In March 2014, we contracted with Lowe’s of Shallotte, NC to install a 6′ privacy fence around the backyard of a 2nd home at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Lowe’s hired Titus Titan of Myrtle Beach, SC to install the fence. After several deliveries of defective materials, Titus was able to install the fence in late May. Unfortunately, we were back home in VA when the fence was installed but fortunately, a relative was at the beach and was able to send us pictures after the fence was installed. We were very upset upon receiving the pictures as 3 sprinkler heads were broken and left lying on the ground and no one from Titus called or e-mailed or sent pictures letting us know this. We understand there was the possibility this could happen but not knowing that it did happen was a major concern as the sprinkler was set to come on periodically and we could just imagine water spewing everywhere from the broken parts. We made an unexpected trip to NC several days later to see for ourselves the condition of the yard and in doing so realized that not only were the sprinkler heads broken and lying on the ground, but one side of the fence was nowhere near the property line, thus giving our neighbor approximately 2 ½ feet of our property. We took pictures and visited the Lowe’s manager in Shallotte to express our concerns. He was likewise not pleased with what we showed him and came by the house later that day to see the yard for himself. My husband and a neighbor repaired the sprinkler heads and we insisted that the side of the fence needed to moved to the property line and the battle with Titus began. Titus insisted we get a 2nd survey – we did indeed give them a 2nd survey(our HOA had a copy) which was now in addition to the 1st survey we gave them. So they now had 2 perfectly good surveys by 2 different survey companies, dated 2010 which were virtually identical — and they STILL refused to move the fence claiming we had to get a 3rd survey. After 3+ months this dragged on and it’s now September – Lowe’s agreed to pay for a 3rd survey but for some reason the survey company they contacted never got back to them — so I reluctantly paid $ 450 for the 3rd survey which showed the fence was 2 ½ feet inside our property line on one side. I was truly tired of what they were putting us through… Finally in mid-October, Titus moved the fence to the property line in accordance with the 3rd survey(which was virtually identical to surveys #1 and #2.) We asked for pictures of the install, never got them — although Ray of Titus produced copies of e-mails claiming to have sent them to us… he said it must have been my «firewalls» around my e-mail — Really? I don’t have any of that and the Lowe’s manager even confirmed that by looking at my e-mail account. Titus comment was«well I’ve not had any problems with anybody else and their e-mail»…well then why didn’t mine bounce back as «undeliverable»? Why weren’t you concerned that your customer says they didn’t get the pictures and try to resolve the problem instead of adopting an attitude of «couldn’t care less». Never got pictures from Titus after the fence was moved which I specifically asked they do and was told definitely would receive. But there were 2 «laughable» comments from Titus…1. we were told recently by Lowe’s management that Titus says that they fixed/repaired our sprinkler heads — that is so untrue! 2. Ray on more than one occasion referred to the survey«plat» as «plot» — anyone knows it’s a plat! This entire experience has been probably the most unprofessional dealing with any company ever in my entire life. If you’re planning to do business with this company, be very careful. And by all means beware of fabricated e-mails – I only wish I had asked to see Ray’s phone when he showed me printed copies of «supposed» e-mails claiming to have sent us pictures. Never«I’m sorry» Could have chosen Home Depot, McLamb Fence or utilized a local gentleman who does a variety of construction services — my mistake going this route — but one does live and learn. Hope this helps anyone thinking of working with this company.

Titus Titan recently installed a fence in our backyard. The workmanship is excellent and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone!
