Yes – this is the place to come for a great sandwich on fresh bread with a wonderful assortment of meats, cheeses, and toppings/dresses. This is our place whenever the kids come home and we are looking for a place to gather. The staff is amazing(love the attitude!) and the fact that they will quite often come and sit down with us and join our family time. It’s also a great place to pick up some hard to find wines.

In the Muskegon area of MI and many other places across the US, deli’s have shared counters in other food service businesses. Pizza and deli subs, roasted chickens and deli subs, but Waynes is a straight out of old Muskegon, strictly deli and some grocery items. The grocery items are nothing you will find in the local grocery stores, all are special order and unique items. I ordered the famous Italian Hoagies and was able to pick my bread, choose my cheese and my extras. The stacked cured meats alone had my sandwich weighing in at what seemed like a whole pound. Part of the charm is the directness of the workers in their patience with newcomers. I felt like I was back in a downtown NYC deli during the rushed lunch hour.

Was looking for a good soup/sandwich place near downtown Muskegon and coming up empty handed until someone recommended Waynes Deli. Finally found a chance to try it today — I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere — very unique and not lacking on the variety of items offered. Endless options for sandwiches, daily soups and specials, not to mention a very large selection of Michigan wines! This will be my go-to lunch spot for sure!

My husband and I have really enjoyed our experiences at Wayne’s Deli. The service is great and the food always hits the spot. This is actually the only liquor/beer retail location in Muskegon that carries craft beers and wines that are unique. This is a diamond in the rough that should not be overlooked.

Wayne’s Deli Wayne’s was located a block from the client and was recommended as a great place to grab a sandwich for lunch. It’s an interesting place: part deli counter, part convenience store, part liquor store, part restaurant. The deli counter has several ready-made sammiches of different varieties as well as a full list of ingredients with which to make one to your exact specifications. I ordered something custom, being the picky, difficult one: pastrami on rye with brown mustard. My colleague ordered the Italian sub(ham, salami, capicola, lettuce and tomato w/cheese) on an Italian roll. They had many, many different meat and bread options, so the possibilities seem endless. To compliment the sammiches, an array of chips and fountain drinks are also available(including fountain club soda!). Their beer/liquor/wine selection was pretty good and the food was high quality. Service was solid and the ladies were quick to give us a hard time for being newbies. All in good fun though, I’ll certainly be back to Wayne’s for lunch.
