I dined Saturday night 2÷6÷15 and unfortunately ended up at Wendy’s afterwards. I initially ordered the 8 oz by strip and crab cake and when the strip arrived it had a smell of old meat. I cut the steak and had two bites both tasted although the meat was bad. I handed it back to the waiter which advised if they get a complaint it’s on those 8 oz strips. Not sure why these are served if this is known. I told the waiter I would take the 8 oz prime rib instead. The waiter returned with the prime rib which had the taste and appearance of boiled meat. The prime rib was excessively salty l, grainy, tough and had excess fat. I returned the prime rib after two bites as well. It was a slow evening that night so I am not sure why no one came over to find out what was going on but never did see a manager. The waiter handed me a bill and said guess you don’t want to try anything else. Apparently even if I had it would not have mattered since he handed me the bill. On my way out I asked about a manager but they said they could get him I said never mind no reason to tell him if he didn’t want to take the time to come find out why I returned two dishes. I have eaten plenty of steaks to know no matter what aged meat does not taste like bad meat. On a brighter note the Wendy’s Asian cashew salad is great.

Used to go to one in CT. Arrived during happy hour, had popcorn, nachos, crackers & cheese for free. Lots of drinks & appetizers at great prices. Had a happy hour dinner all great, came with their fantastic salad bar. Can’t miss with any of it. For happy hour must be in bar area either upstairs or down.

We come here often. Usually very good. Tonight is an off night. My ribs are very dry. Hubbies steak gasp too well done. Sent it back. Now it’s raw. Must be a new cook.

Not worth the drive… not even from North Myrtle Beach! We had been wanting to try Chuck’s for some time. Almost the entire month of December, they were closed, supposedly for renovations but that is not possible. The place is very dated, dark and not very appealing. The front door has a broken glass so obviously they had not renovated. We started with some cheese and crackers… EVERY cracker was stale. When we got to the salad bar… iceberg lettuce is obviously what they want you to eat. A very, very small amount of spring mix and romaine. The romaine appeared to have be sitting there some time… as did the iceberg. The salad bar was definitely not the quality it should be. The dressing was delicious. When we came back to the table, the waitress had left us 2 cold, dry rolls to have with our dinner. Unbelievable. Since we are both Seniors, we ordered from the Senior Menu. My husband had the broiled salmon and he enjoyed it but as he said, it would have been nice for him to have a choice of broccoli or asparagus or any steamed veggie. His only choice was starch, starch or starch!(Baked potato, fries or rice.) My Teriyaki Steak was just awful. It was beyond tough and the sauce was completely overwhelming. I took more than half of it home in a true doggie bag… at least our pups enjoyed it. The baked potato was spectacular. Fluffy & hot. The waitress was a nice girl but goodness, was she ever at talker. She stayed and stayed and stayed at our table so we could do nothing but listen to her. Overall, not a do-over. Sorry!

Three of us on vacation and after enough seafood, we were all looking for a good steak(without the Ruth’s Chris price tag). Chuck’s nicely fit the bill. Super friendly and helpful service from Jasmine. :-) Thanks again! We all three had versions of the«Senior»(same as the regular 7 oz. steak but $ 2.00 less) ball-cut Sirloin with baked potato. We all agreed the steaks, although not costly prime beef, were great, cooked just as requested, flavorful, grill marks, tender and juicy. Nice cheeses n crackers bar as well as a salad bar came with the meal. All seemed fresh, as was the blue cheese dressing. The warm dinner rolls at the end of the salad bar were good too. The Margaritas were A+. We are from Montana, so we really liked the Western theme in the place, with displays of animals, birds, antler racks, etc. Our only minor«complaint» would be the very uneven lighting in our lower seating section… made it hard for one of us to read the menu while one was under a bright light. If we were local, we would come back. 4 Stars!

We love Chucks especially happy hour, hell, we are crowded out by the locals every time we visit. I would like to see butter on the salad bar vs. Some type of butter spread, yuk. It cheapens the experience. I do, however, like the sirloin tips at happy hour. I have never had a bad steak, or experience here. If you don’t like something, tell your server. They will be glad to remedy the problem.

Went here based on positive Unilocal reviews. Arrived at about 8PM and it was dead. Only ½ dozen customers. Several waiters were just hanging out at the bar. Being alone I sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly enough but he seemed more intent on talking to a couple at the bar. As I looked over the menu I was sitting front of an ice tub that held bottled drinks. Right on the edge of the tub was a dead stink bug. Immediate turn off. I showed the bartender and he picked it up with a napkin and threw it away. Not wanting to let a single dead bug ruin a chance at good food, I stayed.(It is South Carolina after all and those stink bug are EVERYWHERE). I ordered a NY strip. What I got was a poorly cut strip that was very thin. Not what I expected. The steak was cooked the way I ordered it and it tasted alright but it was far from what I expected based on reviews. The salad bar and potato were just average. I was starving so the place at least filled me up, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to others and likely won’t go back.

Visited here this evening on the advice of my companion, he’s eaten here for years. Visited early enough for the early bird special, my steak was perfectly cooked with good grill marks and a good depth of flavor. My companion’s salmon was good with a nice portion. The salad bar was good but what stopped it from being great was iceberg lettuce instead of romaine, no baby spinach and very light on the spring mix. The dressings were great and obviously homemade. Rolls at the end of the salad bar were good and fresh but buttery spread, not real butter. Port wine cheese and pepper jack cheese were located around the corner from the salad bar. I’m not sure that many people knew it was there because I only saw us with cheese and crackers. Lauren, our waitress was efficient without being overbearing.

I love Chucks. We have been eating here for 20 years and never had a bad meal. The ribs are to die for and so is the prime rib. The salad bar is very good and the homemade yeast rolls are the best. This is an old style steakhouse with animal mounts on the walls and copper pots hanging from the fireplace. You can’t go wrong with the filet mignon.

Chuck’s Steakhouse has been around a long time and I not quite sure why we have never stopped, but we decided to give it a try. The cheese bar was a nice touch, and we really enjoyed the salad bar. I ordered prime rib, but having Celiac had to have without au jus. It was tasty. My husband ordered the special which had a coffee rub. He enjoyed it, but thought he would like it better during a milder climate. Not really what he liked for a summer time meal. We will definitely come back to Chuck’s and recommend it to our friends.

First time eating at Chuck’s. The salad bar was excellent. I had potato skins for an appetizer and I wasn’t impressed. I didn’t care for them at all. My entry was a steak and it was great. The atmosphere was awesome.

Every experience is different. Here’s mine. We had a great steak in a cozy atmosphere. YES, the service was a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry. It had a hunting lodge feel and an amazing all wooden rafter and purlin ceiling and interior. The salad bar was good and there was a great assortment of cheeses. My filet was cooked just right but the gorganzola sauce overpowered. I had to scrape some off to the side. The potato was great. My only dislike about the experience was the glass that the large beer came in. I believe it was 22 or 32 ounces. Instead of a giant mug, it came in a giant chalice. The glass weighed about 2 pounds by itself. Add 32 ounces of liquids and you’re sipping on a 4 pound footed bowl of beer. The glass would be better suited for a straw drink. Their draft selection was limited to amber bock and michelob ultra. Weak. Overall, tasty. 4 stars. I would recommend.

Our favorite steak house in the entire area(we live here). Wonderful steak, but don’t sleep on the ribs! They’re excellent too. The décor is relaxed, clean, cool, fun. Each section has a slightly different feel(sometimes we ask to be back by the Intracoastal Waterway so we can see the boats go by outside the window.) The waiters we’ve had are knowledgeable and eager to help. The salad bar is the best in the area. Excellent steak, never misses. Always a great experience.

Get there early for dinner. There is a nice salad bar, complimentary cheese and crackers, and a nice relaxed dining atmosphere. My steak was cooked to order and had a great flavor. The french onion soup was really good!

09÷7÷13 We had a steak ordered Med Rare served Rare bright pink cold center. Sent mine back and not returned until everyone was finished. Had to carry out in a doggier bag. 3 out of 3 of use did not like our steaks. Very tasteless. ALSO we brought it to the attention to the«manager» that other customers were being extremely rude to us during the entire dinning experience and we received a very non convincing«sorry». The waitress informed him who it was and that they are not«usually this bad». So locals are valued and allowed to torment other patrons. We did go into detail that these men moved to a table by us farted… commented. laughed. and this went on and on with loud talk of being a stripper/escort and being paid to dance and —– with the fat girl. They commented on everything we said and turned it X rated. We ignored however the waitress was aware and no one offered to move us. The waitress said they come in all of the time and other guest were bothered too. WILLNOTRETURN!

We had a family gathering of 17 people. We took over an entire section. The wait staff was very accommodating. The complimentary cheese and Crackers held us over until our entire party arrive. The meals came out timely and was what we expected. I had the blacken salmon. Was excellent ! We had a couple small children in the group that where fascinated my the décor of the room. Thanks great family reunion !!

We had a solid experience at Chuck’s on a Saturday at 8 pm. There were 14 of us early thirty-somethings intown for a bachelor party. We had already been drinking for most of the day, so we weren’t going to be the silent table. Chuck’s handled it well. They have 28 ounce beers for a price I can’t remember, but inexpensive. The selection that night was Michelob Ultra(because if you go to Chuck’s Steakhouse and order a freakishly tall beer, you must be dieting) and an amber, which was the popular choice. They went down smooth and easy. I had the 10 ounce mozzarella angus burger. This is far too big a burger when you have a full night ahead, so I made a private vow to only eat half. Which promptly turned into 2⁄3 before finally settling at ¾. It was juicy and delicious. I had avoided steak because of some poor reviews on Unilocal, but the steaks at our table were cooked perfectly. This isn’t Capital Grille, and it’s not trying to be. They were cooked correctly and were flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly and they even offered separate checks, which is rare with such big parties and no advance notice. Gratuity was not automatically included, another rarity. I would recommend Chuck’s as a decent casual option.
