It was my first time here. I was overdue for a pedicure. There were already four other ladies getting pedis when I signed it but I didn’t have to wait. I got the classic pedi. He didn’t file my nails down smooth so the edges were still rough and sharp. I had to file them when I got home which kind of messed up the polish a little. So annoying. But he did a good job applying the polish so it looks pretty uniform on all my toes. He was pleasant and sociable without being obtrusive. I loved their music too. It’s a nice salon. The pedi was $ 25 which was reasonable enough for me.

I cannot say how wonderful it is to go to a salon where English isn’t a second language. Don’t get it twisted, I respect the ladies(and one gentlemen) in my fav salons in Northern Virginia, but it is challenging for me, as a hearing impaired person, to hold a steady conversation without constantly asking them to repeat themselves. It can be frustrating for BOTH parties. Mariana took excellent care of me today and gave me a cute July 4th style pedicure design. She has skills, was personable, friendly and professional; loved her family stories, too! She absolutely REFUSED to let me leave without making sure her design was up to her high standards. Love that! I also love it when professionals like her take the time to help you improve your weak fingernails. She told me to stop the vitamins I was taking and to instead do prenatal vitamins because what I was taking was NOT working. Another bonus is that she let me ramble on and participated an my ramblings. A classic/basic mani with a pedi with two nail designs cost me $ 40, not counting the tip. Up in Virginia, it would have cost me $ 60+ without the tip. The ONLY negative about this salon is that there isn’t enough seating for those who are waiting for their session. With that being said, it only took 5 minutes or so to get me seated for the pedi. If that is the norm, then«waiting» seats aren’t necessary. Well, that wasn’t the ONLY negative because the background music was a bit too loud for me. Then again, I’m hearing impaired so it could just be me. So much so that one time, she was speaking with her fellow manicurist next to her, and I jumped in with my weekend plans because I thought she was asking me! Lol It threw her off for a second but we both recovered. I will wait for my monthly visits to Myrtle Beach to get my mani and pedis on. See you next month.

Very bad service from start to finish. I went in and asked for a classic manicure, painted with French tips(I specifically said I wanted classic, and pointed to it on the menu). He did gel instead of regular polish, which I specifically didn’t want because it is $ 18 more expensive. He wasn’t attentive to me or my friend, who he was working on simultaneously(note: he made all her cuticles bleed and did a sloppy job). Not two days later, my gel nails started to peel(I didn’t go to the beach or do anything rough, plus they advertise that gel nails last 2 weeks). By 4 days later most of them had fallen off or were coming off without me touching them. I decided to go back in to see what they could do, hoping to just get my refund and not have to deal with them again. The same guy who did my nails wouldn’t let me talk to any other employees, and insisted I couldn’t get a refund because«he didn’t know what I had done at the beach» — even though I told him numerous times I hadn’t been to the beach. As I turned to my boyfriend to talk about what I should do, this employee(WITHOUTMYCONSENT) started filing off the broken gel with the electric filer(the kind used for acrylic nails). Since I apparently had no say in the matter, I sat down as he(very roughly) took off the messed up gel and repainted them. In the end, I was very dissatisfied because the nail technician was rude and sloppy, and I wasted the $ 30 I didn’t want to pay in the first place.
