Awesome!!! Great margaritas, old school burrito, and salsa. Shanna couldn’t have nicer. Must visit in Myrtle!

Get away from the chain places and try this place out. It is outstanding. You have never had a meal like this anywhere. Don’t let the small home town look deter you from having the best meal of your life. This was my first time, but it won’t be the last.

I don’t want to rate it 5 stars because I don’t want to wait in line next time! Amazing, fresh Mexican food!!! I loved the cheese dip and salsa. Can’t wait to go back and try a margarita!

I love this place! Everything is fresh house made to order. Fresh home made salsa. Home made margaritas! First place I ever had a fish taca over ten years ago. And still fantastic!

So this is our last night in Myrtle and we wanted Mexican. This place was amazing! We both got the Old School Burrito and it was by far the best Mexican meal I’ve ever had! If you’re looking for a not so average tourist spot in Myrtle I highly suggest this place!

Wonderful quaint little café. If you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle tourist life this is it. The food was excellent and the portions are huge! The service is exactly what it should be for a place like this very friendly made us feel so welcome. Next time in Myrtle Beach we will defiantly go here again! A must!

We visited sun city based on the reviews here. Based on food alone I would have rated it a 4. I would rate the service a 2. We waited an hour and 20 mins for 3 tacos and 2 quesadillas. Twice we were told that the chef was cooking ours next. Apparently they cook one ticket at a time??? The food was good but honestly nothing special and not worth the wait. One time here was plenty. I don’t think it will be a place I come back to.

Excellent food, large portions, and beautiful presentation. Also, fantastic mug size margaritas for only $ 5. Menu is simple, food is all fresh, and you can taste it. Lovely staff, both owner and chef conversed with us tableside individually. This place is understated but impressed the hell out of me. I will come back many times. Thank you Sun City, you got it just right.

Wonderful! We had a party of 8 and the owner was very accommodating and so happy to have us. The salsa is made fresh every day and so are the chips. We couldn’t get enough of the chips and salsa! Order the guacamole — it is so fresh and has a beautiful presentation. I ordered the shrimp and chicken tacos. AWESOME! Everything from the tortilla to the cheese to the tomato and lettuce and amount of meat was perfect. My favorite was the chicken taco. Very cheesy and warm and a large amount of chicken. Can’t forget the margaritas! We got 2 pitchers for 8 people and that was perfect. They were so tasty and we all were given cold mugs with salt and a lime. I cannot wait to go back!

Definately not a place to take small children. There’s no kids menu at all. They offered our kids a cheese quesadilla and it was $ 6.95 seriously a tortilla and some cheese $ 7? Are you out of your mind. That didn’t include their drink. The waiter was friendly and the salsa and cheese were good. But it was $ 65 of wasted money. We should have walked out when we didn’t see a kids menu. It may have been a different review if it was just my husband and I going to dinner. But again don’t take kids there. It’s not family friendly. Next time we will go to banditos at least the kids get fries and a drink for less.

Food — 2⁄2 *What a surprise! The fish tacos were some of the best that I’ve ever had! Really flavorful. Really rich. Warning– heavier meal than your average one. I loved the food. Price — 0.5÷1 *$ 13 for two tacos is a lot Service — 1⁄1 *Our waitress was helpful, fun and friendly! Great service. Atmosphere — 1⁄1 *Fun, eclectic, not your average Myrtle Beach spot. Odd metal chairs but a small fun atmosphere. We are really early and it was empty but apparently it gets busier with the locals around 7. I spend a lot of time in Myrtle Beach and am always in search of a good local spot. This is what I have been looking for! I really loved it. Get the fish tacos!

Great food, service, atmosphere, etc. we felt welcomed even though we were late to walk through the door and the last table of the night. Food was amazing, though it should be noted the burrito is not one that you’d pick up with your hands. More of a fork and knifer. We will definitely come back each time we are in town.

Insipid! We have eaten here several times in the past and it was Outstanding. The last time we were here, the food was fresh, spicy and very good. You had to wait a relatively long time for your food, because it was not cooked until you ordered. But something has changed. This time the food came out pretty quickly. There was a side dish of rice in a bowl which had been Nuked to the point that the bowl was untouchable. We had the fish tacos, which were completely anemic and tasteless. We were both dumping salt, pepper, the salsa, guacamole, Anything we could find on the Tacos to try and give them Some flavor… any flavor! They were edible, but Very forgettable. Again, something has changed. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it and we do not plan to go back.

Decent food, but only about average for what I had this week. And $ 77 for two adults and two kids? This place was far, far too expensive for Mexican. $ 2 sodas with no refills. The cheese dip tasted like someone melted some Velveeta. The waiter told us a story about some people griping about their prices, so apparently we were not the only people that weren’t impressed with what you get for your money. Of all the places I ate in Myrtle Beach this week, this was the only one I regret and consider a bad decision.

Came to this spot with a dinner party of 13 people. It’s obviously difficult to please a group that big, especially when you go into a discreet restaurant such as this one in a foreign city. It was difficult to find because the only sign they have is painted on to the door; if you were just driving by looking for a place to eat, you’d pass right by it. Everyone was skeptical when I said I had heard of this place off of Unilocal, but by the end of the meal, they were ALL turning to me thanking me for finding this place and giving it the thumbs up. To start, the atmosphere was cozy and laid-back. It’s on the smaller side as far as restaurants go but they were able to accommodate for our larger party and even met our requests for more table space. I think the thing that made the experience worth the while was the customer service. The chef and owner of the restaurant himself came out and took a picture of our party when we asked for someone to, and introduced himself and chatted with us at the end of our meal. Our server, Matt, was a charming and outgoing young man who took really good care of us. We ordered the Black Bean Dip and the Guacamole for appetizers, both of which were fresh and delicious. They don’t serve traditional mexican food but it is so tasty and unique, no one really cared about the differences. The burritos came with mashed potatoes in them which was strange but very good. The serving sizes are incredibly generous– I ordered a small burrito and only managed to finish half of it in the time I was there. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for anybody visiting Myrtle Beach. I’m not very experimental when it comes to food– I’m a vegetarian, I don’t really have a choice– but I’m definitely glad I tried Sun City Café’s unique dishes because my trip to South Carolina just wouldn’t have been the same!

If Tracey is you bar tender, you got it made! Was in Myrtle just for the weekend, and saw this places ratings on Unilocal, and decided to try it out. The atmosphere is pretty awesome, and the staff is very laid back. We decided to sit at the bar, and order a pitcher of Margaritas. They were pretty good, there was a weird tang at the end of each drink, something about a ‘secret ingredient.’ The chips were pretty good, and the salsa was super chunky. I ended up getting the shrimp and fish tacos. I’d say if I were to order this again I’d just for the fish tacos. They were good, with big hunks of fish in them. The shrimp however were nothing special, they weren’t battered or charge, just plain shrimp on a taco. My boyfriend ordered some crazy mess of a burrito, that involves mashed potatoes, grilled chicken and a whole lot of goodness. Let’s just say it’s even better the morning after you make it home from Tracey’s strong margaritas. Overall the experience was good, with dirty jokes exchanged between bartender and guest, to the fake mustaches and sombreros that are at your table to use as you will. Some where out there is photo of me looking ever-so dapper in a sexy mustache.

I would like to start off by saying I have been in the foodservice business for over 20 years. My family and I just eat here and it was one of the most god awful meals we have had. My wife and I shared a pitch of Margaritas and we all shared a small queso cheese dip. My wife had the chicken and spinach Burrito, I had the chicken and spinach quesadilla, our 15yr old boy had fish tacos and our 12yr old girl had a cheese quesadilla. Our two littlest girls(5 and 8 yr old) had chicken tacos-we asked to split their dish and the server was almost reluctant to do so since they do not split dishes. Sooo where do I start… the menu said everything is made«fresh». Our Margarita tasted like it was made from Kool-Aid lemonade dry mix, the«queso dip» was used with block American cheese, the salsa was tomatoes from a can-the only thing fresh was the added cilantro. The chicken everyone had was totally dry and the quesadillas and burrito were smothered with more block American cheese. The total cost of our«dinner» was $ 112 bucks. Please do not misunderstand, I am willing to pay for good food any day of the week but this was far from being anything good. So if you are into expensive cafeteria food, this is your place. See added«Nasty» picture.

I’d give Sun City 10 stars if I could. This gem is where the locals eat and is not well marked to discourage tourists. We shared old school chicken and had more food than either of us could eat. The mashed potatoes in the burrito was unusual yet beyond delicious! Table side guacamole was so fresh, we fought over it! The house salsa was superb but the hot sauce was too much for me. The chips were salty and fresh. Sun City was our favorite non-seafood restaurant in Myrtle Beach! Sadly I returned to Ohio and was disappointed by the dismal efforts of my local Mexican restaurant”s mashed potato filled burrito.
