when you look at the price of the ticket, it seems ok for an aquarium. but when you visit the aquarium, you will find that it will take you only 20 minutes to visit the whole exhibit. they have cool stuff like the sharks and sword fish, and you can touch the jellyfish. excluding skydiving, that would be the most expensive 20 minutes I paid for.

Good aquarium. If you’ve been to one Ripleys aquarium, you’ve been to this one. Crowded, but that was to be expected.

Solid 3 stars, great for kids, usual aquarium stuff, touch the Rays, bonus to go into pool and touch(extra$), and see the main attraction which are the Sharks. Some photo ops with a mermaid, walking shark. Must pay for photos w mermaid. Good way to break the pool /beach cycle.

Came here when my wife and i took our first get away trip to Myrtle beach when we first got together 9 years ago. This is our 2nd year wedding anniversary can came back to show our 3 year old where it all began. He had a ball looking at all the fish and sharks swimming above him. My wife and i enjoyed it more 9 years later watching our son enjoy it more than we did our first time 9 years ago.

Although the aquarium was interesting, the exhibits were not what I expected for almost $ 100 for 2a &2c. My expectations were high due to the Ripley name. The Mermaid show was great with a meet and great to follow(leave show early). The most upsetting part was the exit. One small door at the very end of a very over stuffed gift shop.

Just went on our vacation to Myrtle Beach and decided to visit the Ripley’s Aquarium for the first time, we had a blast! My daughter is a shark lover so seeing the tunnel where you are up close and personal was exciting for her. We also got to touch jelly fish, sting rays and horseshoe crabs. We have been to the Atlanta aquarium with rude staff, and people, and even though this one was smaller we enjoyed it a lot more. We would definitely return, the price is not bad compared to some aquariums like the atlanta prices. Thank you Ripley’s for an awesome experience!

I drove from D. C to Myrtle Beach to simply have a look at the underwater tunnel! I definitely wasn’t disappointed! I loved everything about it including the fact that you could touch the sting rays and sharks! That was pretty awesome! I had a great time touching the jellyfish! It made me feel like a kid! This was definitely worth it! The mermaid show was great!

I absolutely loved it. Was very pricey but since my sister and husband are military we received a very good discount. What I loved the most about this aquarium was the jellyfish. Also there was like an underground walkway where u get to see the sharks, sting rays, etc. From all different sides. The kids truly enjoyed touching the sing rays and jelly fish. Would definitely go back.

So much fun! But make sure your ready to pay a pretty penny to get in. The aquarium is huge! They have a station where you can touch horseshoe crabs and a station where you can touch jelly fish! They have a under ground/water walk way so you can get up close and personal with the bigger aquatic life(sharks, sea turtles, sting rays, fish, and eels!). This was my favorite part! They have a «living gallery» with octopus, fish, sea dragons, corals, and jellys. They have a tropical rain forest exhibit on the top entrance floor, which is beautiful. And they also have a mermaid show! If the price to get into this place was so expensive, and the exit to get out was so chaotic(through the small and narrow gift store) I would give this place a 5 star for sure!

Ripley’s Aquarium was A-OK. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the very long, winding tunnel under the big tank with all the sharks. It’s on a slow moving walkway, so you can just stand there admiring the sharks, rays, and fish while the walkway moves you along. There are several hands-on exhibits for you to touch real sea-life — sharks, rays, jellyfish, etc. I generally associate the name«Ripley» with bizarre factoids of world record — largest, tallest, deepest, fastest, weirdest stuff, but there was none of that here. This was pretty much a small-scale aquarium similar to the aquarium you’d find in many other cities, but nothing in comparison to the big ones like Monterey Bay or Baltimore.

Having being to national aquarium in Baltimore and others, this place had interesting attractions. The number of fish and shark tank was very good. Granted there is limited number of tanks. The commercial nature of Ripley’s make it entertaining for kids.

Although we went here on a holiday, it is a very good event/display to take in while in Myrtle Beach. It was very nice that they offered military discounts of 50% for active duty and retired service members AND a 30% discount for military families. Thank you so much for honoring military service. There are a number of display rooms and shows/presentations throughout the day. One of which is a jelly fish room that displays an amazing array of jelly fish. Never knew that there were so many different types! The main tank is conveniently located amid a moving sidewalk that snakes around the tank perimeter. You can see everything and there are informational plaques at the base of the glass that tell you what it is you are watching. Very clever and good for child control. A «touch pool» is there containing rays that you can touch while they swim by. Creeps out some, but the tactile children just love it. If you have some of those children with you, plan on spending a lot of time around this water arena. Recommend you go on a weekday as the weekend and peak holiday times are a mad-house of people. You will be on your feet as there are few benches or so to rest upon. If you have a senior, take them in a wheel chair of with a walker that has a seat.

Super fun experience on a cold day in Myrtle Beach. Buy your tickets online in advance and skip the line(check some other websites besides Ripley’s for ticket deals). Four adult tickets and one kid’s ticket cost us $ 97, including tax and fees. It’s not super large and the layout is a little odd(I felt like we back-tracked a lot), but what’s extra nice is the moving sidewalk through the shark tunnel. Just step on and cruise along at a nice pace to see everything swimming around the tanks. Don’t miss the fun shows — our 3yo loved the mermaid show and the meet and greet afterwards. There’s a small hands-on area with horseshoe crabs. Two hours is plenty of time here. Don’t forget to exit through the gift shop!

The aquarium is small, expensive and crowded. My family paid $ 44(this was with 1 free adult ticket) and we were done and bored within an hour(we took our time and enjoyed each exhibit). We have an aquaria close to our home and it is an all day venue. I enjoyed my time there, but I felt it was a little pricey for the size.

I will admit that signs showcasing a Great White Shark are what first drew my interest in the Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach which was one of the spots that I would visit when down in the region seeing relocated family members. My folks are of the mindset of keeping their visitors busy and this also applies to me so on one of the days we headed to this particular attraction and who doesn’t love an aquarium anyway. They’ve always fascinated me. It seemed to be a pricey entry but since they are residents of the area have found that numerous to do items come with a discounted price for those who live in the region. This applied to me as well being family so I was not arguing. Inside the Ripley’s aquarium was a giant fish tank where you could see was amounted to be thousands of different kinds of exotic fish. It was pretty nice but there was more exploring to do inside. You should def take a photo of the jaws of the Megalodon(ancient Great White Shark). There is a section with a lot of different kinds of jellyfish in it and they are so beautiful and I am glad that I am seeing them in a case as opposed to next to me in the water anywhere. I don’t like being stung by anything. There is a massive tank with numerous manta rays and sand bar sharks among other things swimming around and this is where they also have the mermaid show. Two beautiful swimmers speak to the crowd over the PA and do acrobatics to the delight of the audience. It was charming and after the show these mermaids come to the surface for the kids to say hello to. I thought it was cute. There is also an automated walkway that brings you around the rest of the tanks where you can see the other aquatic attractions. Overall this was a fun time but not really of the scope of the NY Aquarium in Coney Island Brooklyn.

A perfect non-beach activity. Originally slated as my «rainy day» backup, Ripleys is worth going even in great weather. It’s colorful, vibrant, modern, and spacious, with different sections for you to explore to your hearts content. My favorite are the Ray Bay touch tank, horseshoe crab touch tank, conveyor belt viewing the Sharks, and Jellyfish. The conveyor is worth going on twice or stepping off entirely — you’ll love trying to get those perfect shots. The jellyfish are glowingly mesmerizing and the touch tanks are well, super interactive. Definitely recommended!

I loved this aquarium! It’s not huge but it’s presented well, it’s really fun with surprises in every corner. I would definitely recommend this, especially to young couples. You don’t have to have kids to do this! My boyfriend and I had a blast!

So much fun. No I’m not 5, I’m a 28 year old who went to this place during a hurricane with fellow 30 year olds. We had a blast. You may have thought we brought our children or young family members but no, that child like laughter and wonder you may have heard was from us. Bring your friends, bring your kids and make sure you buy your tickets online to save a few bucks!

We went here due to our family’s love of aquariums and the rainy weather. It’s a fairly small aquarium, done in about 90 minutes and obviously packed on rainy days, and definitely worth it. It’s unique, being ripley and all. The moving walkway under the shark pool is very awesome and the low stingray pond is great, although we didn’t touch any. The small touch pools for crabs and jellies we’re awesime, especially foe the 3 year old in the group. Go ahead and take your picture at the entrance and see if it turns out goos. We recommend the shark tunnel background

Best aquarium we have been to the kids had a blast. Wish the mermaids were more active when we were there. Loved that that could touch the jellies, horseshoe crabs and little sharks. The gift store is responsibly priced and loved the 50% off. Will come back again next time we come down. Loved how the sharks swim around and the play areas throughout.
