Ladies, you MUST stop into Joan Crosby Shop when you’re in town.
Its a perfect retro throwback to when dames were dames and men wore hair grease. In a word, it was my happy place.
This is not your typical trash beach-​shack clothing store or «trying to be hip» older women’s clothes. Joan Crosby stands unapologetically as an original.
Filled with clothing for mature audiences, there was still plenty of beautiful beachwear and swimwear for younger demographics (20s/​30s). Plus they had adorably fun pieces like swimcaps (fun!), slippers and wildly colorful jewelry. The clothing is a bit pricey ($ 40-​$ 150 for tops/​swimsuits); but everything is quality-​made and sourced.
I bought a quite simply ADORABLE retro bathing suit with… wait for it, shorts. I feel like I’m in an Italian movie… which is often the look I’m going for.
The staff is charming and attentive and you will feel like you’ve had a real piece of Southern charm after visiting.
