Talk about fabulous Italian food made by our favorite Italian family! We have a family of five so we like to order a bit of everything… Our favorites include their pizza, cheese ravioli with homemade white sauce, and speghetti. You have to try their creamy garlic dressing on your salad.

This is a hidden gem in Muscatine. I make it a point to always stop in at the Sicilian or Francesca’s when I’m in Muscatine. Sam Vitale runs the place often with the help of his kids or his awesome manager Jamie and they all really know how to take care of you. The food is awesome. I always leave both places stuffed to the gills. When I go to the Sicilian, I sit at the bar and feel like I’m at Cheers. There’s always someone interesting coming or going. It’s very social. It’s a very friendly environment. Sammy is very engaging and takes care of everybody. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Best pizza in muscatine along with Francesca’s. And it’s easy to understand why considering it is Sammy’s original recipe. You can’t go wrong getting anything from here.

Ms T and I have spent a considerable number of nights back in Muscatine lately and finally had a chance to eat at a few of the local restaurants that we had not been able to try before. We had carryout two pizzas at The Sicilian and really enjoyed them. The crust is a little chewy, but not too thick or two thin. The sauce is good and not applied excessively. If you like wet pizzas, you will need to ask them to double up on the sauce. They use well flavored Italian sausage and plenty of green olives. My standard order will be double sausage and green olive. The cheese is excellent quality mozzarella and becomes nice and rubbery, chewy as it cools. This is what we are looking for. We like to ask most places to leave the pizza in a little longer and brown the cheese a little. I forgot one time here and it was still OK. We like the cheese broiled not just melted. We had a nice chat with the owner. I really like this friendly little carry-out place and plan to save room for pizza the next times we are in Muscatine. I guess you can eat at the little bar. Maybe you can even bring in a beer.
