The only thing this place has going for it is the new television. All the corners in the room were dirty, there was lots of late night foot traffic, and our truck got blocked in overnight, so I had to wait for some fool to move before I could leave. It is a motel, a little long in the tooth and grungy. If I stop in Muskogee, I will stay anywhere but here.

I was concerned when I pulled into the parking lot and noticed a bar-b-q grill in front of one of the rooms. It quickly became apparent that this hotel served as a residence for some of the people staying there. Once I got into my room, there were large stains on the chair. There were large stains on the ironing board. The mattresses seemed like they were about 100 years old, not much spring left in them. I didn’t have the guts to pull back the sheets and see if the mattresses were as stained as everything else. But giving the benefit of the doubt, I’m going to say the mattresses were stained too. In the morning, I jumped in the shower and the shower valve was nearly black from years of grime. Thankfully, I only stayed one night. So I got packed up and checked out. Then I noticed that 2 vehicles had illegally parked behind my truck, blocking me in. Lucky for me, the owners of the vehicles were some of the permanent residents of the hotel. So the desk attendant on duty knew what room they were living in. They came down and moved their cars so I could get on my way. And not a moment too soon. I’m not sure I’ll ever stay in Muskogee again. But if I do, you can be sure that I won’t be staying at this hotel.
