been multiple times I’ve gone to a Taco John’s in other cities and have been very disappointed with the food. I haven’t been able to find a different location that even compares to this one. And it’s also very involved within the community and it’s great to see their support!

The in-house pico de gallo is delicious! The potato oles are a must, and I recommend the meat and potato burrito

I go here at least once a week for my breakfast burrito fix. They open at 7 am, which is great. I wished they opened a bit earlier, I understand that they have families too. It is the breakfast burrito in town, although that is not saying much. I wish their cheese sauce was not so watered down. It really does not have any taste. I come from Colorado where breakfast burritos are MUCH better. GIven that, the owner seems to be very personable and involved in the community, and I like to support local business. However, the four out of five last times I have been there in the last few weeks they have gotten my fairly simple order wrong every time. I always order the same thing– a breakfast burrito combo. I have learned to check my order before I leave because I get some very interesting things– the wrong burrito, no potato oles, and they often forget the cup of hot sauce that I specifically request. One day I actually got two chicken tacos at 7 am! Too bad I didn’t realize it until I got all the way to work… I hope it improves soon, and I will keep frequenting!

This store is very clean. The service is outstanding and the employees were very nice to me. The flavor and quality is better than Taco Bell. It’s easily the best fast Mexican food in the area. I tried one of the the new salads(chicken /apple /cranberry) and it was to die for! Taco John’s is the place to go if you love Mexican food and want to make healthy choices.

Try the Super Potato Olé’s for about $ 5. Clean and crowded for lunch.

We don’t have TJ’s in the Southwest, but we also don’t need it with the plethora of excellent and authentic taquerias and Mexican restaurants. However, I always have to eat there when I am back for a visit. Taco Tuesday and Potato Olé’s make the perfect nostalgic meal.

I grew up taking Taco John’s for granted. There were two locations in my town, and I could have it anytime I wanted. Now that I’m living in Indy, the closest location is two hours away, and the only way I usually get to eat Taco John’s is to make the 6 hours trek home to Iowa. It is nearly Thanksgiving, and I am home. Hence this review. And may I just say… For Thanksgiving this year, I am thankful for Potato Oles! In fact, the first thing my husband and I did after we got off the interstate was to get Potato Oles from Taco John’s! Taco John’s is fast food«mexican» ala Taco Bell… Except that Taco John’s is infinitely better in every way. All of their food has excellent flavor, especially their Potato Oles. The tacos are excellent and the 6 Pack and a Pound(six hard or soft shell tacos and a pound of Potato Oles!) combo deal is a phenomenal one. I also love their Churros! The interior of the restaurants aren’t really notable in any significant way. But that’s because Taco John’s is mostly a drive-thru type place. Expect to pay about 5 – 10 dollars, depending on the combo you get. The 6 Pack and a Pound is 9 dollars ish. To sum up the fabulousness of Taco John’s… A small anecdote: Our best friends came back to Muscatine for our wedding reception about 5 years ago. We introduced them to Potato Oles and they are totally hooked on them. Enough that they’ve asked us to bring back some Potato Oles from 6 hours away. Because seriously… They’re that good!
