It’s a «Build A Bear» workshop on testosterone! Take the Build Something at a Birthday Party concept, and shift the focus from Teddy Bears to Racing cars and you have RIDEMAKERZ. Pick a car, customize it, add trim, a monster chassis, a sound package, and anything your budget allows, get the picture? It’s a great concept, the store is bright and colorful, the staff was super helpful, and I liked how the customizing stations resemble pit stops and the stools look like shock absorbers. And you get a Unilocal check in $ 5 off bonus!

Well, it is what it is. It’s like Build a Bear for car lovers. You first pick your base car($ 19 and up) then you add tires, rims, bumpers, hood vents, decals, etc. There are base options that come with the basic car but there are tons of upgrade parts and it’s almost like you are Scrooge if you say no. I’d plan to spend $ 50 for a car if you want to be frugal, I was in line behind people spending $ 125 for a car. There are $ 10 off coupons in the broadway coupon book and retail me not. This is a great place to take a child for a special treat. They get to put the car together themselves and the staff make a big deal over how cool their cars are.

Don’t forget the coupon from the book to save $ 10. Everyone was nice! Cam helped us build our cars, he was great! Great for the kids! No pressure from the staff to purchase upgrades. We loved it!!!

Pricey but my son loved it. Look for a $ 10 off $ 40 coupon in the books. Our truck was $ 90 after tax and coupon. That includes remote and battery pack upgrades and fire truck accessories.

Like Build-a-Bear but for boys! It is pricey if you get the remote control option or any other add-ons, but the experience is worth it. The product is well-made and durable. One thing that impressed us is once you purchase one vehicle, you can purchase other vehicle bodies and parts that fit on your original chassis. So, although the initial $$ may seem high, you can actually have several different vehicles for just a little more $$. Plus, our son enjoyed switching out vehicle bodies!

We didn’t actually buy anything here — but the place is pretty cool. Instead of the standard American Girl or Build-a-Bear shops, this place is geared a bit more towards a different sort of experience, one that is a little more interactive. You choose a car body, then give it sounds, new wheels, new tires, even add a monster chassis or radio control. Naturally each of these costs money. The cheapest you can get out appears to be $ 15 — but you can easily get to $ 80 or so, without even adding customization(spoilers and such). Then you get to put together the ride(just a few screws). You can register online, and of course use the ride as a regular remote control car. Much more fun than a bear or a doll.
